Psalms 108

1 Song of a Psalm by David. O God, my heart is ready, my heart is ready; I will sing and sing psalms with my glory.

Canto. Salmo di Davide. Il mio cuore è ben disposto, o Dio, io canterò e salmeggerò, e la mia gloria pure.

2 Awake, lute and harp; I will awake early.

Destatevi, saltèro e cetra, io voglio risvegliare l’alba.

3 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the people; I will sing praise to you among the Gentiles.

Io ti celebrerò fra i popoli, o Eterno, e a te salmeggerò fra le nazioni.

4 For your mercy is great above the heavens, and your truth [reaches] to the clouds.

Perché grande al disopra de’ cieli è la tua benignità e la tua fedeltà giunge fino alle nuvole.

5 Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens; and your glory above all the earth.

Innalzati, o Dio, al disopra de’ cieli, risplenda su tutta la terra la tua gloria!

6 That your beloved [ones] may be delivered, save with your right hand, and hear me. God has spoken in his sanctuary;

Affinché i tuoi diletti sian liberati, salvaci con la tua destra e ci esaudisci.

7 I will be exalted, and will divide Sicima, and will measure out the valley of tents.

Iddio ha parlato nella sua santità: Io trionferò, spartirò Sichem e misurerò la valle di Succot.

8 Galaad is mine; and Manasses is mine; and Ephraim is the help of mine head; Judas is my king;

Mio è Galaad e mio è Manasse, ed Efraim è la forte difesa del mio capo; Giuda è il mio scettro.

9 Moab is the caldron of my hope; over Idumea will I cast my sandal; the Philistines are made subject to me.

Moab è il bacino dove mi lavo; sopra Edom getterò il mio sandalo; sulla Filistia manderò gridi di trionfo.

10 Who will bring me into the fortified city? or who will guide me to Idumea?

Chi mi condurrà nella città forte? Chi mi menerà fino in Edom?

11 Will not you, O God, who have rejected us? and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?

Non sarai tu, o Dio, che ci hai rigettati e non esci più, o Dio, coi nostri eserciti?

12 Give us help from tribulation: for vain is the help of man.

Dacci aiuto per uscir dalla distretta, poiché vano è il soccorso dell’uomo.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly; and he will bring to nothing our enemies.

Con Dio noi faremo prodezze, ed egli schiaccerà i nostri nemici.
