Psalms 54

1 For the end, among Hymns of instruction by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Behold, is not David hid with us? Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me by your might.

Dem Sangmeister auf Saitenspielen. Eine Unterweisung von David. Als die Siphiter kamen und sprachen zu Saul: Hat sich David nicht bei uns verborgen? O Gott, rette mich durch Deinen Namen und sprich mir Recht durch Deine Macht.

2 O God, hear my prayer; listen to the words of my mouth.

Gott, höre mein Gebet, und nimm zu Ohren die Reden meines Mundes.

3 For strangers have risen up against me, and mighty men have sought my life: they have not set God before them. (Pause)

Denn Fremde sind aufgestanden wider mich, und Trotzige trachten nach meiner Seele, weil sie Gott nicht vor sich setzen. (Selah)

4 For behold! God assists me; and the Lord is the helper of my soul.

Siehe, Gott ist Beistand mir, der Herr ist unter denen, die meine Seele erhalten.

5 He shall return evil to mine enemies; utterly destroy them in your truth.

Das Böse kehre zurück auf meine Gegner! Vertilge sie durch Deine Wahrheit!

6 I will willingly sacrifice to you: I will give thanks to your name, O Lord; for [it is] good.

Freiwillig will ich Dir opfern, will bekennen Deinen Namen, Jehovah, denn er ist gut.

7 For you have delivered me out of all affliction, and mine eye has seen [my desire] upon mine enemies.

Denn aus aller Drangsal errettest Du mich; und auf meine Feinde sieht mein Auge.
