Psalms 82

1 A Psalm for Asaph. God stands in the assembly of gods; and in the midst [of them] will judge gods.

Zaburi ya Asafu. Mungu anaongoza kusanyiko kuu, anatoa hukumu miongoni mwa “miungu”:

2 How long will you judge unrighteously, and accept the persons of sinners? (Pause)

“Hata lini utaendelea kuwatetea wasio haki na kuonyesha upendeleo kwa waovu?

3 Judge the orphan and poor: do justice to the low and needy.

Teteeni wanyonge na yatima, tunzeni haki za maskini na walioonewa.

4 Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.

Mwokoeni mnyonge na mhitaji, wakomboeni kutoka mkononi mwa mwovu.

5 They know not, nor understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.

“Hawajui lolote, hawaelewi lolote. Wanatembea gizani; misingi yote ya dunia imetikisika.

6 I have said, You are gods; and all [of you] children of the Most High.

“Nilisema, ‘Ninyi ni “miungu”; ninyi nyote ni wana wa Aliye Juu Sana.’

7 But you die as men, and fall as one of the princes.

Lakini mtakufa kama wanadamu wa kawaida; mtaanguka kama mtawala mwingine yeyote.”

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for you shall inherit all nations.

Ee Mungu, inuka uihukumu nchi, kwa kuwa mataifa yote ni urithi wako.
