< Lamentations 5 >
1 Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.

2 Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:

3 we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.

4 We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us [for a burden] on our neck:
Kamamih tui ha tangka neh ka ok uh tih kamamih kah thing ha a phu daengah ha pawk.
5 we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.
Ka rhawn ah n'hloem uh vaengah ka kohnue uh pawt bangla kaimih he n'duem sak pawh.
6 Egypt gave the hand [to us], Assur to their own satisfaction.
Buh ka cung uh ham khaw Egypt neh Assyria taengah kut ka duen uh.
7 Our fathers sinned, [and] are not: we have borne their iniquities.

8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom [us] out of their hand.

9 We shall bring in our bread with [danger of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
Khosoek cunghang hmai ah ka hinglu nen ni ka buh ka dang uh.
10 Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.
Khokha rhamling hmai ah ka vin khaw hmaiulh bangla tloo coeng.
11 They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.
Zion kah huta rhoek neh Judah khopuei kah oila rhoek khaw a tholh puei uh.
12 Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honored.
Amih kut neh mangpa rhoek a kuiok sak tih patong rhoek kah maelhmai khaw hiin uh pawh.
13 The chosen men lifted up [the voice in] weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.
Tongpang rhoek loh phaklung a phueih uh tih camoe rhoek te thingpum dongah paloe uh.
14 And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.
Vongka lamkah patong rhoek neh, tongpang rhoek khaw a rhotoeng lamloh kangkuen uh.
15 The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
Kaimih lungbuei kah omthennah he kangkuen coeng tih kaimih kah lamnah khaw nguekcoinah la poeh.
16 The crown has fallen [from] our head: yes, woe to us! for we have sinned.
Kamih lu kah rhuisam khaw yulh coeng. Anunae ka tholh uh khaw kaimih ham coeng ni.
17 For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.
Te dongah ko kaimih lungbuei he pumthim hainak la coeng. He dongah kaimih kah maelhmai khaw hmuep.
18 Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.
Zion tlang aka pong te a soah maetang ni a pongpa coeng.
19 But you, O Lord, shall dwell for ever; your throne [shall endure] to generation and generation.
BOEIPA namah tah kumhal duela na om tih, na ngolkhoel khaw cadilcahma phoeikah cadilcahma duela cak.
20 Therefore will you utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?
Balae tih a yoeyah la kaimih nan hnilh? Kaimih nan hnoo khaw khohnin loh sen.
21 Turn us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.
BOEIPA aw kaimih he namah taengah m'mael sak laeh. Ka mael uh van daengah ni hlamat kah bangla kaimih kah khohnin thai neh ka mael uh eh.
22 For you have indeed rejected us; you have been very angry against us.
Kaimih taengah a nah la na thintoek tih kaimih he nan hnawt nan hnawt mai.
