Naum 1
1 The burden of Nineve: the book of the vision of Naum the Elkesite.
Ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ nípa Ninefe. Ìwé ìran Nahumu ará Elkoṣi.
2 God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; the Lord avenges with wrath; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he cuts off his enemies.
Ọlọ́run ń jẹ owú, ó sì ń gbẹ̀san, Olúwa ń gbẹ̀san, ó sì kún fún ìbínú. Olúwa ń gbẹ̀san lára àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀. Ìbínú rẹ̀ kò sì yí padà lórí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀.
3 The Lord is longsuffering, and his power is great, and the Lord will not hold any guiltless: his way is in destruction and in the whirlwind, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Olúwa lọ́ra láti bínú, ó sì tóbi ní agbára; Olúwa kì yóò fi àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ sílẹ̀ láìjìyà. Ọ̀nà rẹ̀ wà nínú afẹ́fẹ́ àti nínú ìjì, ìkùùkuu sánmọ̀ sì ni eruku ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀.
4 He threatens the sea, and dries it up, and exhausts all the rivers: the land of Basan, and Carmel are brought low, and the flourishing [trees] of Libanus have come to nothing.
Ó bá òkun wí, ó sì mú kí ó gbẹ; Ó sìsọ gbogbo odò di gbígbẹ. Baṣani àti Karmeli sì rọ. Ìtànná Lebanoni sì rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills are shaken, and the earth recoils at his presence, [even] the world, and all that dwell in it.
Àwọn òkè ńlá wárìrì níwájú rẹ̀, àwọn òkè kéékèèké sì di yíyọ́, ilẹ̀ ayé sì jóná níwájú rẹ̀, àní ayé àti gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé inú rẹ̀.
6 Who shall stand before his anger? and who shall withstand in the anger of his wrath? his wrath brings to nothing kingdoms, and the rocks are burst asunder by him.
Ta ni ó lé dúró níwájú ìbínú rẹ̀? Ta ni ó lé faradà gbígbóná ìbínú rẹ̀? Ìbínú rẹ̀ tú jáde bí iná; àwọn àpáta sì fọ́ túútúú níwájú rẹ̀.
7 The Lord is good to them that wait on him in the day of affliction; and he knows them that reverence him.
Rere ni Olúwa, òun ni ààbò ní ọjọ́ ìpọ́njú. Òun sì tọ́jú àwọn tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé e,
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end: darkness shall pursue those that rise up against [him] and his enemies.
ṣùgbọ́n pẹ̀lú ìkún omi ńlá ní òun yóò fi ṣe ìparun láti ibẹ̀ dé òpin; òkùnkùn yóò sì máa lépa àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀.
9 What do you devise against the Lord? he will make a complete end: he will not take vengeance by affliction twice at the same time.
Kí ni ẹ̀yìn ń gbìmọ̀ lòdì sí Olúwa? Òun yóò fi òpin sí i, ìpọ́njú kì yóò wáyé ní ìgbà kejì.
10 For [the enemy] shall be laid bare even to the foundation, and shall be devoured as twisted yew, and as stubble fully dry.
Wọn yóò sì lọ́lù papọ̀ bí ẹ̀gún òṣùṣú wọn yóò sì mu àmupara nínú ọtí wáìnì wọn a ó sì run wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bi àgékù koríko gbígbẹ.
11 Out of you shall proceed a device against the Lord, counselling evil things hostile [to him].
Láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ, ìwọ Ninefe, ni ẹnìkan ti jáde wá tí ó ń gbèrò ibi sí Olúwa ti ó sì ń gbìmọ̀ búburú.
12 Thus says the Lord who rules over many waters, Even thus shall they be sent away, and the report of you shall not be heard any more.
Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: “Bí wọ́n tilẹ̀ ni ìfọwọ́sowọ́pọ̀, tí wọ́n sì pọ̀ níye, ṣùgbọ́n, báyìí ní a ó ké wọn lulẹ̀, nígbà tí òun ó bá kọjá. Bí mo tilẹ̀ ti pọ́n ọ lójú ìwọ Juda, èmi kì yóò pọ́n ọ lójúmọ́.
13 And now will I break his rod from off you, and will burst [your] bonds.
Nísinsin yìí ni èmi yóò já àjàgà wọn kúrò ní ọrùn rẹ èmi yóò já ṣẹ́kẹ́ṣẹkẹ̀ rẹ dànù.”
14 And the Lord shall give a command concerning you; there shall no more of your name be scattered: I will utterly destroy the graven [images] out of the house of your god, and the molten [images]: I will make your grave; for [they are] swift.
Olúwa ti fi àṣẹ kan lélẹ̀ nítorí tìrẹ Ninefe: “Ìwọ kì yóò ni irú-ọmọ láti máa jẹ́ orúkọ rẹ mọ́, Èmi yóò pa ère fínfín àti ère dídà run tí ó wà nínú tẹmpili àwọn ọlọ́run rẹ. Èmi yóò wa ibojì rẹ, nítorí ẹ̀gbin ni ìwọ.”
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings glad tidings, and publishes peace! O Juda, keep your feasts, pay your vows: for they shall no more pass through you to [your] decay.
Wò ó, lórí àwọn òkè, àwọn ẹsẹ̀ ẹni tí ó mú ìròyìn ayọ̀ wá, ẹni tí ó ń kéde àlàáfíà. Ìwọ Juda, pa àṣẹ rẹ tí ó ní ìrònú mọ́, kí ó sì san àwọn ẹ̀jẹ́ rẹ. Àwọn ènìyàn búburú kì yóò sì gbóguntì ọ́ mọ́; wọn yóò sì parun pátápátá.
