Psalms 84
1 For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Core, concerning the wine presses. How amiable are your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
Psaume des enfants de Coré, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Guittith. Eternel des armées, combien sont aimables tes Tabernacles!
2 My soul longs, and faints for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh have exulted in the living god.
Mon âme désire ardemment, et même elle défaut après les parvis de l'Eternel; mon cœur et ma chair tressaillent de joie après le [Dieu] Fort et vivant.
3 Yes, the sparrow has found himself a home, and the turtle-dove a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, [even] your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Le passereau même a bien trouvé sa maison, et l'hirondelle son nid, où elle a mis ses petits; tes autels, ô Eternel des armées! mon Roi, et mon Dieu!
4 Blessed are they that dwell in your house: they will praise you evermore. (Pause)
Ô que bien-heureux sont ceux qui habitent en ta maison, et qui te louent incessamment! (Sélah)
5 Blessed is the man whose help is of you, O Lord; in his heart he has purposed to go up
Ô que bien-heureux est l'homme dont la force est en toi, et ceux au cœur desquels sont les chemins battus!
6 the valley of weeping, to the place which he has appointed, for [there] the law-giver will grant blessings.
Passant par la vallée de Baca ils la réduisent en fontaine; la pluie aussi comble les marais.
7 They shall go from strength to strength: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.
Ils marchent avec force pour se présenter devant Dieu en Sion.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: listen, O God of Jacob. (Pause)
Eternel Dieu des armées, écoute ma requête; Dieu de Jacob, prête l'oreille; (Sélah)
9 Behold, O God our defender, and look upon the face of your anointed.
Ô Dieu, notre bouclier, vois, et regarde la face de ton Oint.
10 For one day in your courts is better than thousands. I would rather be an abject in the house of God, than dwell in the tents of sinners.
Car mieux vaut un jour en tes parvis, que mille [ailleurs]. J'aimerais mieux me tenir à la porte en la maison de mon Dieu, que de demeurer dans les tentes des méchants.
11 For the Lord loves mercy and truth: God will give grace and glory: the Lord will not withhold good things from them that walk in innocence.
Car l'Eternel Dieu nous est un soleil et un bouclier; l'Eternel donne la grâce et la gloire, et il n'épargne aucun bien à ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you.
Eternel des armées, ô que bien-heureux est l'homme qui se confie en toi!
