Psalms 138

1 A Psalm for David, of Aggaeus and Zacharias. I will give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; and I will sing psalms to you before the angels; for you have heard all the words of my mouth.

Davidin. Minä kiitän sinua kaikesta sydämestäni: jumalain edessä minä sinulle kiitosta veisaan.

2 I will worship toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name, on account of your mercy and your truth; for you have magnified your holy name above every thing.

Minä tahdon kumartaen rukoilla sinun pyhän templis puoleen, ja kiittää sinun nimeäs, sinun armos ja totuutes tähden; sillä sinä teit nimes ja sanas suureksi kaikkein ylitse.

3 In whatever day I shall call upon you, hear me speedily; you shall abundantly provide me with your power in my soul.

Koska minä sinua avukseni huudan, niin sinä kuulet minua, ja annat sielulleni suuren väkevyyden.

4 Let all the kings of the earth, o Lord, give thanks to you; for they have heard all the words of your mouth.

Herra! sinua kiittävät kaikki kuninkaat maan päällä, että he kuulevat sinun suus sanoja,

5 And let them sing in the ways of the Lord; for great is the glory of the Lord.

Ja veisaavat Herran teille, että Herran kunnia on suuri.

6 For the Lord is high, and [yet] regards the lowly; and he knows high things from afar off.

Sillä Herra on korkia, ja katselee nöyriä, ja ylpiät tuntee kaukaa.

7 Though I should walk in the midst of affliction, you will quicken me; you have stretched forth your hands against the wrath of mine enemies, and your right hand has saved me.

Jos minä vaeltaisin ahdistuksen keskellä, niin sinä virvoitat minua, ja lähetät kätes vihollisteni vihan päälle: sinun oikia kätes varjelee minua.

8 O Lord, you shall recompense [them] on my behalf: your mercy, O Lord, [endures] for ever: overlook not the works of your hands.

Herra tekee siihen lopun minun tähteni: Herra, sinun laupiutes on ijankaikkinen, älä käsialaas hylkää!
