Psalms 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, because of your mercy and your truth;
Nem nékünk Uram, nem nékünk, hanem a te nevednek adj dicsőséget, a te kegyelmedért és hívségedért!
2 lest at any time the nations should say, Where is their God?
Miért mondanák a pogányok: Hol van hát az ő Istenök?
3 But our God has done in heaven and on earth, whatever he has pleased.
Pedig a mi Istenünk az égben van, és a mit akar, azt mind megcselekszi.
4 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.
Azoknak bálványa ezüst és arany, emberi kezek munkája.
5 They have a mouth, but they can’t speak; they have eyes, but they can’t see:
Szájok van, de nem szólanak; szemeik vannak, de nem látnak;
6 they have ears, but they can’t hear; they have noses, but they can’t smell;
Füleik vannak, de nem hallanak; orruk van, de nem szagolnak;
7 they have hands, but they can’t handle; they have feet, but they can’t walk: they can’t speak through their throat.
Kezeik vannak, de nem tapintanak, lábaik vannak, de nem járnak, nem szólanak az ő torkukkal.
8 Let those that make them become like to them, and all who trust in them.
Hasonlók legyenek azokhoz készítőik, és mindazok, a kik bíznak bennök!
9 The house of Israel trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
Izráel! te az Úrban bízzál; az ilyenek segítsége és paizsa ő.
10 The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
Áronnak háza! az Úrban bízzál; az ilyenek segítsége és paizsa ő.
11 They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord: he is their helper and defender.
A kik félitek az Urat, az Úrban bízzatok; az ilyenek segítsége és paizsa ő.
12 The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us: he has blessed the house of Israel, he has blessed the house of Aaron.
Az Úr megemlékezik mi rólunk és megáld minket; megáldja Izráel házát, megáldja Áronnak házát.
13 He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
Megáldja azokat, a kik félik az Urat, a kicsinyeket és a nagyokat.
14 The Lord add [blessings] to you and to your children.
Szaporítson titeket az Úr, titeket és a ti fiaitokat.
15 Blessed are you of the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth.
Áldottai vagytok ti az Úrnak, a ki teremtette a mennyet és a földet.
16 The heaven of heavens [belongs] to the Lord: but he has given the earth to the sons of men.
Az egek az Úrnak egei, de a földet az ember fiainak adta.
17 The dead shall not praise you, O Lord, nor any that go down to Hades.
Nem a meghaltak dicsérik az Urat, sem nem azok, a kik alászállanak a csendességbe.
18 But we, the living, will bless the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
De mi áldjuk az Urat mostantól fogva mindörökké. Dicsérjétek az Urat!
