< Psalms 27 >
1 [A Psalm] of David, before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my Saviour; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ti Dafidi. Olúwa ni ìmọ́lẹ̀ mi àti ìgbàlà mi; ta ni èmi yóò bẹ̀rù? Olúwa ni ibi ìsádi ẹ̀mí mi, ẹ̀rù ta ni yóò bà mí?
2 When evil-doers drew near against me to eat up my flesh, my persecutors and mine enemies, they fainted and fell.
Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn búburú kọjú ìjà sí mi láti jẹ ẹran-ara mi, àní àwọn ọ̀tá mi àti àwọn abínúkú mi, wọn yóò kọsẹ̀, wọn yóò sì ṣubú.
3 Though an army should set itself in array against me, my heart shall not be afraid: though war should rise up against me, in this am I confident.
Bí ọmọ-ogun tilẹ̀ yí mi ká tí wọ́n sì dìde sí mi, ọkàn mi kì yóò bẹ̀rù; bí ogun tilẹ̀ dìde sí mi, nínú èyí ni ọkàn mi yóò le.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, this will I earnestly seek: that I should dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life, that I should behold the fair beauty of the Lord, and survey his temple.
Ohun kan ni mo béèrè lọ́dọ̀ Olúwa, òhun ni èmi yóò máa wá kiri: kí èmi kí ó le wà ní ilé Olúwa ní ọjọ́ ayé mi gbogbo, kí èmi: kí ó le kíyèsi ẹwà Olúwa, kí èmi kí ó sì máa wà ní tẹmpili rẹ̀.
5 For in the day of mine afflictions he hid me in his tabernacle: he sheltered me in the secret of his tabernacle; he set me up on a rock.
Nítorí pé ní ìgbà ìpọ́njú òun yóò pa mí mọ́ nínú àgọ́ rẹ̀; níbi ìkọ̀kọ̀ àgọ́ rẹ̀ ni òun yóò pa mí mọ́; yóò sì gbé mi sókè lórí àpáta.
6 And now, behold, he has lifted up mine head over mine enemies: I went round and offered in his tabernacle the sacrifice of joy; I will sing even sing psalms to the Lord.
Ní ìsinsin yìí, a ti gbé orí mi sókè ga ju ti àwọn ọ̀tá mi lọ tí ó yí mí ká; èmi yóò rú ẹbọ nínú àgọ́ rẹ, ẹbọ ariwo àti ti ayọ̀; èmi yóò kọrin àní orin dídùn sí Olúwa.
7 Hear, O Lord, my voice which I have uttered aloud: pity me, and listen to me.
Gbọ́ ohùn mi nígbà tí ẹ̀mí bá à ń pè, Olúwa, ṣe àánú fún mi kí o sì dá mi lóhùn,
8 My heart said to you, I have diligently sought your face: your face, O Lord, I will seek.
Ọkàn mi wí pé, “Wá ojú u rẹ̀!” Ojú rẹ, Olúwa, ni ti èmí ń wá.
9 Turn not your face away from me, turn not you away from your servant in anger: be you my helper, forsake me not; and, O God my Saviour, overlook me not.
Má ṣe fi ojú rẹ pamọ́ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi, má ṣe fi ìbínú sá ìránṣẹ́ rẹ tì; ìwọ tí o ti jẹ́ olùrànlọ́wọ́ mi, Má ṣe fi mí sílẹ̀, má sì ṣe kọ̀ mí, háà! Ọlọ́run ìgbàlà mi.
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord has taken me to himself.
Bí ìyá àti baba bá kọ̀ mí sílẹ̀, Olúwa yóò tẹ́wọ́ gbà mí.
11 Teach me, O Lord, in your way, and guide me in a right path, because of mine enemies.
Kọ́ mi ní ọ̀nà rẹ, Olúwa, kí o sì sìn mi lọ sí ọ̀nà tí ó tẹ́jú nítorí àwọn ọ̀tá mi.
12 Deliver me not over to the desire of them that afflict me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and injustice has lied within herself.
Má ṣe fi mí lé ìfẹ́ àwọn ọ̀tá mi lọ́wọ́, nítorí àwọn ẹlẹ́rìí èké ti dìde sí mi, wọ́n sì mí ìmí ìkà.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Èmi ní ìgbàgbọ́ pé, èmi yóò rí ìre Olúwa ní ilẹ̀ alààyè.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened: yes wait on the Lord.
Dúró de Olúwa; kí ó jẹ alágbára, kí o sì mú ọkàn le àní dúró de Olúwa.
