Psalms 4
1 For the End, a Song of David among [the ]Psalms. When I called upon [him], the God of my righteousness heard me: you have made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and listen to my prayer.
Mai marelui muzician pe instrument cu coarde, un psalm al lui David. Ascultă-mă când strig, Dumnezeul dreptății mele; din strâmtorare m-ai lărgit; ai milă de mine și ascultă-mi rugăciunea.
2 O you sons of men, how long [will you be] slow of heart? therefore do you love vanity, and seek falsehood? (Pause)
Voi, fii ai oamenilor, până când veți întoarce gloria mea în rușine? Până când veți iubi deșertăciunea și veți căuta minciuna? (Selah)
3 But know you that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
Dar să știți că DOMNUL a pus deoparte pentru el pe cel evlavios; DOMNUL va auzi când voi striga către el.
4 Be you angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what you say in your hearts. (Pause)
Cutremurați-vă în uimire și nu păcătuiți; cugetați în inima voastră pe patul vostru și tăceți. (Selah)
5 Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.
Oferiți sacrificiile dreptății și puneți-vă încrederea în DOMNUL.
6 Many say, Who will show us good things? the light of your countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
Sunt mulți cei care spun: Cine ne va arăta bunătate? DOAMNE, înalță peste noi lumina înfățișării tale.
7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
Tu ai pus veselie în inima mea, mai mult decât atunci când grânele lor și vinul lor le-au sporit.
8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely.
Deopotrivă mă voi culca în pace și voi dormi, fiindcă tu, DOAMNE, numai tu mă faci să locuiesc în siguranță.
