Psalms 35
1 [A Psalm] of David. Judge you, O Lord, them that injure me, fight against them that fight against me.
Un Salmo de David. Resiste a mis oponentes, Señor. Pelea con aquellos que están peleando contra mí.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and arise for my help.
Ponte tu armadura y toma tu escudo. Alístate, ven, y ayúdame.
3 Bring forth a sword, and stop [the way] against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I am your salvation.
Dibuja tu lanza y tu jabalina, confronta a los que me persiguen. Dime, “¡Soy tu salvación!”
4 Let them that seek my soul be ashamed and confounded: let them that devise evils against me be turned back and put to shame.
¡Avergüénzalos! ¡Humilla a esos que tratan de matarme! ¡Hazlos volver! ¡Deshonra a aquellos que planean herirme!
5 Let them be as dust before the wind, and an angel of the Lord afflicting them.
Deja que sean como la paja que es arrastrada por el viento; deja que el ángel del Señor los aleje.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and an angel of the Lord persecuting them.
Que su camino sea oscuro y resbaladizo, con el ángel del Señor persiguiéndolos.
7 For without cause they have hid for me their destructive snare: without a cause they have reproached my soul.
Sin razón alguna pusieron una red para capturarme; sin razón cavaron un pozo para atraparme.
8 Let a snare which they know not come upon them; and the gin which they hid take them; and let them fall into the very same snare.
Deja que la runa venga sobre ellos repentinamente; deja que la red que pusieron para mí los atrape; deja que el pozo que cavaron los atrape a ellos.
9 But my soul shall exult in the Lord: it shall delight in his salvation.
Entonces me alegraré en el Señor; estaré feliz en su salvación.
10 All my bones shall say, O Lord, who is like to you? delivering the poor out of the hand of them that are stronger than he, yes, the poor and needy one from them that spoil him.
Cada parte de mí dirá, ¿Quién se puede comparar a ti, Señor? Tú rescatas al débil del fuerte; al pobre y al necesitado de los ladrones.
11 Unjust witnesses arose, and asked me of things I new not.
Testigos hostiles se levantan en mi contra, acusándome de crímenes de los que no sé nada al respecto.
12 They rewarded me evil for good, and bereavement to my soul.
Me devuelven la maldad en lugar del bien. Siento que me voy a rendir.
13 But I, when they troubled me, put on sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting: and my prayer shall return to my [own] bosom.
Pero cuando ellos estuvieron enfermos, me puse ropas de cilicio por piedad hacia ellos. Me negué a mí mismo por medio de ayunos. Que mi oración por ellos retorne en bendiciones.
14 I behaved agreeably towards them as [if it had been] our neighbor [or] brother: I humbled myself as one mourning and sad of countenance.
Me acongojé por ellos, como si ellos fueran mi propia familia o amigos; me incliné en el dolor como si estuviera llorando a mi propia madre.
15 Yet they rejoiced against me, and plagues were plentifully brought against me, and I knew [it] not: they were scattered, but repented not.
Pero cuando estuve en problemas, se reunieron y comenzaron a reírse de mí. Incluso extraños que no me conocen me atacaron, constantemente destrozándome.
16 They tempted me, they sneered at me most contemptuously, they gnashed their teeth upon me.
Como irreligiosos que se burlan de un inválido se reían de mí y me llamaban por sobrenombres, rechinando sus dientes sobre mí.
17 O Lord, when will you look upon me? Deliver my soul from their mischief, mine only-begotten one from the lions.
¿Hasta cuándo, Señor, te quedarás sentado y observando sin actuar? Sálvame de sus crueles ataques; defiende la única vida que tengo de esos leones.
18 I will give thanks to you even in a great congregation: in an abundant people I will praise you.
Y entonces te agradeceré en frente de la gran asamblea y te alabaré en frente de todos los pueblos.
19 Let not them that are mine enemies without a cause rejoice against me; who hate me for nothing, and wink with their eyes.
No dejes que mis enemigos se alegren de mis problemas, aquellos que me odian y dicen mentiras sobre mí, presumiendo sin ningún motivo.
20 For to me they spoke peaceably, but imagined deceits in [their] anger.
No están buscando la paz; inventan mentirás y conspiraciones maliciosas contra la gente inocente y que ama la paz.
21 And they opened wide their mouth upon me; they said Aha, aha, our eyes have seen [it].
Abren sus bocas para hacer acusaciones en mi contra, diciendo, “¡Miren! ¡Miren! ¡Lo vimos con nuestros propios ojos!”
22 You have seen [it], O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, withdraw not [yourself] from me.
Pero Señor, ¡Tú has visto todo esto! ¡Di algo! ¡No te alejes de mí, Señor!
23 Awake, O Lord, and attend to my judgment, [even] to my cause, my God and my Lord.
¡Levántate! ¡Ponte de pie y defiéndeme, mi Señor y mi Dios! ¡Toma mi caso y asegúrate de que se haga justicia!
24 Judge me, O Lord, according to your righteousness, O Lord my God; and let them not rejoice against me.
Reivindícame, mi Señor y mi Dios, porque tú eres justo y correcto. No dejes que se burlen de mí.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, aha, [it is pleasing] to our soul: neither let them say, We have devoured him.
No dejes que digan: “¡Miren! ¡Conseguimos lo que queríamos!” No dejes que digan, “¡Lo destruimos completamente!”
26 Let them be confounded and ashamed together that rejoice at my afflictions: let them be clothed with shame and confusion that speak great swelling words against me.
Haz que sean avergonzados, todos los que se alegran de los problemas en los que estoy. Permite que todos los que están celebrando sobre mi desgracia sean cubiertos de vergüenza y deshonra.
27 Let them that rejoice in my righteousness exult and be glad: and let them say continually, The Lord be magnified, who desire the peace of his servant.
En vez de eso, permite que los que están satisfechos de que he sido reivindicado celebren y griten de alegría. Que siempre digan, “¡Cuán grande es el Señor! Él es feliz cuando sus siervos viven en paz y tienen lo que necesitan”.
28 And my tongue shall meditate on your righteousness, [and] on your praise all the day.
¡A todos hablaré de tu nombre justo y verdadero, y te alabaré todo el día!
