Psalms 21

1 For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, the king shall rejoice in your strength; and in your salvation he shall greatly exult.

Mai marelui muzician, un psalm al lui David. Împăratul se va bucura în puterea ta, DOAMNE; și cât de mult se va bucura în salvarea ta!

2 You have granted him the desire of his soul, and have not withheld from him the request of his lips. (Pause)

Tu i-ai dat dorința inimii sale și nu ai refuzat cererea buzelor sale. (Selah)

3 For you have prevented him with blessings of goodness: you has set upon his head a crown of precious stone.

Fiindcă îl întâmpini cu binecuvântările bunătății; pui o coroană de aur pur pe capul lui.

4 He asked life of you, and you gave him length of days for ever and ever.

A cerut viață de la tine și i-ai dat-o: lungime a zilelor pentru totdeauna și întotdeauna.

5 His glory is great in your salvation: you will crown him with glory and majesty.

Gloria lui este mare în salvarea ta, onoare și maiestate ai pus peste el.

6 For you will give him a blessing for ever and ever: you will gladden him with joy with your countenance.

Fiindcă l-ai făcut cel mai binecuvântat pentru totdeauna; l-ai înveselit peste măsură cu înfățișarea ta.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Highest he shall not be moved.

Pentru că împăratul se încrede în DOMNUL și prin mila celui Preaînalt nu se va clătina.

8 Let your hand be found by all your enemies: let your right hand find all that hate you.

Mâna ta va găsi pe toți dușmanii tăi; dreapta ta va găsi pe cei ce te urăsc.

9 You shall make them as a fiery oven at the time of your presence: the Lord shall trouble them in his anger, and fire shall devour them.

Îi vei face ca un cuptor încins în timpul mâniei tale; DOMNUL îi va înghiți în furia lui și focul îi va mistui.

10 You shall destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from [among] the sons of men.

Vei distruge rodul lor de pe pământ și sămânța lor de printre copiii oamenilor.

11 For they intended evils against you; they imagined a device which they shall by no means be able to perform.

Pentru că au vrut să facă răul împotriva ta; au închipuit un plan viclean pe care nu sunt în stare să îl îndeplinească.

12 For you shall make them [turn their] back in your latter end, you will prepare their face.

De aceea îi vei face să întoarcă spatele când vei pregăti săgețile pe corzile tale împotriva feței lor.

13 Be you exalted, O Lord, in your strength: we will sing and praise your mighty acts.

Fii înălțat, DOAMNE, în puterea ta; astfel noi vom cânta și vom lăuda puterea ta.
