Numbers 21
1 And Arad the Chananitish king who lived by the wilderness, heard that Israel came by the way of Atharin; and he made war on Israel, and carried off some of them captives.
Nígbà tí ọba Aradi ará Kenaani, tí ń gbé ní gúúsù gbọ́ wí pé Israẹli ń bọ̀ wá ní ojú ọ̀nà Atarimu, ó bá Israẹli jà ó sì fi agbára mú díẹ̀ lára wọn.
2 And Israel vowed a vow to the Lord, and said, If you will deliver this people into my power, I will devote it and its cities [to you].
Nígbà náà ni Israẹli jẹ́ ẹ̀jẹ́ fún Olúwa pé, “Bí o bá lè fi àwọn ènìyàn yìí lé wa lọ́wọ́, gbogbo ìlú wọn ni a ó parun.”
3 And the Lord listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered the Chananite into his power; and [Israel] devoted him and his cities, and they called the name of that place Anathema.
Olúwa gbọ́ ẹ̀bẹ̀ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, ó sì fi àwọn ará Kenaani lé wọn lọ́wọ́. Wọ́n pa wọ́n run pátápátá; torí náà ni a ṣe ń pe ibẹ̀ ní Horma.
4 And having departed from mount Or by the way [leading] to the Red Sea, they compassed the land of Edom, and the people lost courage by the way.
Wọ́n rin ìrìnàjò láti òkè Hori lọ sí ọ̀nà tó lọ sí Òkun Pupa, láti kọjá yípo Edomu. Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ènìyàn bínú ní ojú ọ̀nà;
5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, saying, Why is this? Hast you brought us ought of Egypt to kill us in the wilderness? for there is not bread nor water; and our soul loathes this light bread.
wọ́n sì sọ̀rọ̀ lòdì sí Ọlọ́run àti Mose, wọ́n wí pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi mú wa jáde láti Ejibiti kí a ba le wá kú sí aginjù yìí? Kò sí oúnjẹ! Kò sì sí omi! Àwa sì kórìíra oúnjẹ tí kò dára yìí!”
6 And the Lord sent among the people deadly serpents, and they bit the people, and much people of the children of Israel died.
Nígbà náà ni Olúwa rán ejò olóró sí àárín wọn; wọ́n gé àwọn ènìyàn jẹ, ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì kú.
7 And the people came to Moses and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against you: pray therefore to the Lord, and let him take away the serpent from us.
Àwọn ènìyàn sì wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ Mose wọn wí pé, “A ti dá ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ nígbà tí asọ̀rọ̀-òdì sí Olúwa àti sí ìwọ pẹ̀lú. Gba àdúrà pé kí Olúwa mú ejò náà kúrò lọ́dọ̀ wa.” Nígbà náà ni Mose gbàdúrà fún àwọn ènìyàn.
8 And Moses prayed to the Lord for the people; and the Lord said to Moses, Make you a serpent, and put it on a signal-[staff]; and it shall come to pass that whenever a serpent shall bite a man, every one [so] bitten that looks upon it shall live.
Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé, “Rọ ejò, a ó sì gbé e kọ́ sókè lórí igi, ẹni tí ejò bá ti gé jẹ lè wò ó yóò sì yè.”
9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a signal-[staff]: and it came to pass that whenever a serpent bit a man, and he looked on the brazen serpent, he lived.
Nígbà náà ni Mose sì rọ ejò onírin ó sì gbé e kọ́ sórí igi, bí ejò bá sì bu ẹnikẹ́ni jẹ bí ó bá ti wò ó yóò sì yè.
10 And the children of Israel departed, and encamped in Oboth.
Àwọn ọmọ Israẹli tẹ̀síwájú wọ́n sì péjọ sí Obotu.
11 And having departed from Oboth, they encamped in Achalgai, on the farther side in the wilderness, which is opposite Moab, toward the east.
Wọ́n gbéra ní Obotu wọ́n sì pa ibùdó sí Iye-Abarimu, ní aginjù tí ó kọjú sí Moabu ní ìdojúkọ ìlà-oòrùn.
12 And thence they departed, and encamped in the valley of Zared.
Láti ibẹ̀ ni wọ́n ti gbéra wọ́n sì pa ibùdó ní àfonífojì Seredi.
13 And they departed thence and encamped on the other side of Arnon in the wilderness, [the country] which extends from the coasts of the Amorites; for Arnon is the borders of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
Láti ibẹ̀ lọ, wọn ṣí, wọ́n sì dó sí ìhà kejì Arnoni, tí ó wà ní aginjù tí ó wà ní agbègbè ilẹ̀ àwọn ọmọ Amori. Arnoni jẹ́ ààlà fún ilẹ̀ Moabu, láàrín Moabu àti Amori.
14 Therefore it is said in a book, A war of the Lord has set on fire Zoob, and the brooks of Arnon.
Ìdí nìyìí tí ìwé ogun Olúwa se wí pé, “…Wahebu ní Sufa, Òkun Pupa àti ní odò Arnoni
15 And he has appointed brooks to cause Er to dwell [there]; and it lies near to the coasts of Moab.
àti ní ìṣàn odò tí ó darí sí ibùjókòó Ari tí ó sì fi ara ti ìpínlẹ̀ Moabu.”
16 And thence [they came to] the well; this [is] the well of which the Lord said to Moses, Gather the people, and I will give them water to drink.
Láti ibẹ̀ ni wọ́n ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ rìn dé Beeri, èyí ni kànga tí Olúwa sọ fún Mose, “Kó àwọn ènìyàn jọ èmi ó sì fún wọn ní omi.”
17 Then Israel sang this song at the well, Begin [to sing] of the well;
Nígbà náà ni Israẹli kọ orin yìí pé, “Sun jáde, ìwọ kànga! Ẹ máa kọrin nípa rẹ̀,
18 the princes digged it, the kings of the nations in their kingdom, in their lordship sank it in the rock: and [they went] from the well to Manthanain,
nípa kànga tí àwọn ọmọ-aládé gbẹ́, nítorí àwọn ọlọ́lá ènìyàn ni ó gbẹ́ ẹ; tí àwọn ọlọ́lá àwọn ènìyàn sì fi ọ̀pá aládé àti ọ̀pá oyè wọn gbẹ́.” Nígbà náà wọ́n kúrò láti aginjù lọ sí Mattana,
19 and from Manthanain to Naaliel, and from Naaliel to Bamoth, and from Bamoth to Janen, which is in the plain of Moab [as seen] from the top of the quarried [rock] that looks toward the wilderness.
láti Mattana lọ sí Nahalieli, láti Nahalieli lọ sí Bamoti,
20 And Moses sent ambassadors to Seon king of the Amorites, with peaceful words, saying,
àti láti Bamoti lọ sí àfonífojì ní Moabu níbi tí òkè Pisga, tí ó wà ní òkè ilé omi ti kọjú sí aginjù.
21 We will pass through your land, we will go by the road; we will not turn aside to the field or to the vineyard.
Israẹli rán oníṣẹ́ láti sọ fún Sihoni ọba àwọn ará Amori wí pé,
22 We will not drink water out of your well; we will go by the king's highway, until we have past your boundaries.
“Jẹ́ kí a kọjá ní orílẹ̀-èdè rẹ. A kò ní kọjá sí inú oko pápá tàbí ọgbà àjàrà àbí mu omi láti inú kànga. A máa gba òpópónà náà ti ọba títí tí a ó fi la ilẹ̀ rẹ kọjá.”
23 And Seon did not allow Israel to pass through his borders, and Seon gathered all his people, and went out to set the battle in array against Israel into the wilderness; and he came to Jassa, and set the battle in array against Israel.
Ṣùgbọ́n Sihoni kò ní jẹ́ kí àwọn Israẹli kọjá ní ilẹ̀ wọn. Ó pe àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ jọ wọ́n sì wọ́de ogun lọ sí aginjù nítorí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli. Nígbà tí ó dé Jahasi, ó bá àwọn ọmọ Israẹli jà.
24 And Israel struck him with the slaughter of the sword, and they became possessors of his land, from Arnon to Jaboc, as far as the children of Amman, for Jazer is the borders of the children of Amman.
Àmọ́, Israẹli ṣẹ́gun, wọn fi ojú idà pa wọ́n, wọ́n sì gba ilẹ̀ láti ọwọ́ Arnoni lọ dé Jabbok, títí tí ó fi dé ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Ammoni, nítorí pé ààlà wọn jẹ́ olódi.
25 And Israel took all their cities, and Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites, in Esebon, and in all cities belonging to it.
Israẹli sì gba gbogbo ìlú Amori wọ́n sì ń gbé ibẹ̀ pẹ̀lú Heṣboni, àti gbogbo ibùgbé ìlú tó yí i ká.
26 For Esebon is the city of Seon king of the Amorites; and he before fought against the king of Moab, and they took all his land, from Aroer to Arnon.
Heṣboni ni ìlú Sihoni ọba àwọn ará Amori, ẹni tí ó bá ọba Moabu ti tẹ́lẹ̀ jà tí ó sì gba gbogbo ilẹ̀ rẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀ títí dé Arnoni.
27 Therefore say they who deal in dark speeches, Come to Esebon, that the city of Seon may be built and prepared.
Ìdí nìyìí tí akọrin sọ wí pé, “Wá sí Heṣboni kí ẹ jẹ́ kí a tún un kọ́; jẹ́ kí ìlú Sihoni padà bọ̀ sípò.
28 For a fire has gone forth from Esebon, a flame from the city of Seon, and has consumed as far as Moab, and devoured the pillars of Arnon.
“Iná jáde láti Heṣboni, ọ̀wọ́-iná láti Sihoni. Ó jó Ari àti Moabu run, àti ìlú àwọn olùgbé ibi gíga Arnoni.
29 Woe to you, Moab; you are lost, you people of Chamos: their sons are sold for preservation, and their daughters are captives to Seon king of the Amorites.
Ègbé ní fún ọ, ìwọ Moabu! Ẹ ti parun, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Kemoṣi! Ó ti fi ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìsáǹsá àti ọmọ rẹ̀ obìnrin gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìgbèkùn fún Sihoni ọba àwọn Amori.
30 And their seed shall perish [from] Esebon to Daebon; and their women have yet farther kindled a fire against Moab.
“Ṣùgbọ́n àti bì wọ́n ṣubú; a ti pa ìjẹgàba Heṣboni run, a pa wọ́n run títí dé Diboni. A sì ti bì wọ́n lulẹ̀ títí dé Nofa, tí ó sì fi dé Medeba.”
31 And Israel lived in all the cities of the Amorites.
Nígbà náà ni àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì ń gbé ní ilẹ̀ Amori.
32 And Moses sent to spy out Jazer; and they took it, and its villages, and cast out the Amorite that lived there.
Lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí Mose rán ayọ́lẹ̀wò lọ sí Jaseri, àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì gba àwọn agbègbè tó yí wọn ká wọ́n sì lé àwọn Amori tó wà níbẹ̀ jáde.
33 And having returned, they went up the road thhebraismat leads to Basan; and Og the king of Basan went forth to meet them, and all his people to war to Edrain.
Nígbà náà wọ́n pẹ̀yìndà wọ́n sì gòkè lọ sí Baṣani, Ogu ọba ti Baṣani àti gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun tí ó wọ́de ogun jáde láti pàdé wọn ní ojú ogun ní Edrei.
34 And the Lord said to Moses, Fear him not; for I have delivered him and all his people, and all his land, into your hands; and you shall do to him as you did to Seon king of the Amorites, who lived in Esebon.
Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé, “Má ṣe bẹ̀rù rẹ̀, nítorí tí mó tí fi òun lé ọ lọ́wọ́, àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀, àti ilẹ̀ rẹ̀, kí ìwọ kí ó ṣe sí i gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwọ ti ṣe sí Sihoni ọba Amori ẹni tí ó ń jẹ ọba ní Heṣboni.”
35 And he struck him and his sons, and all his people, until he left none of his to be taken alive; and they inherited his land.
Wọ́n sì pa á, pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ àti gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀, wọn kò fi ku ẹnìkan fún un láàyè. Wọ́n sì gba ìní ilẹ̀ rẹ̀.
