< Proverbs 7 >
1 [My] son, keep my words, and hide with you my commandments. [My] son, honor the Lord, and you shall be strong; and fear none but him:
Ka capa, ka thuih ih loknawk hae pakuem ah, kang paek ih loknawk to palung thungah suem ah.
2 keep my commandments, and you shall live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [your] eyes.
Kang paek ih loknawk to pakuemh loe, hing haih ah; kang patuk ih lok to na mikmu baktiah suem ah.
3 And bind them on your fingers, and write [them] on the table of your heart.
Na banpazung nuiah komh loe, na palung thungah tarik ah.
4 Say that wisdom is your sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for yourself;
Palunghahaih khaeah, Nang loe ka tanuh baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah loe, panoekhaih khaeah, Nang loe ka canawk baktiah na oh, tiah thui ah;
5 that she may keep you from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail you with flattering words.
to tiah na sak nahaeloe zaehaih sak koeh nongpata, minawk zoek thaih nongpata ban thung hoiah na pakaa tih.
6 For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
Ka im thokbuem hoi ka khet naah ka hnuk ih hmuen loe,
7 passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
poekhaih tawn ai kami rumramnawk thungah ka khet naah, thendoengnawk thungah, poekhaih tawn ai thendoeng maeto ka hnuk.
8 and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
To kami loe nongpata ohhaih loklam im takii bang hoiah to nongpata ohhaih im bangah a caeh,
9 when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
Duembang khoving, khoving qum taning tue phak naah loe,
10 and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
khenah, tangzat zaw khukbuen angkhuk, minawk kazoek thaih nongpata loe anih hnuk hanah angzoh.
11 And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
To nongpata loe palungthah moe, lok doeh ho parai; anih loe angmah ih im ah doeh om vai ai.
12 For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
Anih loe tasa bangah tacawt moe, kami angpophaih loklam, lam takii kruekah minawk to a zing.
13 Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
To nongpata mah anih to naeh moe, a mok; azathaih mikhmai tawn ai ah anih khaeah,
14 I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
misa angdaeh angbawnhaih sak han ka tawnh; vaihniah lokkamhaih ka koepsak boeh.
15 therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; [and] I have found you.
To pongah nang hnuk hanah kang zoh, palung tang hoi nang to kang pakrong, vaihi loe kang hnuk boeh.
16 I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
Rong congca kaom Izip prae ih, puu kahni hoiah ka iihhaih ahmuen to ka khuk het boeh.
17 I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
Hmuihoih tui myrrh, aloe, cinnamon hoiah iihkhun to ka bawh boeh.
18 Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
Angzo ah, khawnbang khodai khoek to amlunghaih hoiah angkom hoi si; amlunghaih hoiah kanawm acaeng hoi si!
19 For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
Ka sava loe im ah om ai, angthla parai kholong ah a caeh ving.
20 having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
Anih loe phoisa tabu koi mongah phoisa to pacaeng pongah, khrah akoep ai karoek to im ah amlaem mak ai, tiah a naa.
21 So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
Lokthuih kophaih hoiah anih to a zoek moe, kanaem lok hoiah anih to pazawk.
22 And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
Anih loe boh hanah hoih ih maitaw, thaang kacawh tasuk baktiah to nongpata hnukah bang roep;
23 and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
anih loe panoekhaih tamsi pongah, palaa mah anih ih pathin to kaat ai karoek to, dongh pongah kaman tavaa baktiah a hinghaih to boengsak.
24 Now then, [my] son, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
To pongah ka caanawk, ka lok to tahngai oh loe, ka thuih ih lok to pakuem oh.
25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways:
To nongpata hnukah na poekhaih caeh o sak hmah loe, to nongpata ih loklam doeh pazui o hmah.
26 for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
Anih mah kami paroeai amtimsak boeh; ue, paroeai thacak kaminawk doeh anih mah hum boeh.
27 Her house is the way of hell, leading down to the chambers of death. (Sheol )
Anih ih im loe hell caehhaih manglai lam ah oh moe, duekhaih imthung ah akun tathuk. (Sheol )
