Psalms 118
1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Oh zahvaljujte se Gospodu, ker je dober, ker njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
2 Let now the house of Israel say, that [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Naj sedaj reče Izrael, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
3 Let now the house of Aaron say, that [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Naj sedaj reče Aronova hiša, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
4 Let now all that fear the Lord say, that [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Naj sedaj rečejo tisti, ki se bojijo Gospoda, da njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
5 I called on the Lord out of affliction: and he listened to me, [so as to bring me] into a wide place.
V tegobi sem klical h Gospodu; Gospod mi je odgovoril in me postavil na velik kraj.
6 The Lord is my helper; and I will not fear what man shall do to me.
Gospod je na moji strani; ne bom se bal, kaj mi more storiti človek?
7 The Lord is my helper; and I shall see [my desire] upon mine enemies.
Gospod jemlje moj delež s tistimi, ki mi pomagajo, zato bom videl svojo željo na tistih, ki me sovražijo.
8 [It is] better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man.
Bolje je zaupati v Gospoda, kakor zaupanje polagati v človeka.
9 [It is] better to hope in the Lord, than to hope in princes.
Bolje je zaupati v Gospoda, kakor zaupanje polagati v prince.
10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them.
Vsi narodi so me obkrožili, toda uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
11 They completely compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them.
Obkrožili so me; da, obkrožili so me, toda uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
12 They compassed me about as bees [do] a honeycomb, and they burst into flame as fire among thorns: but in the name of the Lord I repulsed them.
Obkrožili so me kakor čebele; pogašeni so kakor ogenj iz trnja, kajti uničil jih bom v Gospodovem imenu.
13 I was thrust, and sorely shaken, that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.
Kruto si me sunil, da bi lahko padel, toda Gospod mi je pomagal.
14 The Lord is my strength and my song, and is become my salvation.
Gospod je moja moč in pesem in postal je rešitev moje duše.
15 The voice of exultation and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord has wrought mightily.
Glas veselja in rešitve duš je v šotorskih svetiščih pravičnih; Gospodova desnica dela hrabro.
16 The right hand of the Lord has exalted me: the right hand of the Lord has wrought powerfully.
Gospodova desnica je vzvišena, Gospodova desnica dela hrabro.
17 I shall not die, but live, and recount the works of the Lord.
Ne bom umrl, temveč živel in oznanjal Gospodova dela.
18 The Lord has chastened me sore: but he has not given me up to death.
Gospod me je boleče okaral, toda ni me izročil smrti.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and give praise to the Lord.
Odprite mi velika vrata pravičnosti; šel bom vanje in bom hvalil Gospoda,
20 This is the gate of the Lord: the righteous shall enter by it.
ta Gospodova velika vrata, v katera bodo vstopali pravični.
21 I will give thanks to you; because you have heard me, and are become my salvation.
Hvalil te bom, kajti slišal si me in postal si rešitev moje duše.
22 The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner.
Kamen, ki so ga graditelji odklonili, je postal glava vogalnemu kamnu.
23 This has been done of the Lord; and it is wonderful in our eyes.
To je Gospodovo delo, to je čudovito v naših očeh.
24 This is the day which the Lord has made: let us exult and rejoice in it.
To je dan, ki ga je naredil Gospod; veselili se bomo in bili veseli v njem.
25 O Lord, save now: O Lord, send now prosperity.
Reši sedaj, rotim te, oh Gospod. Oh Gospod, rotim te, pošlji uspevanje sedaj.
26 Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
Blagoslovljen bodi, kdor prihaja v Gospodovem imenu. Blagoslavljamo vas iz Gospodove hiše.
27 God is the Lord, and he has shined upon us: celebrate the feast with thick [branches, binding the victims] even to the horns of the altar.
Bog je Gospod, ki nam je pokazal svetlobo. Žrtev povežite z vrvmi, celó k oltarnim rogovom.
28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks: you are my God, and I will exalt you. I will give thanks to you, for you have heard me, and are become my salvation.
Ti si moj Bog in tebe bom hvalil; ti si moj Bog, poviševal te bom.
29 Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Oh zahvaljujte se Gospodu, ker je dober, kajti njegovo usmiljenje traja večno.
