Psalms 138
1 A Psalm for David, of Aggaeus and Zacharias. I will give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; and I will sing psalms to you before the angels; for you have heard all the words of my mouth.
Een psalm van David. Ik zal U loven met mijn gehele hart; in de tegenwoordigheid der goden zal ik U psalmzingen.
2 I will worship toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name, on account of your mercy and your truth; for you have magnified your holy name above every thing.
Ik zal mij nederbuigen naar het paleis Uwer heiligheid, en ik zal Uw Naam loven, om Uw goedertierenheid en om Uw waarheid; want Gij hebt vanwege Uw gansen Naam Uw woord groot gemaakt.
3 In whatever day I shall call upon you, hear me speedily; you shall abundantly provide me with your power in my soul.
Ten dage, als ik riep, zo hebt Gij mij verhoord; Gij hebt mij versterkt met kracht in mijn ziel.
4 Let all the kings of the earth, o Lord, give thanks to you; for they have heard all the words of your mouth.
Alle koningen der aarde zullen U, o HEERE! loven, wanneer zij gehoord zullen hebben de redenen Uws monds.
5 And let them sing in the ways of the Lord; for great is the glory of the Lord.
En zij zullen zingen van de wegen des HEEREN, want de heerlijkheid des HEEREN is groot.
6 For the Lord is high, and [yet] regards the lowly; and he knows high things from afar off.
Want de HEERE is hoog, nochtans ziet Hij den nederige aan, en den verhevene kent Hij van verre.
7 Though I should walk in the midst of affliction, you will quicken me; you have stretched forth your hands against the wrath of mine enemies, and your right hand has saved me.
Als ik wandel in het midden der benauwdheid, maakt Gij mij levend; Uw hand strekt Gij uit tegen den toorn mijner vijanden, en Uw rechterhand behoudt mij.
8 O Lord, you shall recompense [them] on my behalf: your mercy, O Lord, [endures] for ever: overlook not the works of your hands.
De HEERE zal het voor mij voleinden; Uw goedertierenheid, HEERE! is in eeuwigheid; en laat niet varen de werken Uwer handen.
