< Proverbs 29 >

1 A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: for when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy.
Moto oyo atiaka moto makasi soki bapameli ye, akokweyisama na pwasa mpe akobika te.
2 When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: but when the ungodly rule, men mourn.
Soki bato ya sembo bakomi ebele, bato basepelaka; kasi soki bato mabe bakomi koyangela, bato balelaka.
3 When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.
Moto oyo alingaka bwanya asalaka esengo ya tata na ye, kasi moto oyo alandaka basi ya ndumba akosilisa bomengo na ye nyonso.
4 A righteous king establishes a country: but a transgressor destroys [it].
Mokonzi oyo akambaka na bosembo ayeisaka kimia na mokili na ye, kasi mokonzi oyo afutisaka mpako ebele abebisaka mokili yango.
5 He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, entangles his own feet in it.
Moto oyo alobaka na moninga na ye maloba ya sukali atielaka ye motambo na se ya matambe.
6 A great snare [is spread] for a sinner: but the righteous shall be in joy and gladness.
Lisumu ya moto mabe ezalaka na motambo, kasi moto ya sembo agangaka na esengo mpe asepelaka.
7 A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: but the ungodly understands not knowledge; and the poor man has not an understanding mind.
Moto ya sembo ayebaka pasi ya babola, kasi moto mabe ayebaka na ye kutu yango te.
8 Lawless men burn down a city: but wise men turn away wrath.
Batioli batiaka mobulu kati na engumba, kasi bato ya bwanya basilisaka kanda.
9 A wise man shall judge nations: but a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not.
Soki moto ya bwanya akei kosamba elongo na moto ya liboma, ezala asiliki to aseki, akotikala kozala na kimia te.
10 Bloody men hate a holy [person], but the upright will seek his soul.
Bato oyo basopaka makila balingaka bato ya sembo te, kasi bato malamu balukaka bato ya sembo.
11 A fool utters all is mind: but the wise reserves his in part.
Zoba alandaka baposa nyonso ya motema na ye, kasi moto ya bwanya akangaka yango mpe akitisaka yango.
12 When a king hearkens to unjust language, all his subjects are transgressors.
Soki mokonzi akomi koyoka makambo ya lokuta, basali na ye nyonso bakokoma bato mabe.
13 When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both.
Mobola mpe monyokoli bazali na likambo moko ya lisanga: Yawe angengisaka miso ya bango mibale.
14 When a king judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for a testimony.
Mokonzi oyo asambisaka babola na bosembo, kiti na ye ya bokonzi ekolendisama tango nyonso.
15 Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: but an erring child disgraces his parents.
Fimbu mpe pamela epesaka bwanya, kasi mwana oyo basundola ayokisaka mama na ye soni.
16 When the ungodly abound, sins abound: but when they fall, the righteous are warned.
Soki bato mabe bakomi ebele, mabe mpe ekomaka ebele; kasi bato ya sembo bakomona bango kokweya.
17 Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest; and he shall give honor to your soul.
Pesa mwana na yo etumbu, bongo okozala na kimia mpe akotondisa motema na yo na esengo.
18 There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed.
Soki emoniseli ezali te, bato bakotambola ngulungulu. Esengo na moto oyo atosaka Mobeko!
19 A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: for even if he understands, still he will not obey.
Bapamelaka mosali na maloba te; pamba te akososola, kasi akoyoka te.
20 If you see a man hasty in [his] words, know that the fool has hope rather than he.
Soki omoni moto kowela koloba liboso ete akanisa, malamu kotia elikya na zoba, kasi na ye te.
21 He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.
Moto oyo alengelaka mosali na ye wuta bolenge akosuka na kokomisa ye moto makasi.
22 A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.
Moto ya kanda amemaka koswana, mpe moto oyo atombokaka noki akomaka na mabe koleka.
23 Pride brings a man low, but the Lord upholds the humble-minded with honor.
Lolendo ya moto ekitisaka ye, kasi moto ya komikitisa azwaka lokumu.
24 He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: and if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it,
Moto oyo akabolaka biloko elongo na moyibi amiyinaka; ayokaka bilakeli mabe, kasi amekaka te kofunda ye.
25 [they] fearing and reverencing men [unreasonably] have been overthrown, but he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: but he that trusts in his master shall be safe.
Kobanga bato ezalaka motambo na se ya matambe, kasi Yawe abatelaka moto oyo atiaka elikya na Ye.
26 Many wait on the favor of rulers; but justice comes to a man from the Lord.
Bato ebele balukaka kokoma balingami ya mokonzi, nzokande ezali Yawe nde apesaka oyo ekoki na moto na moto.
27 A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.
Bato ya sembo bayinaka moto ya masumu, mpe moto mabe ayinaka etamboli ya bato ya sembo.
