Michaeas 5
1 Now shall the daughter [of Sion] be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall strike the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
Vậy bây giờ, hãy chỉnh đốn hàng ngũ! Quân thù đang vây hãm Giê-ru-sa-lem. Chúng sẽ quất roi vào má người lãnh đạo của Ít-ra-ên.
2 And you, Bethleem, house of Ephratha, are few in number to be [reckoned] among the thousands of Juda; [yet] out of you shall one come forth to me, to be a ruler of Israel; and his goings forth were from the beginning, [even] from eternity.
Hỡi Bết-lê-hem Ép-ra-ta, ngươi chỉ là một làng nhỏ bé giữa các dân tộc của Giu-đa. Nhưng từ ngươi sẽ xuất hiện một Đấng cai trị Ít-ra-ên. Gốc tích của Người từ đời xưa, từ trước vô cùng.
3 Therefore shall he appoint them [to wait] till the time of her that travails: she shall bring forth, and [then] the remnant of their brethren shall return to the children of Israel.
Ít-ra-ên sẽ bị bỏ mặc cho kẻ thù của họ, cho đến khi người nữ chuyển bụng sinh con. Rồi những anh em còn lại sẽ trở về quê hương mình từ xứ lưu đày.
4 And the Lord shall stand, and see, and feed his flock with power, and they shall dwell in the glory of the name of the Lord their God: for now shall they be magnified to the ends of the earth.
Người sẽ đứng vững để chăn bầy mình nhờ sức mạnh Chúa Hằng Hữu, với oai nghiêm trong Danh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời mình. Con dân Người sẽ được an cư, vì Người sẽ thống trị khắp thế giới.
5 And she shall have peace when Assur shall come into your land, and when he shall come up upon your country; and there shall be raised up against him seven shepherds, and eight attacks of men.
Và Người sẽ đem lại hòa bình. Khi quân A-sy-ri xâm lăng đất nước, và đi ngang qua các cung đền, chúng ta sẽ cử bảy người chăn chúng ta, và tám lãnh đạo hướng dẫn chúng ta.
6 And they shall tend the Assyrian with a sword, and the land of Nebrod with her trench: and he shall deliver [you] from the Assyrian, when he shall come upon your land, and when he shall invade your coasts.
Họ sẽ cai trị A-sy-ri bằng gươm và tiến vào lãnh thổ của Nim-rốt. Người giải cứu chúng ta khỏi quân A-sy-ri khi chúng xâm lăng dày xéo quê hương chúng ta.
7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many peoples, as dew falling from the Lord, and as lambs on the grass; that none may assemble nor resist among the sons of men.
Lúc ấy, dân sống sót của Ít-ra-ên sẽ ở giữa nhiều dân tộc khác. Họ như sương móc từ Chúa Hằng Hữu, hay như mưa rơi trên cỏ, chẳng trông cậy vào loài người, cũng chẳng mong đợi một ai.
8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many nations, as a lion in the forest among cattle, and as a [lion's] whelp among the flocks of sheep, even as when he goes through, and selects, and carries off [his prey], and there is none to deliver.
Dân sống sót của Ít-ra-ên sẽ ở giữa các nước. Họ sẽ ở giữa nhiều dân như sư tử giữa các thú rừng, như sư tử tơ giữa bầy chiên và bầy dê, nó sẽ chà đạp và cắn xé trên đường nó đi, nếu không có người giải cứu.
9 Your hand shall be lifted up against them that afflict you, and all your enemies shall be utterly destroyed.
Dân của Ít-ra-ên sẽ đứng lên, tự tin và tất cả kẻ thù họ sẽ bị trừ diệt.
10 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord, [that] I will utterly destroy the horses out of the midst of you, and destroy your chariots;
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: “Trong ngày ấy, Ta sẽ quét sạch các chiến mã và tiêu diệt các chiến xa của ngươi.
11 and I will utterly destroy the cities of your land, and demolish all your strongholds:
Ta sẽ phá hủy các thành và kéo sập các đồn lũy ngươi.
12 and I will utterly destroy your sorceries out of your hands; and there shall be no soothsayers in you.
Ta sẽ dẹp bỏ phép phù thủy khỏi tay ngươi, và ngươi không còn thầy bói nữa.
13 And I will utterly destroy your graven images, and your statues out of the midst of you; and you shall never any more worship the works of your hands.
Ta sẽ tuyệt diệt các thần tượng chạm trổ và các trụ thờ tà thần của ngươi, để ngươi sẽ không còn quỳ lạy các tượng do tay mình làm ra.
14 And I will cut off the groves out of the midst of you, and I will abolish your cities.
Ta sẽ nhổ bật các tượng A-sê-ra và tiêu diệt các thành ngươi.
15 and I will execute vengeance on the heathen in anger and wrath, because they listened not.
Trong cơn thịnh nộ kinh khiếp, Ta sẽ báo trả tội ác của các dân tộc không chịu vâng phục Ta.”
