Psalms 7
1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Chusi the Benjamite. O Lord my God, in you have I trusted: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.
Oh Gospod, moj Bog, vate polagam svoje trdno upanje. Reši me pred vsemi temi, ki me preganjajo in me osvobodi.
2 Lest at any time [the enemy] seize my soul as a lion, while there is none to ransom, nor to save.
Da ne bi moje duše razkosali kakor lev, ki jo raztrga na koščke, medtem ko ni nobenega, da osvobodi.
3 O Lord my God, if I have done this; (if there is unrighteousness in my hands; )
Oh Gospod, moj Bog, če sem to storil, če je krivičnost v mojih rokah,
4 if I have requited with evil those who requited me [with good]; may I then perish empty by means of my enemies.
če sem z zlom nagradil tistega, ki je bil z menoj v miru (da, osvobodil sem tistega, ki je brez vzroka moj sovražnik),
5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, an take it; and let him trample my life on the ground, and lay my glory in the dust. (Pause)
naj sovražnik preganja mojo dušo in jo vzame; da, naj moje življenje pomendra na zemlji in mojo čast položi v prah. (Sela)
6 Arise, O Lord, in your wrath; be exalted in the utmost boundaries of mine enemies: awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which you did command.
Vstani, oh Gospod, v svoji jezi, vzdigni se zaradi besa mojih sovražnikov. Prebudi se zame k sodbi, ki si jo zapovedal.
7 And the congregation of the nations shall compass you: and for this cause do you return on high.
Tako te bo obdajala skupnost ljudstva. Zaradi njih se torej vrni na višavo.
8 The Lord shall judge the nations: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my innocence that is in me.
Gospod bo sodil ljudstvo. Sodi me, oh Gospod, glede na mojo pravičnost in glede na mojo neokrnjenost, ki je v meni.
9 Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end; and [then] you shall direct the righteous, O God that search the hearts and reins.
O naj zlobnost zlobnih pride h koncu; toda utrdi pravičnega. Kajti pravičnim Bog preizkuša srca in notranjosti.
10 My help is righteous, [coming] from God who saves the upright in heart.
Moja obramba je od Boga, ki rešuje iskrene v srcu.
11 God is a righteous judge, and strong, and patient, not inflicting vengeance every day.
Bog sodi pravičnega in Bog je vsak dan jezen na zlobnega.
12 If you will not repent, he will furbish his sword; he has bent his bow, and made it ready.
Če se ta ne spreobrne, bo nabrusil svoj meč, upognil je svoj lok in ga pripravil.
13 And on it he has fitted the instruments of death; he has completed his arrows for the raging ones.
Prav tako je zanj pripravil orodja smrti, svoje puščice je določil zoper preganjalce.
14 Behold, he has travailed with unrighteousness, he has conceived trouble, and brought forth iniquity.
Glej, muči se s krivičnostjo in spočel je vragolijo in obrodil neresnico.
15 He has opened a pit, and dug it up, and he shall fall into the ditch which he has made.
Naredil je jamo in jo izkopal in padel v jarek, ki ga je naredil.
16 His trouble shall return on his own head, and his unrighteousness shall come down on his own crown.
Njegova vragolija se bo vrnila na njegovo lastno glavo in njegovo nasilno delovanje bo prišlo na njegovo lastno tême.
17 I will give thanks to the Lord according to his righteousness; I will sing to the name of the Lord most high.
Hvalil bom Gospoda glede na njegovo pravičnost. Prepeval bom hvalo imenu Gospoda najvišjega.
