Psalms 50
1 A Psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down [thereof].
Ein Psalm Asaphs. Gott, Gott Jahwe, redet und ruft der Erde vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Untergang.
2 Out of Sion [comes] the excellence of his beauty.
Aus Zion, der Krone der Schönheit, strahlt Gott auf.
3 God, our God, shall come manifestly, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall be kindled before him, and round about him there shall be a very great tempest.
Unser Gott kommt und schweigt nicht. Verzehrendes Feuer geht vor ihm her, und rings um ihn stürmt es gewaltig.
4 He shall summon the heaven above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.
Er ruft dem Himmel droben zu und der Erde, damit er sein Volk richte:
5 Assemble you his saints to him, those that have engaged in a covenant with him upon sacrifices.
“Versammelt mir meine Frommen, die den Bund mit mir beim Opfer schlossen!”
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge. (Pause)
Da verkündigte der Himmel seine Gerechtigkeit; denn Gott ist Richter. (Sela)
7 Hear, my people, and I will speak to you, O Israel: and I will testify to you: I am God, your God.
“Höre, mein Volk, laß mich reden; Israel, laß mich wider dich zeugen: Gott, dein Gott, bin ich!
8 I will not reprove you on account of your sacrifices; for your whole burnt offerings are before me continually.
“Nicht wegen deiner Opfer will ich dich zur Rede setzen - sind doch deine Brandopfer beständig vor mir!
9 I will take no bullocks out of your house, nor he-goats out of your flocks.
“Ich mag nicht Farren aus deinem Hause nehmen, noch Böcke aus deinen Hürden.
10 For all the wild beasts of the thicket are mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.
“Denn mein sind alle Tiere des Waldes, das Vieh auf den Bergen mit ihren Tausenden.
11 I know all the birds of the sky; and the beauty of the field is mine.
“Ich kenne alle Vögel auf den Bergen, und was sich im Gefilde regt, ist mir bewußt.
12 If I should be hungry, I will not tell you: for the world is mine, and the fullness of it.
“Wenn mich hungerte, würde ich dir's nicht sagen; denn mein ist der Erdkreis und was ihn füllt.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
“Esse ich etwa das Fleisch von Stieren oder trinke ich das Blut von Böcken?
14 Offer to God the sacrifice of praise; and pay your vows to the Most High.
“Opfere Gott Dank, so wirst du dem Höchsten deine Gelübde bezahlen!
15 And call upon me in the day of affliction; and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. (Pause)
“Und rufe mich an am Tage der Not: ich will dich erretten und du sollst mich preisen!”
16 But to the sinner God has said, Why do you declare my ordinances, and take up my covenant in your mouth?
Zum Gottlosen aber spricht Gott: “Was hast du meine Satzungen herzuzählen und nimmst meinen Bund in deinen Mund,
17 Whereas you have hated instruction, and have cast my words behind [you].
“während du doch Zucht hassest und meine Worte hinter dich wirfst?
18 If you saw a thief, you ran along with him, and have cast in your lot with adulterers.
“Wenn du einen Dieb sahst, so liefst du mit ihm und mit Ehebrechern hattest du Gemeinschaft.
19 Your mouth has multiplied wickedness, and your tongue has framed deceit.
“Du lässest deinen Mund sich frei in Bosheit ergehen, und deine Zunge flicht Betrug.
20 You did sit and speak against your brother, and did scandalize your mother's son.
“Du sitzest da, redest wider deinen Bruder, bringst Beschimpfung auf den Sohn deiner Mutter.
21 These things you did, and I kept silence: you thought wickedly that I should be like you, [but] I will reprove you, and set [your offenses] before you.
“Solches thatest du, und ich schwieg. Da meintest du, ich sei ganz wie du. “Aber ich will dich zur Rechenschaft ziehn und dir's vor Augen stellen!
22 Now consider these things, you that forget God, lest he rend [you], and there is no deliverer.
“Merkt doch dies, die ihr Gottes vergeßt, daß ich nicht hinwegraffe, ohne daß jemand zu retten vermag.
23 The sacrifice of praise will glorify me: and that is the way wherein I will show to him the salvation of God.
“Wer Dank opfert, ehrt mich, und wer unsträflich wandelt, den will ich seine Lust sehen lassen an Gottes Heil!”
