Psalms 64

1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to you; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.

Przewodnikowi chóru. Psalm Dawida. Wysłuchaj, o Boże, mego głosu, gdy się modlę; zachowaj moje życie od strachu przed wrogiem.

2 You have sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;

Ukryj mnie przed tajemną radą złoczyńców, przed zgrają czyniących nieprawość;

3 who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;

Którzy naostrzyli swój język jak miecz, nałożyli swoje strzały, słowa jadowite;

4 to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.

Aby strzelać z ukrycia w niewinnego; strzelają znienacka i nikogo się nie boją.

5 They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares; they have said, Who shall see them?

Utwierdzają się w złym zamiarze, zmawiają się, jak ukryć pułapki, i mówią: Któż je zobaczy?

6 They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,

Szukają nieprawości, starannie jej poszukują; ich wnętrze i serce są głębokie.

7 and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,

Ale Bóg wypuści na nich strzałę, nagle odniosą rany;

8 and their tongues have set him at nothing, all that saw them were troubled;

Własny język doprowadzi ich do upadku; wszyscy, którzy ich zobaczą, uciekną.

9 and every man was alarmed, and they related the works of God, and understood his deeds.

I zlękną się wszyscy ludzie, będą opowiadali o dziele Boga i zrozumieją jego czyny.

10 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and hope on him, and all the upright in heart shall be praised.

A sprawiedliwy będzie się weselić w PANU i będzie mu ufał; i będą się chlubili wszyscy prawego serca.
