Numbers 30
1 And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the Lord has commanded.
Mosè parlò ai capi delle tribù de’ figliuoli d’Israele, dicendo: “Questo è quel che l’Eterno ha ordinato:
2 Whatsoever man shall vow a vow to the Lord, or swear an oath, or bind himself with an obligation upon his soul, he shall not break his word; all that shall come out of his mouth he shall do.
Quand’uno avrà fatto un voto all’Eterno od avrà con giuramento contratta una solenne obbligazione, non violerà la sua parola, ma metterà in esecuzione tutto quello che gli è uscito di bocca.
3 And if a woman shall vow a vow to the Lord, or bind herself with an obligation in her youth in her father's house; and her father should hear her vows and her obligations, wherewith she has bound her soul, and her father should hold his peace at her, then all her vows shall stand,
Così pure quando una donna avrà fatto un voto all’Eterno e si sarà legata con un impegno essendo in casa dei padre, durante la sua giovinezza,
4 and all the obligations with which she has bound her soul, shall remain to her.
se il padre, avendo conoscenza del voto di lei e dell’impegno per il quale ella si è legata, non dice nulla a questo proposito, tutti i voti di lei saranno validi, e saranno validi tutti gli impegni per i quali ella si sarà legata.
5 But if her father straitly forbid [her] in the day in which he shall hear all her vows and her obligations, which she has contracted upon her soul, they shall not stand; and the Lord shall hold her guiltless, because her father forbade her.
Ma se il padre, il giorno che ne viene a conoscenza, le fa opposizione, tutti i voti di lei e tutti gl’impegni per i quali si sarà legata, non saranno validi; e l’Eterno le perdonerà, perché il padre le ha fatto opposizione.
6 But if she should be indeed married, and her vows be upon her according to the utterance of her lips, [the obligations] which she has contracted upon her soul;
E se viene a maritarsi essendo legata da voti o da una promessa fatta alla leggera con le labbra, per la quale si sia impegnata,
7 and her husband should hear, and hold his peace at her in the day in which he should hear, then thus shall all her vows be binding, and her obligations, which she has contracted upon her soul shall stand.
se il marito ne ha conoscenza e il giorno che ne viene a conoscenza non dice nulla a questo proposito, i voti di lei saranno validi, e saranno validi gl’impegni per i quali ella si è legata.
8 But if her husband should straitly forbid [her] in the day in which he should hear her, none of her vows or obligations which she has contracted upon her soul shall stand, because her husband has disallowed her, and the Lord shall hold her guiltless.
Ma se il marito, il giorno che ne viene a conoscenza, le fa opposizione, egli annullerà il voto ch’ella ha fatto e la promessa che ha proferito alla leggera per la quale s’è impegnata; e l’Eterno le perdonerà.
9 And the vow of a widow and of her that is put away, whatever she shall bind upon her soul, shall stand to her.
Ma il voto di una vedova o di una donna ripudiata, qualunque sia l’impegno per il quale si sarà legata, rimarrà valido.
10 And if her vow [be made] in the house of her husband, or the obligation upon her soul with an oath,
Quando una donna, nella casa di suo marito, farà dei voti o si legherà con un giuramento,
11 and her husband should hear, and hold his peace at her, and not disallow her, then all her vows shall stand, and all the obligations which she contracted against her soul, shall stand against her.
e il marito ne avrà conoscenza, se il marito non dice nulla a questo proposito e non le fa opposizione, tutti i voti di lei saranno validi, e saran validi tutti gl’impegni per i quali ella si sarà legata.
12 But if her husband should utterly cancel the vow in the day in which he shall hear it, none of the things which shall proceed out of her lips in her vows, and in the obligations [contracted] upon her soul, shall stand to her; her husband has cancelled them, and the Lord shall hold her guiltless.
Ma se il marito, il giorno che ne viene a conoscenza li annulla, tutto ciò che le sarà uscito dalle labbra, siano voti o impegni per cui s’è legata, non sarà valido; il marito lo ha annullato; e l’Eterno le perdonerà.
13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict her soul, her husband shall confirm it to her, or her husband shall cancel it.
Il marito può ratificare e il marito può annullare qualunque voto e qualunque giuramento, per il quale ella si sia impegnata a mortificare la sua persona.
14 But if he be wholly silent at her from day to day, then shall he bind upon her all her vows; and he shall confirm to her the obligations [which she has bound] upon herself, because he held his peace at her in the day in which he heard her.
Ma se il marito, giorno dopo giorno, non dice nulla in proposito, egli ratifica così tutti i voti di lei e tutti gl’impegni per i quali ella si è legata; li ratifica, perché non ha detto nulla a questo proposito il giorno che ne ha avuto conoscenza.
15 And if her husband should in any wise cancel [them] after the day in which he heard [them], then he shall bear his iniquity.
Ma se li annulla qualche tempo dopo averne avuto conoscenza, sarà responsabile del peccato della moglie”.
16 These [are] the ordinances which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, and between a father and daughter in [her] youth in the house of [her] father.
Tali sono le leggi che l’Eterno prescrisse a Mosè, riguardo al marito e alla moglie, al padre e alla figliuola, quando questa è ancora fanciulla, in casa di suo padre.
