Psalms 116

1 Alleluia. I am well pleased, because the Lord will listen to the voice of my supplication.

١ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ الرَّبَّ لأَنَّهُ يَسْمَعُ ابْتِهَالِي وَيَسْتَجِيبُ إِلَى تَضَرُّعَاتِي.

2 Because he has inclined his ear to me, therefore will I call upon him while I live.

٢ أَمَالَ أُذُنَهُ إِلَيَّ لِذَلِكَ أَدْعُوهُ مَادُمْتُ حَيًّا.

3 The pangs of death compassed me; the dangers of hell found me: I found affliction and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

٣ طَوَّقَتْنِي حِبَالُ الْمَوْتِ. أَطْبَقَ عَلَيَّ رُعْبُ الْهَاوِيَةِ. قَاسَيْتُ ضِيقاً وَحُزْناً. (Sheol h7585)

4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: O Lord, deliver my soul.

٤ فَدَعَوْتُ الرَّبَّ: آهِ يَا رَبُّ نَجِّ نَفْسِي!

5 The Lord is merciful and righteous; yes, our God has pity.

٥ الرَّبُّ حَنُونٌ وَبَارٌّ. إِلَهُنَا رَحِيمٌ.

6 The Lord preserves the simple: I was brought low, and he delivered me.

٦ الرَّبُّ حَافِظُ الْبُسَطَاءِ. تَذَلَّلْتُ فَخَلَّصَنِي.

7 Return to your rest, O my soul; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

٧ عُودِي يَا نَفْسِي إِلَى طُمَأْنِينَتِكِ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ أَحْسَنَ إِلَيْكِ.

8 For he has delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

٨ لأَنَّكَ يَا رَبُّ أَنْقَذْتَ نَفْسِي مِنَ الْمَوْتِ، وَعَيْنِي مِنَ الدَّمْعِ، وَقَدَمَيَّ مِنَ التَّعَثُّرِ،

9 I shall be well-pleasing before the Lord in the land of the living.

٩ لِذَلِكَ أَسْلُكُ بِطَاعَةٍ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ فِي دِيَارِ الأَحْيَاءِ.

10 Alleluia. I believed, therefore I have spoken: but I was greatly afflicted.

١٠ آمَنْتُ لِذَلِكَ تَكَلَّمْتُ. أَنَا عَانَيْتُ كَثِيراً.

11 And I said in mine amazement, Every man is a liar.

١١ وَقُلْتُ فِي حَيْرَتِي: «جَمِيعُ الْبَشَرِ كَاذِبُونَ».

12 What shall I render to the Lord for all the things wherein he has rewarded me?

١٢ مَاذَا أَرُدُّ لِلرَّبِّ مُقَابِلَ كُلِّ مَا أَبْدَاهُ نَحْوي مِنْ حُسْنِ الصَّنِيعِ؟

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

١٣ سَأَتَنَاوَلُ كَأْسَ الْخَلاصِ، وَأَدْعُو بِاسْمِ الرَّبِّ.

14 I will pay my vows to the Lord, in the presence of all his people.

١٤ أُوْفِي نُذُورِي لِلرَّبِّ أَمَامَ كُلِّ شَعْبِهِ.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

١٥ عَزِيزٌ فِي عَيْنَي الرَّبِّ مَوْتُ قِدِّيسِيهِ.

16 O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, and the son of your handmaid: you have burst by bonds asunder.

١٦ آهِ يَا رَبُّ أَنَا عَبْدُكَ. أَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ. أَنْتَ حَلَلْتَ قُيُودِي.

17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of praise, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

١٧ لَكَ أُقَدِّمُ ذَبَائِحَ الشُّكْرِ، وَأَدْعُو بِاسْمِكَ.

18 I will pay my vows to the Lord, in the presence of all his people,

١٨ أُوْفِي نُذُورِي لِلرَّبِّ أَمَامَ كُلِّ شَعْبِهِ.

19 in the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of you, Jerusalem.

١٩ فِي دِيَارِ بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ، فِي وَسَطِكِ يَا أُورُشَلِيمُ. هَلِّلُويَا.
