Numbers 13
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
யெகோவா மோசேயிடம் சொன்னதாவது,
2 Send for you men, and let them spy the land of the Chananites, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession; one man for a tribe, you shall send them away according to their families, every one of them a prince.
“நான் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குக் கொடுக்கவிருக்கும் கானான் நாட்டை ஆராய்ந்து அறிவதற்கு சில மனிதரை அனுப்பு. ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்திலிருந்தும் அதன் தலைவர்களில் ஒருவனை அனுப்பு” என்றார்.
3 And Moses sent them out of the wilderness of Pharan by the word of the Lord; all these [were] the princes of the sons of Israel.
யெகோவா கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, மோசே அவர்களைப் பாரான் பாலைவனத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பினான். அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இஸ்ரயேலரின் தலைவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.
4 And these [are] their names: of the tribe of Ruben, Samuel the son of Zachur.
அவர்களுடைய பெயர்களாவன: ரூபன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சக்கூரின் மகன் சம்முவா,
5 Of the tribe of Symeon, Saphat the son of Suri.
சிமியோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஓரியின் மகன் சாப்பாத்,
6 Of the tribe of Judah, Chaleb the son of Jephonne.
யூதா கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து எப்புன்னேயின் மகன் காலேப்,
7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Ilaal the son of Joseph.
இசக்கார் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து யோசேப்பின் மகன் ஈகால்,
8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Ause the son of Naue.
எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து நூனின் மகன் ஓசேயா,
9 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Phalti the son of Raphu.
பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ரப்பூவின் மகன் பல்த்தி,
10 Of the tribe of Zabulon, Gudiel the son of Sudi.
செபுலோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சோதியின் மகன் காதியேல்,
11 Of the tribe of Joseph of the sons of Manasse, Gaddi the son of Susi.
யோசேப்பு கோத்திரத்தானான மனாசேயின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சூசியின் மகன் காதி,
12 Of the tribe of Dan, Amiel the son of Gamali.
தாண் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து கெமல்லியின் மகன் அம்மியேல்,
13 Of the tribe of Aser, Sathur the son of Michael.
ஆசேர் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து மிகாயேலின் மகன் சேத்தூர்,
14 Of the tribe of Nephthali, Nabi the son of Sabi.
நப்தலி கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஒப்பேசியின் மகன் நாகபி,
15 Of the tribe of Gad, Gudiel the son of Macchi.
காத் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து மாகியின் மகன் கூயேல்.
16 These [are] the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land; and Moses called Ause the son of Naue, Joshua.
நாட்டை ஆராய்ந்து அறிவதற்கு மோசே அனுப்பிய மனிதர்களின் பெயர்கள் இவையே. மோசே நூனின் மகன் ஒசேயாவுக்கு யோசுவா என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
17 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Chanaan, and said to them, Go up by this wilderness; and you shall go up to the mountain,
கானானை ஆராய்ந்து அறியும்படிக்கு மோசே அவர்களை அனுப்பியபோது, அவன் அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் தெற்கு பிரதேசத்தின் வழியாக மலைநாட்டிற்குப் போங்கள்.
18 and you shall see the land, what it is, and the people that dwells on it, whether it is strong or weak, or [whether] they are few or many.
போய், அந்த நாடு எப்படிப்பட்டதுதென்றும், அங்கே வாழும் மக்கள் பலசாலிகளா, பலவீனர்களா, அதிகமானவர்களா, குறைவானவர்களா என்றும் பாருங்கள்.
19 And what the land is on which they dwell, [whether] it is good or bad; and what the cities are wherein these dwell, whether they dwell in walled [cities] or unwalled.
அவர்கள் வாழும் நிலம் எப்படிப்பட்டது? நல்லதோ? கெட்டதோ? அவர்கள் வாழும் பட்டணங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்டவை? அரண் அற்றவையோ? அரணுள்ளவையோ?
20 And what the land is, whether rich or poor; whether there are trees in it or no: and you shall persevere and take of the fruits of the land: and the days [were] the days of spring, the forerunners of the grape.
மண் எப்படிப்பட்டது? அது வளமுள்ளதா, வளமற்றதா? மரங்கள் இருக்கின்றனவா, இல்லையா? என்றும் பாருங்கள். அந்த நாட்டின் பழங்களில் சிலவற்றைக் கொண்டுவரவும் முயற்சி செய்யுங்கள்” என்றான். அது திராட்சை முதற்பழம் பழுக்கும் காலமாய் இருந்தது.
21 And they went up and surveyed the land from the wilderness of Sin to Rhoob, as men go in to Aemath.
அவர்கள் போய் சீன் பாலைவனம்தொடங்கி, லேபோ ஆமாத்துக்கு முன்பாக உள்ள ரேகோப் வரையும் நாட்டை ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்தார்கள்.
22 And they went up by the wilderness, and departed as far as Chebron; and there [was] Achiman, and Sessi, and Thelami, the progeny of Enach. Now Chebron was built seven years before Tanin of Egypt.
அவர்கள் தெற்கு பக்கத்தின் வழியாகப்போய் எப்ரோனுக்கு வந்தார்கள். அங்கே அகீமான், சேசாய், தல்மாய் ஆகிய ஏனாக்கின் சந்ததியினர் வாழ்ந்தார்கள். எப்ரோன் எகிப்திலுள்ள சோவான் கட்டப்படுவதற்கு ஏழு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பே கட்டப்பட்டது.
23 And they came to the valley of the cluster and surveyed it; and they cut down thence a bough and one cluster of grapes upon it, and bore it on staves, and [they took] of the pomegranates and the figs.
அவர்கள் எஸ்கோல் பள்ளத்தாக்கை வந்தடைந்தபோது, ஒரு தனி திராட்சைப்பழக் குலையுடைய ஒரு கிளையை வெட்டினார்கள். அதனுடன் சில மாதுளம் பழங்களையும், அத்திப்பழங்களையும் ஒரு தடியில்போட்டு, இரண்டுபேர் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு போனார்கள்.
24 And they called that place, The valley of the cluster, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from thence.
அங்கே இஸ்ரயேலர் திராட்சைக் குலையை வெட்டியதனால் அந்த இடம், “எஸ்கோல்” பள்ளத்தாக்கு என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
25 And they returned from thence, having surveyed the land, after forty days.
அவர்கள் நாற்பது நாட்களுக்கு நாட்டை ஆராய்ந்துபார்த்து பின்பு திரும்பி வந்தார்கள்.
26 And they proceeded and came to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Pharan Cades; and they brought word to them and to all the congregation, and they showed the fruit of the land:
அவர்கள் பாரான் பாலைவனத்திலுள்ள காதேசில் இருந்த மோசே, ஆரோன் மற்றும் இஸ்ரயேலின் முழு சமுதாயத்தினரிடமும் வந்தார்கள். தாம் ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்தவற்றை அவர்களுக்கும், சபையார் அனைவருக்கும் சொன்னதோடு, அந்நாட்டிலிருந்து கொண்டுவந்திருந்த பழங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டினார்கள்.
27 and they reported to him, and said, We came into the land into which you sent us, a land flowing with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
அவர்கள் மோசேயிடம், “நீர் அனுப்பிய நாட்டிற்கு நாங்கள் போனோம். அது பாலும் தேனும் வழிந்தோடும் நாடு! இதோ அதன் பழங்கள்.
28 Only the nation that dwells upon it is bold, and they have very great and strong walled towns, and we saw there the children of Enach.
ஆனால் அங்குள்ள மக்களோ மிகவும் பலம் வாய்ந்தவர்கள். அத்துடன் நகரங்களும் அரணுள்ளவையும், விசாலமானவையுமாய் இருக்கின்றன. அங்கே ஏனாக்கின் சந்ததிகளைக்கூட நாங்கள் கண்டோம்.
29 And Amalec dwells in the land toward the south: and the Chettite and the Evite, and the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwells in the hill country: and the Chananite dwells by the sea, and by the river Jordan.
அமலேக்கியர் நாட்டின் தெற்கு பகுதியில் வாழ்கிறார்கள். ஏத்தியர், எபூசியர், எமோரியர் ஆகியோர் மலைநாட்டில் வாழ்கிறார்கள். கடல் அருகேயும், யோர்தான் நதியோரம் கானானியர் வாழ்கிறார்கள்” என்று விவரமாய்ச் சொன்னார்கள்.
30 And Chaleb stayed the people from speaking before Moses, and said to him, Nay, but we will go up by all means, and will inherit it, for we shall surely prevail against them.
அப்பொழுது காலேப், மக்களை மோசேக்கு முன்பாக அமைதிப்படுத்தி, அவர்களிடம், “நாம் இப்பொழுதே போய் அந்நாட்டை நமக்கு உடைமையாக்கிக் கொள்ளவேண்டும். நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்ளலாம்” என்றான்.
31 But the men that went up together with him said, We will not go up, for we shall not by any means be able to go up against the nation, for it is much stronger than we.
ஆனால் காலேப்புடன் போன மனிதர்களோ, “அந்த மக்களை எதிர்க்க நம்மால் முடியாது. ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் எங்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் பலசாலிகள்” என்றார்கள்.
32 And they brought a horror of that land which they surveyed upon the children of Israel, saying, The land which we passed by to survey it, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are men of extraordinary stature.
அவர்கள் தாம் ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்து வந்த நாட்டைப்பற்றி இஸ்ரயேலர் மத்தியில் பிழையான செய்தியைப் பரப்பினார்கள். நாங்கள் ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்து வந்த நாடு அங்கு வாழ்கிறவர்களை அழித்தொழிக்கும் நாடு. நாங்கள் அங்கு கண்ட மக்களும் உருவத்தில் பெரியவர்கள்.
33 And there we saw the giants; and we were before them as locusts, yes even so were we before them.
அரக்கர்களின் வழிவந்த ஏனாக்கின் சந்ததிகளான அரக்கர்களையும் அங்கு கண்டோம். நாங்கள் எங்கள் பார்வையில் அவர்களுக்கு முன்னால் வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைப்போல் காணப்பட்டோம். அவர்களுடைய பார்வையிலும் நாங்கள் அப்படியே காணப்பட்டோம் என்றார்கள்.
