Psalms 140
1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Rescue me, O Lord, from the evil man; deliver me from the unjust man.

2 Who have devised injustice in their hearts; all the day they prepared war.
nihcae loe sethaih khue to poek o; ni thoekkruek misatuk hanah amkhueng o.
3 They have sharpened their tongue as [the tongue] of a serpent; the poison of asps is under their lips. (Pause)
Nihcae loe palai to pahui palai baktiah taak o; nihcae ih pahni thungah pahui sae kasoe tui to oh. (Selah)
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the sinner; rescue me from unjust men; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
Aw Angraeng, kasae kaminawk ih ban thung hoiah na pakaa ah; poeksae kami ih ban thung hoiah na pakaa ah; nihcae loe ka khok tangkan amthaeksak hanah poek o.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and have stretched out ropes [for] snares for my feet; they set a stumbling block for me near the path. (Pause)
Amoek kaminawk mah kai hanah tamquta hoi thaang ang patung pae o moe, qui to payang o; ka caehhaih loklam ah palok payang o moe, dongh patung o. (Selah)
6 I said to the Lord, You are my God; listen, O Lord, to the voice of my supplication.
Angraeng khaeah, nang loe kai ih Sithaw ah na oh, tiah ka thuih; Aw Angraeng, tahmen kang hnikhaih hae tahngai ah.
7 O Lord God, the strength of my salvation; you have screened my head in the day of battle.
Aw Angraeng Sithaw, thacak kai akrangkung, misatukhaih niah ka lu hae nang khuk pae boeh.
8 Deliver me not, O Lord, to the sinner, according to my desire: they have devised [mischief] against me; forsake me not, lest they should be exalted. (Pause)
Aw Angraeng, kasae kaminawk koehhaih to paek hmah; nihcae poekhaih doeh koepsak hmah, to tih ai nahaeloe nihcae loe amoek o moeng tih. (Selah)
9 [As for] the head of them that compass me, the mischief of their lips shall cover them.
Kai takui kaminawk ih lu loe, angmacae pahni hoi thuih ih sethaih mah khuk nasoe.
10 Coals of fire shall fall upon them on the earth; and you shall cast them down in afflictions: they shall not bear up [under them].
Nihcae nuiah hmai kamngaeh to krah nasoe; nihcae angthawk o let han ai ah, kangqong hmai thungah, tangqom kathuk thungah va o nasoe.
11 A talkative man shall not prosper on the earth: evils shall hunt the unrighteous man to destruction.
Sethaih lok thui thaih kami loe prae thungah om hmah nasoe; to baktih poeksae kami loe a hnukah sethaih mah patom nasoe.
12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy ones.
Patangkhang kami to Angraeng mah khetzawn, amtang kami to toenghaih hoiah lok a caek.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name: the upright shall dwell in your presence.
Tangtang ni katoeng kaminawk mah loe na hmin to saphaw o tih; poektoeng kaminawk loe na hmaa ah om o tih.
