Psalms 74
1 [A Psalm] of instruction for Asaph. Therefore have you rejected [us], O God, for ever? [therefore] is your wrath kindled against the sheep of your pasture?
Nyanyian pengajaran Asaf. Mengapa, ya Allah, Kaubuang kami untuk seterusnya? Mengapa menyala murka-Mu terhadap kambing domba gembalaan-Mu?
2 Remember your congregation which you have purchased from the beginning; you did ransom the rod of your inheritance; this mount Sion wherein you have lived.
Ingatlah akan umat-Mu yang telah Kauperoleh pada zaman purbakala, yang Kautebus menjadi bangsa milik-Mu sendiri! Ingatlah akan gunung Sion yang Engkau diami.
3 Lift up your hands against their pride continually; [because of] all that the enemy has done wickedly in your holy places.
Ringankanlah langkah-Mu ke tempat yang rusak terus-menerus; segala-galanya telah dimusnahkan musuh di tempat kudus.
4 And they that hate you have boasted in the midst of your feast; they have set up their standards for signs,
Lawan-lawan-Mu mengaum di tempat pertemuan-Mu dan telah mendirikan panji-panji mereka sebagai tanda.
5 ignorantly as it were in the entrance above;
Kelihatannya seperti orang mengayunkan tinggi-tinggi sebuah kapak kepada kayu-kayuan yang lebat,
6 they cut down its doors at once with axes as in a wood of trees; they have broken it down with hatchet and stone cutter.
dan sekarang ukir-ukirannya seluruhnya dipalu mereka dengan kapak dan beliung;
7 They have burnt your sanctuary with fire to the ground; they have profaned the habitation of your name.
mereka menyulut tempat kudus-Mu dengan api, mereka menajiskan tempat kediaman nama-Mu sampai pada tanah;
8 They have said in their heart, [even] all their kindred together, Come, let us abolish the feasts of the Lord from the earth.
mereka berkata dalam hatinya: "Baiklah kita menindas mereka semuanya!" Mereka membakar segala tempat pertemuan Allah di negeri.
9 We have not seen our signs; there is no longer a prophet; and [God] will not know us any more.
Tanda-tanda kami tidak kami lihat, tidak ada lagi nabi, dan tidak ada di antara kami yang mengetahui berapa lama lagi.
10 How long, O God, shall the enemy reproach? shall the enemy provoke your name forever?
Berapa lama lagi, ya Allah, lawan itu mencela, dan musuh menista nama-Mu terus-menerus?
11 Therefore turn you away your hand, and your right hand from the midst of your bosom for ever?
Mengapa Engkau menarik kembali tangan-Mu, menaruh tangan kanan-Mu di dada?
12 But God is our King of old; he has wrought salvation in the midst of the earth.
Namun Engkau, ya Allah adalah Rajaku dari zaman purbakala, yang melakukan penyelamatan di atas bumi.
13 You did establish the sea, in your might, you did break to pieces the heads of the dragons in the water.
Engkaulah yang membelah laut dengan kekuatan-Mu, yang memecahkan kepala ular-ular naga di atas muka air.
14 You did break to pieces the heads of the dragon; you did give him [for] meat to the Ethiopian nations.
Engkaulah yang meremukkan kepala-kepala Lewiatan, yang memberikannya menjadi makanan penghuni-penghuni padang belantara.
15 You did cleave fountains and torrents; you dried up mighty rivers.
Engkaulah yang membelah mata air dan sungai; Engkaulah yang mengeringkan sungai-sungai yang selalu mengalir.
16 The day is your, and the night is your; you have prepared the sun and the moon.
Punya-Mulah siang, punya-Mulah juga malam. Engkaulah yang menaruh benda penerang dan matahari.
17 You have made all the borders of the earth; you have made summer and spring.
Engkaulah yang menetapkan segala batas bumi, musim kemarau dan musim hujan Engkaulah yang membuat-Nya.
18 Remember this your creation: an enemy has reproached the Lord, and a foolish people has provoked your name.
Ingatlah ini: musuh mencela, ya TUHAN, dan bangsa yang bebal itu menista nama-Mu.
19 Deliver not to the wild beasts a soul that gives praise to you: forget not for ever the souls of your poor.
Janganlah berikan nyawa merpati-Mu kepada binatang liar! Janganlah lupakan terus-menerus nyawa orang-orang-Mu yang tertindas!
20 Look upon your covenant: for the dark [places] of the earth are filled with the habitations of iniquity.
Pandanglah kepada perjanjian, sebab tempat-tempat gelap di bumi penuh sarang-sarang kekerasan.
21 let not the afflicted and shamed one be rejected: the poor and needy shall praise your name.
Janganlah biarkan orang yang terinjak-injak kembali dengan kena noda. Biarlah orang sengsara dan orang miskin memuji-muji nama-Mu.
22 Arise, O God, plead your cause: remember your reproaches that come from the foolish one all the day.
Bangunlah, ya Allah, lakukanlah perjuangan-Mu! Ingatlah akan cela kepada-Mu dari pihak orang bebal sepanjang hari.
23 Forget not the voice of your suppliants: let the pride of them that hate you continually ascend before you.
Janganlah lupa suara lawan-Mu, deru orang-orang yang bangkit melawan Engkau, yang terus-menerus makin keras.
