< Psalms 32 >
1 [A Psalm] of instruction by David. Blessed [are they] whose transgressions are forgiven, and who sins are covered.
Ko e Saame akonaki ʻa Tevita. ʻOku monūʻia ia ʻaia kuo fakamolemole ʻa ʻene talangataʻa, pea kuo ʻufiʻufi ʻene angahala.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin, and whose mouth there is no guile.
ʻOku monūʻia ʻae tangata ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai lau ki ai ʻe Sihova ha hia, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha kākā ʻi hono laumālie.
3 Because I kept silence, my bones waxed old, from my crying all the day.
ʻI heʻeku fakalongo pē, naʻe fakaʻaʻau ʻo motuʻa hoku ngaahi hui ʻi heʻeku tangi ʻi he ʻaho kotoa.
4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: I became thoroughly miserable while a thorn was fastened in [me]. (Pause)
He naʻe mamafa ho nima kiate au ʻi he ʻaho mo e pō: naʻe liliu hoku huhuʻa ko e laʻāina ʻoe faʻahitaʻu mafana. (Sila)
5 I acknowledged my sin, and hid not mine iniquity: I said, I will confess mine iniquity to the Lord against myself; and you forgave the ungodliness of my heart. (Pause)
(Sila)
6 Therefore shall every holy one pray to you in a fit time: only in the deluge of many waters they shall not come near to him.
Ko ia ʻe lotu ai kiate koe ʻaia kotoa pē ʻoku anga fakaʻotua ʻi he kuonga ʻe ʻiloʻi ai koe: ko e moʻoni ʻi he ʻoho mai ʻoe ngaahi vai lahi ʻe ʻikai tenau aʻu ʻo ofi kiate ia.
7 You are my refuge from the affliction that encompasses me; my joy, to deliver me from them that have compassed me. (Pause)
Ko koe ko hoku toitoiʻanga; te ke fakamoʻui au mei he mamahi; pea te ke kāpui ʻaki au ʻae ngaahi hiva ʻoe fakamoʻui. (Sila)
8 I will instruct you and guide you in this way wherein you shall go: I will fix mine eyes upon you.
Ko au te u fakapotoʻi koe mo akonakiʻi koe ʻi he hala ʻaia te ke ʻalu ai: te u fakahinohino koe ʻaki hoku mata.
9 Be you not as horse and mule, which have no understanding; [but you must] constrain their jaws with bit and curb, lest they should come near to you.
ʻOua naʻa mou hangē ko e hoosi mo e miuli, ʻoku masiva ʻi he ʻilo: ʻaia ʻoku taʻofi ʻaki honau ngutu ʻae ukamea mo e noʻo, koeʻuhi ke nau haʻu ʻo ofi kiate koe.
10 Many are the scourges of the sinner: but him that hopes in the Lord mercy shall compass about.
ʻE hoko ʻae ngaahi mamahi lahi ki he kakai angakovi: ka ko ia ʻoku falala kia Sihova, ʻe kāpui ʻaki ia ʻae ʻaloʻofa.
11 Be glad in the Lord, and exult, you righteous: and glory, all you that are upright in heart.
Mou fiefia ʻia Sihova, pea nekeneka, ʻakimoutolu ʻoku māʻoniʻoni: pea kalanga ʻi he fiefia, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku angatonu ʻi loto.
