Nehemiah 7
1 And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
૧જયારે કોટનું બાંધકામ પૂરું થયું અને મેં દરવાજાઓ ઊભા કર્યા, ત્યારે દ્વારપાળો, ગાનારાઓ તથા લેવીઓની નિમણૂક કરવામાં આવી.
2 that I gave charge to Ananias my brother, and Ananias the ruler of the palace, over Jerusalem: for he was a true man, and one that feared God beyond many.
૨મેં મારા ભાઈ હનાની અને કિલ્લાના અમલદાર હનાન્યાને યરુશાલેમનો હવાલો સોંપ્યો. કારણ કે તે ઘણો વિશ્વાસુ હતો તથા બીજા બધા કરતાં ઈશ્વરથી વિશેષ ડરનારો હતો.
3 And I said to them, The gates of Jerusalem shall not be opened till sunrise; and while they are still watching, let the doors be shut, and bolted; and set watches of them that dwell in Jerusalem, [every] man at his post, and [every] man over against his house.
૩અને મેં તેઓને કહ્યું, “દિવસ ચઢે ત્યાં સુધી યરુશાલેમના દરવાજા ખોલવા નહિ અને જ્યારે ચોકીદારો ચોકી કરતા હોય ત્યારે તેઓએ દરવાજાનાં બારણાં બંધ રાખવાં. યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓમાંથી તમારે ચોકીદારો નીમવા. દરેક જણ નિયત જગ્યાએ ચોકી કરે અને બાકીના પોતાના ઘર આગળ ચોકી કરે.”
4 Now the city [was] wide and large; and the people [were] few in it, and the houses were not built.
૪નગર ખૂબ વિસ્તારવાળું હતું. પણ તેમાં લોકો થોડા જ હતા અને ઘરો હજુ બંધાયાં નહોતા.
5 And God put [it] into my heart, and I gathered the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, into companies: and I found a register of the company that came up first, and I found written in it as follows:
૫મારા ઈશ્વરે મારા હૃદયમાં એવી પ્રેરણા કરી કે, ઉમરાવોને, અધિકારીઓને અને લોકોને વંશાવળી પ્રમાણે તેઓની ગણતરી કરવા માટે એકઠા કરવા. જેઓ સૌથી પહેલા આવ્યા હતા તેઓની વંશાવળીની યાદી મને મળી. તેમાં મને આ લખાણ જોવા મળ્યું કે.
6 Now these [are] the children of the country, that came up from captivity, of the number which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon carried away, and they returned to Jerusalem and to Juda, [every] man to his city;
૬“બાબિલના રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર દ્વારા જે લોકોને બંદીવાન કરીને લઈ જવામાં આવ્યા હતા, તેઓમાંના જે લોકો યહૂદિયાનાં પોતપોતાનાં નગરોમાં અને યરુશાલેમમાં પાછા આવ્યા,
7 with Zorobabel, and Jesus, and Neemia, Azaria, and Reelma, Naemani, Mardochaeus, Balsan, Maspharath, Esdra, Boguia, Inaum, Baana, Masphar, men of the people of Israel.
૭એટલે ઝરુબ્બાબેલ, યેશૂઆ, નહેમ્યા, અઝાર્યા, રામ્યા, નાહમાની, મોર્દખાય, બિલ્શાન, મિસ્પરેથ, બિગ્વાય, નહૂમ તથા બાનાહની સાથે આવ્યા તેઓ આ છે. ઇઝરાયલના લોકોના પુરુષોની સંખ્યાવાર યાદી આ પ્રમાણે છે.
8 The children of Phoros, two thousand one hundred and seventy-two.
૮પારોશના વંશજો બે હજાર એકસો બોતેર,
9 The children of Saphatia, three hundred and seventy-two.
૯શફાટયાના વંશજો ત્રણસો બોતેર,
10 The children of Era, six hundred and fifty-two.
૧૦આરાહના વંશજો છસો બાવન,
11 The children of Phaath Moab, with the children of Jesus and Joab, two thousand six hundred and eighteen.
૧૧યેશૂઆ તથા યોઆબના વંશજોમાંના પાહાથ-મોઆબના વંશજો બે હજાર આઠસો અઢાર,
12 The children of Aelam, a thousand two hundred and fifty-four.
૧૨એલામના વંશજો એક હજાર બસો ચોપન,
13 The children of Zathuia, eight hundred and forty-five.
૧૩ઝાત્તૂના વંશજો આઠસો પિસ્તાળીસ,
14 The children of Zacchu, seven hundred and sixty.
૧૪ઝાકકાયના વંશજો સાતસો આઠ.
15 The children of Banui, six hundred and forty-eight.
૧૫બિન્નૂઈના વંશજો છસો અડતાળીસ,
16 The children of Bebi, six hundred and twenty-eight.
૧૬બેબાયના વંશજો છસો અઠ્ઠાવીસ,
17 The children of Asgad, two thousand three hundred and twenty-two.
૧૭આઝગાદના વંશજો બે હજાર ત્રણસો બાવીસ,
18 The children of Adonicam, six hundred and sixty-seven.
૧૮અદોનિકામના વંશજો છસો સડસઠ.
19 The children of Bagoi, two thousand and sixty-seven.
૧૯બિગ્વાયના વંશજો બે હજાર સડસઠ,
20 The children of Edin, six hundred and fifty-five.
૨૦આદીનના વંશજો છસો પંચાવન,
21 The children of Ater, [the son] of Ezekias, ninety-eight.
૨૧હિઝકિયાના આટેરના વંશજો અઠ્ઠાણું,
22 The children of Esam, three hundred and twenty-eight.
૨૨હાશુમના વંશજો ત્રણસો અઠ્ઠાવીસ.
23 The children of Besei, three hundred and twenty-four.
૨૩બેસાયના વંશજો ત્રણસો ચોવીસ,
24 The children of Ariph, a hundred and twelve: the children of Asen, two hundred and twenty-three.
૨૪હારીફના વંશજો એકસો બાર,
25 The children of Gabaon, ninety-five.
૨૫ગિબ્યોનના વંશજો પંચાણું
26 The children of Baethalem, a hundred and twenty-three: the children of Atopha, fifty-six.
૨૬બેથલેહેમ તથા નટોફાથી એકસો ઈઠ્યાસી.
27 The children of Anathoth, a hundred and twenty-eight.
૨૭અનાથોથના વંશજો એકસો ઈઠ્યાસી,
28 The men of Bethasmoth, forty-two.
૨૮બેથ-આઝમાવેથના વંશજો બેતાળીસ,
29 The men of Cariatharim, Caphira, and Beroth, seven hundred and forty-three.
૨૯કિર્યાથ-યારીમના કફીરાના તથા બેરોથના વંશજો સાતસો તેંતાળીસ,
30 The men of Arama and Gabaa, six hundred and twenty.
૩૦રામા તથા ગેબાના વંશજો છસો એકવીસ.
31 The men of Machemas, a hundred and twenty-two.
૩૧મિખ્માશના વંશજો એકસો બાવીસ,
32 The men of Baethel and Ai, a hundred and twenty-three.
૩૨બેથેલના તથા આયના વંશજો એકસો ત્રેવીસ,
33 The men of Nabia, a hundred an fifty-two.
૩૩નબોના વંશજો બાવન,
34 The men of Elamaar, one thousand two hundred and fifty-two.
૩૪બીજા એલામના વંશજો એક હજાર બસો ચોપન.
35 The children of Eram, three hundred and twenty.
૩૫હારીમના વંશજો ત્રણસો વીસ,
36 The children of Jericho, three hundred and forty-five.
૩૬યરીખોના વંશજો ત્રણસો પિસ્તાળીસ,
37 The children of Lodadid and Ono, seven hundred and twenty-one.
૩૭લોદના, હાદીદના તથા ઓનોના વંશજો સાતસો એકવીસ,
38 The children of Sanana, three thousand nine hundred and thirty.
૩૮સનાઆહના વંશજો ત્રણ હજાર નવસો ત્રીસ.
39 The priests; the sons of Jodae, [pertaining] to the house of Jesus, nine hundred and seventy-three.
૩૯યાજકો: યદાયાના વંશજો, યેશૂઆના કુટુંબનાં નવસો તોંતેર,
40 The children of Emmer, one thousand and fifty-two.
૪૦ઈમ્મેરના વંશજો એક હજાર બાવન,
41 The children of Phaseur, one thousand two hundred and forty-seven.
૪૧પાશહૂરના વંશજો એક હજાર બસો સુડતાળીસ,
42 The children of Eram, a thousand and seventeen.
૪૨હારીમના વંશજો એક હજાર સત્તર.
43 The Levites; the children of Jesus the son of Cadmiel, with the children of Uduia, seventy-four.
૪૩લેવીઓ: યેશૂઆના તથા કાદમીએલના વંશજો, હોદેવાના વંશજોમાંના ચુંમોતેર.
44 The singers; the children of Asaph, a hundred and forty-eight.
૪૪ગાનારાઓ: આસાફના વંશજો એકસો અડતાળીસ.
45 The porters; the children of Salum, the children of Ater, the children of Telmon, the children of Acub, the children of Atita, the children of Sabi, a hundred and thirty-eight.
૪૫દ્વારપાળો: શાલ્લુમના વંશજો, આટેરના વંશજો, ટાલ્મોનના વંશજો, આક્કુબના વંશજો, હટીટાના વંશજો અને શોબાયના વંશજો એક સો આડત્રીસ.
46 The Nathinim; the children of Sea, the children of Aspha, the children of Tabaoth,
૪૬ભક્તિસ્થાનના સેવકો: સીહાના વંશજો, હસૂફાના વંશજો, ટાબ્બાઓથના વંશજો,
47 the children of Kiras, the children of Asuia, the children of Phadon,
૪૭કેરોસના વંશજો, સીઆના વંશજો, પાદોનના વંશજો,
48 the children of Labana, the children of Agaba, the children of Selmei,
૪૮લબાનાના વંશજો, હગાબાના વંશજો, શાલ્માયના વંશજો,
49 the children of Anan, the children of Gadel, the children of Gaar,
૪૯હાનાનના વંશજો, ગિદ્દેલના વંશજો, ગહારના વંશજો.
50 the children of Raaia, the children of Rasson, the children of Necoda,
૫૦રાયાના વંશજો, રસીનના વંશજો, નકોદાના વંશજો,
51 the children of Gezam, the children of Ozi, the children of Phese,
૫૧ગાઝ્ઝામના વંશજો, ઉઝઝાના વંશજો, પાસેઆના વંશજો,
52 the children of Besi, the children of Meinon, the children of Nephosasi,
૫૨બેસાઈના વંશજો, મેઉનીમના વંશજો, નફીસીમના વંશજો.
53 the children of Bacbuc, the children of Achipha, the children of Arur,
૫૩બાકબુકના વંશજો, હાકૂફાના વંશજો, હાર્હૂરના વંશજો,
54 the children of Basaloth, the children of Mida, the children of Adasan,
૫૪બાસ્લીથના વંશજો, મહિદાના વંશજો, હાર્શાના વંશજો,
55 the children of Barcue, the children of Sisarath, the children of Thema,
૫૫બાર્કોસના વંશજો, સીસરાના વંશજો, તેમાના વંશજો,
56 the children of Nisia, the children of Atipha.
૫૬નસીઆના વંશજો અને હટીફાના વંશજો.
57 The children of the servants of Solomon; the children of Sutei, the children of Sapharat, the children of Pherida,
૫૭સુલેમાનના સેવકોના વંશજો: સોટાયના વંશજો, સોફેરેથના વંશજો, પરીદાના વંશજો,
58 the children of Jelel, the children of Dorcon, the children of Gadael,
૫૮યાલાના વંશજો, દાર્કોનના વંશજો, ગિદ્દેલના વંશજો,
59 the children of Saphatia, the children of Ettel, the children of Phacarath, the children of Sabaim, the children of Emim.
૫૯શફાટયાના વંશજો, હાટ્ટીલના વંશજો, પોખરેથ-હાસ્સબાઈમના વંશજો અને આમોનના વંશજો.
60 All the Nathinim, and children of the servants of Solomon, [were] three hundred and ninety-two.
૬૦ભક્તિસ્થાનના સેવકો તથા સુલેમાનના સર્વ સેવકો મળીને ત્રણસો બાણું હતા.
61 And these went up from Thelmeleth, Thelaresa, Charub, Eron, Jemer: but they could not declare the houses of their families, or their seed, whether they were of Israel.
૬૧તેલ-મેલાહ, તેલ-હાર્શા, કરુબ, આદ્દોન તથા ઈમ્મેરમાંથી જેઓ પાછા આવ્યા હતા તે આ છે: પણ તેઓ ઇઝરાયલીઓમાંના હતા કે નહિ એ વિષે તેઓ પોતપોતાના પૂર્વજોના કુટુંબો તથા પોતપોતાના વંશજો બતાવી શક્યા નહિ.
62 The children of Dalaia, the children of Tobia, the children of Necoda, six hundred and forty-two.
૬૨દલાયાના વંશજો, ટોબિયાના વંશજો તથા નકોદાના વંશજો છસો બેતાળીસ.
63 And of the priests; the children of Ebia, the children of Acos, the children of Berzelli, for they took wives of the daughters of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they were called by their name.
૬૩યાજકોમાંના: હબાયાના વંશજો, હાક્કોસના વંશજો અને બાર્ઝિલ્લાયના વંશજો. બાર્ઝિલ્લાયે ગિલ્યાદી દીકરીઓમાંથી એકની સાથે લગ્ન કર્યું હતું, તેથી તેઓનાં નામ પરથી તેનું નામ એ પડ્યું.
64 These sought the pedigree of their company, and it was not found, and they were removed [as polluted] from the priesthood.
૬૪જેઓ વંશાવળી પ્રમાણે ગણવામાં આવ્યા તેઓમાં તેઓએ પોતાની નોંધ શોધી, પણ તે મળી નહિ, માટે તેઓ યાજકપદમાંથી ફરિગ કરાયા.
65 And the Athersastha said, that they should not eat of the most holy things, until a priest should stand up to give light.
૬૫આગેવાનોએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે ઉરીમ અને તુમ્મીમ ધારણ કરનાર એક યાજક ઊભો થાય નહિ ત્યાં સુધી તેઓએ પરમપવિત્ર વસ્તુઓમાંથી ખાવું નહિ.
66 And all the congregation was about forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
૬૬સર્વ લોકો મળીને બેતાળીસ હજાર ત્રણસો સાઠ માણસો હતા.
67 besides their menservants and their maidservants: these were seven thousand three hundred and thirty seven: and the singing-men and singing-women, two hundred and forty-five.
૬૭તે ઉપરાંત તેઓના દાસો તથા દાસીઓ મળીને સાત હજાર ત્રણસો સાડત્રીસ હતા. તેઓમાં ગાનારાઓ તથા ગાનારીઓ બસો પિસ્તાળીસ હતા.
૬૮તેઓના ઘોડા સાતસો છત્રીસ હતા, તેઓનાં ખચ્ચર બસો પિસ્તાળીસ હતાં,
69 Two thousand seven hundred asses.
૬૯તેઓનાં ઊંટો ચારસો પાંત્રીસ અને તેઓના ગધેડાં છ હજાર સાતસો વીસ હતાં.
70 And part of the heads of families gave into the treasury to Neemias for the work a thousand pieces of gold, fifty bowls, and thirty priests' [garments].
૭૦પૂર્વજોનાં કુટુંબોમાંના મુખ્ય આગેવાનોમાંથી કેટલાકે આ કામને માટે ભેટ આપી હતી. મુખ્ય સૂબાએ એક હજાર દારીક સોનું, પચાસ પાત્રો અને પાંચસો ત્રીસ યાજકવસ્ત્રો ભંડારમાં આપ્યાં હતા.
71 And [some] of the heads of families gave into the treasuries of the work, twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand three hundred pounds of silver.
૭૧પૂર્વજોનાં કુટુંબોના આગેવાનોમાંથી કેટલાકે વીસ હજાર દારીક સોનું તથા બે હજાર બસો માનેહ ચાંદી ભંડારમાં આપ્યાં હતાં.
72 And the rest of the people gave twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' [garments].
૭૨બાકીના લોકોએ જે આપ્યું તે વીસ હજાર દારીક, બે હજાર માનેહ ચાંદી તથા સડસઠ યાજકવસ્ત્ર હતાં.
73 And the priests, and Levites, and porters, and singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nathinim, and all Israel, lived in their cities.
૭૩તેથી યાજકો, લેવીઓ, દ્વારપાળો, ગાનારાઓ, ભક્તિસ્થાનના સેવકો, કેટલાક લોકો, તથા સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓ પોતપોતાનાં નગરોમાં વસ્યા. સાતમા માસમાં ઇઝરાયલી લોકો પોતપોતાના નગરોમાં આવીને વસ્યા.”
