Psalms 21

1 For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, the king shall rejoice in your strength; and in your salvation he shall greatly exult.

संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. दावीद का एक स्तोत्र. याहवेह, आपकी शक्ति पर राजा हर्षित है. आपके द्वारा प्रदान किये गये उद्धार से राजा का हर्षातिरेक देखते ही बनता है!

2 You have granted him the desire of his soul, and have not withheld from him the request of his lips. (Pause)

आपने उसके हृदय का मनोरथ पूर्ण किया है, आपने उसके अनुरोध को पूर्ण करने में अस्वीकार नहीं किया.

3 For you have prevented him with blessings of goodness: you has set upon his head a crown of precious stone.

आपने उत्कृष्ट आशीषों के साथ उसका स्वागत किया है, आपने उसके सिर को कुन्दन के मुकुट से सुशोभित किया है.

4 He asked life of you, and you gave him length of days for ever and ever.

राजा ने आपसे जीवन की प्रार्थना की, आपने उसे जीवनदान किया— हां, सदैव का जीवन.

5 His glory is great in your salvation: you will crown him with glory and majesty.

आपके द्वारा दिए गये विजय से राजा की महिमा ऊंची हुई है; आपने उसे ऐश्वर्य एवं तेज से विभूषित किया है.

6 For you will give him a blessing for ever and ever: you will gladden him with joy with your countenance.

निःसंदेह आपने उसे सर्वदा के लिये आशीषें प्रदान की हैं, अपनी उपस्थिति के आनंद से आपने उसे उल्‍लसित किया है.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Highest he shall not be moved.

यह इसलिये कि महाराज का भरोसा याहवेह पर है; सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर की करुणा, प्रेम के कारण राजा अटल रहेगा.

8 Let your hand be found by all your enemies: let your right hand find all that hate you.

आप समस्त शत्रुओं को ढूंढ़ निकालेंगे; आपका बाहुबल उन सभी को कैद कर लाएगा, जो आपसे घृणा करते हैं.

9 You shall make them as a fiery oven at the time of your presence: the Lord shall trouble them in his anger, and fire shall devour them.

आपके प्रकट होने पर, वे सभी जलते भट्टी में जल जाएंगे. अपने कोप में याहवेह उन्हें निगल जाएगा, उनकी अग्नि उन्हें भस्म कर देगी.

10 You shall destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from [among] the sons of men.

आप उनकी सन्तति को पृथ्वी से मिटा देंगे, उनके वंशज मनुष्यों के मध्य नहीं रह जाएंगे.

11 For they intended evils against you; they imagined a device which they shall by no means be able to perform.

यद्यपि आपके विरुद्ध उनकी योजना बुराई करने की है तथा वे युक्ति भी रचेंगे, वे सफल न हो पाएंगे.

12 For you shall make them [turn their] back in your latter end, you will prepare their face.

क्योंकि जब आप धनुष से उन पर निशाना लगाएंगे, आपके कारण वे पीठ दिखाकर भाग खड़े होंगे.

13 Be you exalted, O Lord, in your strength: we will sing and praise your mighty acts.

अपनी शक्ति में, याहवेह, आप ऊंचे होते जाएं; हम आपके सामर्थ्य का गुणगान करेंगे.
