Psalms 80
1 For the end, for alternate [strains], a testimony for Asaph, a Psalm concerning the Assyrian. Attend, O Shepherd of Israel, who guide Joseph like a flock; you who sit upon the cherubs, manifest yourself;
För sångmästaren, efter »Liljor»; ett vittnesbörd; av Asaf; en psalm.
2 before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasse, stir up your power, and come to deliver us.
Lyssna, du Israels herde, du som leder Josef såsom din hjord; du som tronar på keruberna, träd fram i glans.
3 Turn us, O God, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be delivered.
Låt din makt vakna upp till att gå framför Efraim och Benjamin och Manasse, och kom till vår frälsning.
4 O Lord God of hosts, how long are you angry with the prayer of your servant?
Gud, upprätta oss, och låt ditt ansikte lysa, så att vi varda frälsta.
5 You will feed us with bread of tears; and will cause us to drink tears by measure.
HERRE Gud Sebaot, huru länge skall du vredgas vid ditt folks bön?
6 You has made us a strife to our neighbors; and our enemies have mocked at us.
Du har låtit dem äta tårebröd och givit dem tårar att dricka i fullt mått.
7 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved. (Pause)
Du gör oss till ett trätoämne för våra grannar, och våra fiender bespotta oss.
8 You have transplanted a vine out of Egypt: you have cast out the heathen, and planted it.
Gud Sebaot, upprätta oss, och låt ditt ansikte lysa, så att vi varda frälsta.
9 You made a way before it, and did cause its roots to strike, and the land was filled [with it].
Ett vinträd flyttade du från Egypten, du förjagade hedningarna och planterade det.
10 Its shadow covered the mountains, and its shoots [equalled] the goodly cedars.
Du röjde rum för det, och det slog rötter och uppfyllde landet.
11 It sent forth its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the river.
Bergen blevo betäckta av dess skugga och Guds cedrar av dess rankor;
12 Therefore have you broken down its hedge, while all that pass by the way pluck it?
det utbredde sina revor ända till havet och sina telningar intill floden.
13 The boar out of the wood has laid it waste, and the wild beast has devoured it.
Varför har du då brutit ned dess hägnad, så att alla vägfarande riva till sig därav?
14 O God of hosts, turn, we pray you: look on [us] from heaven, and behold and visit this vine;
Vildsvinet från skogen frossar därpå, och djuren på marken äta därav.
15 and restore that which your right hand has planted: and look on the son of man whom you did strengthen for yourself.
Gud Sebaot, vänd åter, skåda ned från himmelen och se härtill, och låt dig vårda om detta vinträd.
16 [It is] burnt with fire and dug up: they shall perish at the rebuke of your presence.
Skydda trädet som din högra hand har planterat, och den son som du har fostrat åt dig.
17 Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand, and upon the son of man whom you did strengthen for yourself.
Det är förbränt av eld och kringhugget; för ditt ansiktes näpst förgås de.
18 So will we not depart from you: you shall quicken us, and we will call upon your name.
Håll din hand över din högra hands man, över den människoson som du har fostrat åt dig.
19 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and make your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
Då skola vi icke vika ifrån dig; behåll oss vid liv, så skola vi åkalla ditt namn. HERRE Gud Sebaot, upprätta oss; låt ditt ansikte lysa, så att vi varda frälsta.
