1 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron en ces termes:
2 Let the children of Israel encamp fronting [each other], every man keeping his own rank, according to [their] standards, according to the houses of their families; the children of Israel shall encamp round about the tabernacle of witness.
"Rangés chacun sous une bannière distincte, d’après leurs tribus paternelles, ainsi camperont les enfants d’Israël; c’est en face et autour de la tente d’assignation qu’ils seront campés.
3 And they that encamp first toward the east [shall be] the order of the camp of Juda with their host, and the prince of the sons of Juda, Naasson the son of Aminadab.
Ceux qui campent en avant, à l’orient, seront sous la bannière du camp de Juda, selon leurs légions, le phylarque des enfants de Juda étant Nahchôn, fils d’Amminadab,
4 His forces that were numbered, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant soixante-quatorze mille six cents hommes.
5 And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Issachar, and the prince of the sons of Issachar [shall be] Nathanael the son of Sogar.
Près de lui campera la tribu d’Issachar, le phylarque des enfants d’lssachar étant Nethanel, fils de Çouar,
6 His forces that were numbered, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant cinquante-quatre mille quatre cents hommes.
7 And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Zabulon, and the prince of the sons of Zabulon [shall be] Eliab the son of Chaelon.
Puis la tribu de Zabulon, le phylarque des enfants de Zabulon étant Elïab, fils de Hêlôn,
8 His forces that were numbered, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant cinquante-sept mille quatre cents hommes.
9 All that were numbered of the camp of Juda were a hundred and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred: they shall move first with their forces.
Total des recensés formant le camp de Juda: cent quatre-vingt-six mille quatre cents, répartis selon leurs légions. Ceux-là ouvriront la marche.
10 [This is] the order of the camp of Ruben; their forces [shall be] toward the south, and the prince of the children of Ruben [shall be] Elisur the son of Sediur.
La bannière du camp de Ruben occupera le midi, avec ses légions, le phylarque des enfants de Ruben étant Eliçour, fils de Chedéour,
11 His forces that were numbered, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant quarante-six mille cinq cents hommes.
12 And they that encamp next to him [shall be] of the tribe of Symeon, and the prince of the sons of Symeon [shall be] Salamiel the son of Surisadai.
Près de lui campera la tribu de Siméon, le phylarque des enfants de Siméon étant Cheloumïel, fils de Çourichaddaï,
13 His forces that were numbered, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant cinquante-neuf mille trois cents hommes.
14 And they that encamp next to them [shall be] the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the sons of Gad, Elisaph the son of Raguel.
Puis la tribu de Gad, le phylarque des enfants de Gad étant Elyaçaf, fils de Reouêl,
15 His forces that were numbered, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant quarante-cinq mille six cent cinquante hommes.
16 All who were numbered of the camp of Ruben, were a hundred and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty: they with their forces shall proceed in the second place.
Total des recensés formant le camp de Ruben: cent cinquante et un mille quatre cent cinquante, répartis selon leurs légions. Ils marcheront en seconde ligne.
17 And [then] the tabernacle of witness shall be set forward, and the camp of the Levites [shall be] between the camps; as they shall encamp, so also shall they commence their march, each one next in order to his fellow according to their companies.
Alors s’avancera la tente d’assignation, le camp des Lévites, au centre des camps. Comme on procédera pour le campement, ainsi pour la marche: chacun à son poste, suivant sa bannière.
18 The station of the camp of Ephraim [shall be] westward with their forces, and the head of the children of Ephraim [shall be] Elisama the son of Emiud.
La bannière du camp d’Ephraïm, avec ses légions, occupera le couchant, le phylarque des enfants d’Ephraïm étant Elichama, fils d’Ammihoud,
19 His forces that were numbered, are forty thousand and five hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant quarante mille cinq cents hommes.
20 And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Manasse, and the prince of the sons of Manasse, Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.
Près de lui, la tribu de Manassé, le phylarque des enfants de Manassé étant Gamliel, fils de Pedahçour,
21 His forces that were numbered, were thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant trente-deux mille deux cents hommes.
22 And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Benjamin, and the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gadeoni.
Puis la tribu de Benjamin, le phylarque des enfants de Benjamin étant Abidân, fils de Ghidoni,
23 His forces that were numbered, were thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant trente-cinq mille quatre cents hommes.
24 All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim, were one hundred and eight thousand and one hundred: they with their forces shall set out third.
Total des recensés formant le camp d’Ephraïm: cent huit mille cent, répartis selon leurs légions. Ils marcheront en troisième ligne.
25 The order of the camp of Dan [shall be] northward with their forces; and the prince of the sons of Dan, Achiezer the son of Amisadai.
La bannière du camp de Dan occupera le nord, avec ses légions, le phylarque des enfants de Dan étant Ahïézer, fils d’Ammichaddaï,
26 His forces that were numbered, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant soixante-deux mille sept cents hommes.
27 And they that encamp next to him [shall be] the tribe of Aser; and the prince of the sons of Aser, Phagiel the son of Echran.
Près de lui campera la tribu d’Asher, le phylarque des enfants d’Asher étant Paghïel, fils d’Okrân,
28 His forces that were numbered, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant quarante et un mille cinq cents hommes.
29 And they that encamp next [shall be] of the tribe of Nephthali; and the prince of the children of Nephthali, Achire son Aenan.
Puis la tribu de Nephtali, le phylarque des enfants de Nephtali étant Ahira, fils d’Enân,
30 His forces that were numbered were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
et sa légion, d’après son recensement, comptant cinquante-trois mille quatre cents hommes.
31 All that were numbered of the camp of Dan, [were] a hundred and fifty-seven thousand and six hundred: they shall set out last according to their order.
Total des recensés pour le camp de Dan: cent cinquante-sept mille six cents hommes, qui marcheront en dernier, après les autres bannières."
32 This [is] the numbering of the children of Israel according to the houses of their families: all the numbering of the camps with their forces, [was] six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.
Tel fut le classement des enfants d’Israël, selon leurs familles paternelles; répartis dans les camps par légions, leur total fut de six cent trois mille cinq cent cinquante.
33 But the Levites were not numbered with them, as the Lord commanded Moses.
Pour les Lévites, ils ne furent point incorporés parmi les enfants d’Israël, ainsi que l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse.
34 And the children of Israel did all things that the Lord commanded Moses; thus they encamped in their order, and thus they began their march in succession each according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families.
Les enfants d’Israël exécutèrent tout ce que l’Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse: ils campaient ainsi par bannières et ils marchaient dans cet ordre, chacun selon sa famille, près de sa maison paternelle.
