Numbers 20
1 And the children of Israel, [even] the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Sin, in the first month, and the people abode in Cades; and Mariam died there, and was buried there.
൧അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും ഒന്നാം മാസം സീൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എത്തി. ജനം കാദേശിൽ പാർത്തു. അവിടെവച്ച് മിര്യാം മരിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
2 And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and Aaron.
൨ജനത്തിന് കുടിക്കുവാൻ വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അപ്പോൾ അവർ മോശെക്കും അഹരോനും വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടംകൂടി.
3 And the people reviled Moses, saying, Would we had died in the destruction of our brethren before the Lord!
൩ജനം മോശെയോട് കലഹിച്ചു: “ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവരോടൊപ്പം ഞങ്ങളും മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു.
4 And therefore have you brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, to kill us and our cattle?
൪ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കിടന്ന് ചാകേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ സഭയെ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നത് എന്ത്?
5 And therefore [is] this? You have brought us up out of Egypt, that we should come into this evil place; a place where there is no sowing, neither figs, nor vines, nor pomegranates, neither is there water to drink.
൫ഈ ദുഷിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചത് എന്തിന്? ഇവിടെ വിത്തും അത്തിപ്പഴവും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും മാതളപ്പഴവും ഇല്ല; കുടിക്കുവാൻ വെള്ളവുമില്ല” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And Moses and Aaron went from before the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of witness, and they fell upon their faces; and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.
൬അനന്തരം മോശെയും അഹരോനും സഭയുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കൽ ചെന്ന് കമിഴ്ന്നുവീണു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് അവർക്ക് പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.
7 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
൭യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “നിന്റെ വടി എടുത്ത് നീയും നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ അഹരോനും സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവർ കാൺകെ പാറയോട് കല്പിക്കുക.
8 Take your rod, and call the assembly, you and Aaron your brother, and speak you to the rock before them, and it shall give forth its waters; and you shall bring forth for them water out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their cattle.
൮എന്നാൽ അത് വെള്ളം തരും; പാറയിൽനിന്ന് അവർക്ക് വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച് ജനത്തിനും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികൾക്കും കുടിക്കുവാൻ കൊടുക്കണം” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
9 And Moses took his rod which was before the Lord, as the Lord commanded.
൯തന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് വടി എടുത്തു.
10 And Moses and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock, and said to them, Hear me, you disobedient ones; must we bring you water out of this rock?
൧൦മോശെയും അഹരോനും പാറയുടെ അടുക്കൽ സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോട്: “മത്സരികളേ, കേൾക്കുവിൻ; ഈ പാറയിൽനിന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice; and much water came forth, and the congregation drank, and their cattle.
൧൧മോശെ കൈ ഉയർത്തി വടികൊണ്ട് പാറയെ രണ്ട് പ്രാവശ്യം അടിച്ചു; വളരെ വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ജനവും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും കുടിച്ചു.
12 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you have not believed me to sanctify me before the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
൧൨പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും: “നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ കാൺകെ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സഭയെ ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയില്ല” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
13 This is the water of Strife, because the children of Israel spoke insolently before the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.
൧൩ഇത് യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ യഹോവയോട് കലഹിച്ചതും അവർ അവരിൽ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമായ കലഹജലം.
14 And Moses sent messengers from Cades to the king of Edom, saying, Thus says your brother Israel; You know all the distress that has come upon us.
൧൪അനന്തരം മോശെ കാദേശിൽനിന്ന് ഏദോം രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ച് പറയിച്ചത്: നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യിസ്രായേൽ ഇപ്രകാരം പറയിച്ചു:
15 And [how] our fathers went down into Egypt, and we sojourned in Egypt many days, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers.
൧൫“ഞങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടായ കഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ പോയി ഏറിയകാലം പാർത്തു: ഈജിപ്റ്റിലുള്ളവർ ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.
16 And we cried to the Lord, and the Lord heard our voice, and sent an angel and brought us out of Egypt; and now we are in the city of Cades, at the extremity of your coasts.
൧൬ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവയോട് നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവിടുന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളികേട്ട് ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ച് ഞങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അതിർത്തി പട്ടണമായ കാദേശിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
17 We will pass through your land: we will not go through the fields, nor through the vineyards, nor will we drink water out of your cistern: we will go by the king's highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left, until we have passed your borders.
൧൭ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ അനുവദിക്കണമേ. ഞങ്ങൾ വയലിലോ, മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലോ കയറുകയില്ല; കിണറ്റിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുകയുമില്ല. ഞങ്ങൾ രാജപാതയിൽ കൂടി തന്നെ നടക്കും;
18 And Edom said to him, You shall not pass through me, and if otherwise, I will go forth to meet you in war.
൧൮നിന്റെ അതിർത്തി കഴിയുന്നതുവരെ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയുകയുമില്ല”. ഏദോം അവനോട്: “നീ എന്റെ നാട്ടിൽ കൂടി കടക്കരുത്: കടന്നാൽ ഞാൻ വാളുമായി നിന്റെനേരെ പുറപ്പെടും” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
19 And the children of Israel say to him, We will pass by the mountain; and if I and my cattle drink of your water, I will pay you: but it is no matter of importance, we will go by the mountain.
൧൯അതിന് യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അവനോട്: “ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രധാനനിരത്തിൽക്കൂടി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; ഞാനും എന്റെ കന്നുകാലിയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചാൽ അതിന്റെ വില തരാം; കാൽനടയായി കടന്ന് പോകണമെന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്ക് വേണ്ടാ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
20 And he said, You shall not pass through me; and Edom went forth to meet him with a great host, and a mighty hand.
൨൦അതിന് അവൻ “നീ കടന്നുപോകരുത്” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. ഏദോം ബഹുസൈന്യത്തോടും ബലമുള്ള കൈയോടുംകൂടി അവന്റെനേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
21 So Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through his borders, and Israel turned away from him.
൨൧ഇങ്ങനെ ഏദോം തന്റെ അതിർത്തിയിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. യിസ്രായേൽ അവിടെനിന്ന് പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു.
22 And they departed from Cades; and the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came to Mount Or.
൨൨പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയും കാദേശിൽനിന്ന് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ട് ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ എത്തി.
23 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in mount Or, on the borders of the land of Edom, saying,
൨൩ഏദോമിന്റെ അതിർത്തിയിലുള്ള ഹോർ പർവ്വതത്തിൽവച്ച് യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:
24 Let Aaron be added to his people; for you shall certainly not go into the land which I have given the children of Israel, because you provoked me at the water of strife.
൨൪“അഹരോൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തോട് ചേരും; കലഹജലത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കല്പന മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾക്ക് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്ക് അവൻ കടക്കുകയില്ല.
25 Take Aaron, and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to the mount Or before all the congregation;
൨൫അഹരോനെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെയും കൂട്ടി അവരെ ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന്
26 and take Aaron's apparel from off him, and put it on Eleazar his son: and let Aaron die there and be added to [his people].
൨൬അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കണം; അഹരോൻ അവിടെവച്ച് മരിച്ച് തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും”.
27 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him, and took him up to mount Or, before all the congregation.
൨൭യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; സർവ്വസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ അവർ ഹോർപർവ്വത്തിൽ കയറി.
28 And he took Aaron's garments off him, and put them on Eleazar his son, and Aaron died on the top of the mountain; and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.
൨൮മോശെ അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അഹരോൻ അവിടെ പർവ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽവച്ച് മരിച്ചു; മോശെയും എലെയാസാരും പർവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.
29 And all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead: and they wept for Aaron thirty days, [even] all the house of Israel.
൨൯‘അഹരോൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി’ എന്ന് സഭയെല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും അഹരോനെക്കുറിച്ച് മുപ്പത് ദിവസം വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
