Psalms 123

1 A Song of Degrees. To you who dwell in heaven have I lifted up mine eyes.

சீயோன் மலை ஏறும்போது பாடும் பாடல். பரலோகத்தின் சிங்காசனத்தில் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறவரே, நான் உம்மை நோக்கி என் கண்களை உயர்த்தி மன்றாடுகிறேன்.

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants [are directed] to the hands of their masters, [and] as the eyes of a maidservant to the hands of her mistress; so our eyes [are directed] to the Lord our God, until he have mercy upon us.

அடிமைகளின் கண்கள் தங்கள் எஜமானுடைய கரத்தை நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பதுபோலவும், அடிமைப்பெண்ணின் கண்கள் தன் எஜமாட்டியினுடைய கரத்தை நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பதுபோலவும், எங்கள் கண்களும் எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா எங்களுக்கு இரக்கம் காண்பிக்கும்வரை, அவரையே நோக்கிப்பார்க்கின்றன.

3 Have pity upon us, O Lord, have pity upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

எங்கள்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும், யெகோவாவே, எங்கள்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்; அதிகமான அவமதிப்பை நாங்கள் சகித்துக்கொண்டோம்.

4 [Yes], our soul has been exceedingly filled [with it]: [let] the reproach [be] to them that are at ease, and contempt to the proud.

பெருமைக்காரரின் ஏளனத்தையும், அகங்காரம் கொண்டவர்களின் அதிகமான அவமதிப்பையும் நாங்கள் சகித்துக்கொண்டோம்.
