< Lamentations 3 >
1 ALEPH. I am the man that sees poverty, through the rod of his wrath upon me.

2 He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, and not [into] light.
O sitela nʼihu ya chụpụ m, mee ka m jegharịa nʼọchịchịrị kama nʼìhè.
3 Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day.
Nʼezie, ọ tụgharịala aka ya megide m, mgbe mgbe, ogologo ụbọchị niile.
4 He has made old my flesh and my skin; he has broken my bones.
O meela ka akpụkpọ ahụ na anụ ahụ m fịkpọọ, ọ nyajisiela ọkpụkpụ di m nʼahụ.
5 BETH. He has built against me, and compassed my head, and brought travail [upon me].
O busola m agha, jiri ihe ilu na oke mkpagbu gbaa m gburugburu.
6 He has set me in dark places, as them that have long been dead.
O meela ka m biri nʼọchịchịrị dịka ndị nwụrụ anwụ kemgbe oge gara aga.
7 He has builded against me, and I can’t come forth: he has made my brazen [chain] heavy.
Ọ gbachibidola m ogige, ime ka m ghara ịgbapụ; o jirila ụdọ igwe dị arọ mee ka m ghara ijegharị.
8 GIMEL. Yes, [though] I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
Ọ na-eme ka ekpere m hapụ irute ya, ọ bụladị mgbe m kpọkuru ya ka o nyere m aka.
9 DALETH. He has built up my ways, he has hedged my paths;
O jirila nkume a wara awa gbachie ụzọ m niile, o meela ka okporoụzọ m gbagọọ agbagọ.
10 he has troubled me, [as] a she-bear lying in wait: he is to me [as] a lion in secret places.
Dịka anụ ọhịa bịa nke makpu na-eche nche, na dịka ọdụm nke na-ezo onwe ya,
11 He pursued [me] after I departed, and brought me to a stand: he has utterly ruined me.

12 HE. He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Ọ dọọla ụta ya mee m ka m bụrụ onye àkụ ya ga-agbata.
13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
O ji àkụ nke si nʼakpa àkụ ya gbapuo m obi.
14 I became a laughing stock to all my people; and their song all the day.
Aghọrọ m ihe ọchị nye ndị m niile; ha ji abụ na-akwa m emo ogologo ụbọchị niile.
15 VAU. He has filled me with bitterness, he has drenched me with gall.
O meela ka ihe niile na-elu ilu ju m afọ, meekwa ka m ṅụjuo oluilu afọ.
16 And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, he has fed me with ashes.
O meela ka m jiri okwute tajisie eze m, o kponyekwala m ntụ nʼọnụ m.
17 He has also removed my soul from peace: I forgot prosperity.
Enweghị m udo, echezọkwaala m ihe ọganihu bụ.
18 Therefore my success has perished, and my hope from the Lord.
Nʼihi ya, ana m ekwu, “Ịma mma m ọbụla adịghịkwa. Agaghị m enwetakwa ihe ndị ahụ m lere anya na m ga-esi nʼaka Onyenwe anyị nweta.”
19 ZAIN. I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered;
Ana m echeta ahụhụ m, na mwagharị m, ya na ihe ilu na oluilu.
20 and my soul shall meditate with me.
Mgbe m na-echeta ya, obi m na-ada mba nʼime m.
21 This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure.
Ma ọ dị ihe m na-echeta nʼobi m nke na-eme ka m nwee olileanya.
22 HETH. [It is] the mercies of the Lord, that he has not failed me, because his compassions are not exhausted. Pity [us], O Lord, early [every] month: for we are not brought to an end, because his compassions are not exhausted.
Ọ bụ nʼihi ịhụnanya dị ukwuu nke Onyenwe anyị na-emeghị ka anyị gwụsịa, nʼihi na obi ebere ya adịghị agwụ agwụ.
23 [They are] new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
Ha na-adị ọhụrụ ụtụtụ niile; ikwesi ntụkwasị obi gị bụ ihe kwudosiri ike.
24 The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I wait for him.
Mkpụrụobi m na-ekwu, “Onyenwe anyị bụ oke m, nʼihi ya, aga m enwe nchekwube na ya.”
25 TETH. The Lord is good to them that wait for him: the soul which shall seek him
Onyenwe anyị dị mma nʼebe ndị olileanya ha dị nʼime ya, e, nʼebe obi ahụ dị, nke na-achọsi ya ike.
26 [is] good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation of the Lord.
Ọ bụ ihe dị mma iji nwayọọ chere nzọpụta nke Onyenwe anyị.
27 TETH. [It is] good for a man when he bears a yoke in his youth.
Ọ bụ ihe dị mma ka mmadụ buru ibu arọ dịrị ya mgbe ọ bụ okorobịa.
28 He will sit alone, and be silent, because he has borne [it] upon him.
Ya nọrọkwa duu naanị ya, nʼihi na ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị bokwasịrị ya ibu ahụ.
Ya tinye ihu ya nʼaja, nʼihi na olileanya nwere ike dịrị.
30 JOD. He will give [his] cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.
Ya cheziere onye ahụ chọrọ iti ya ihe ntị ya, ya kwerekwa ka ihe ihere ju ya afọ.
31 For the Lord will not reject for ever.
Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị adịghị ajụ onye ọbụla ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
32 CHAPH. For he that has brought down will pity, and [that] according to the abundance of his mercy.
Ọ bụ ezie na ọ na-eme ka mmekpa ahụ bịa, ma ọ na-emesịakwa gosi obi ebere ya, nʼihi na ịhụnanya ya, nke na-adịghị agwụ agwụ, dị ukwuu.
33 He has not answered [in anger] from his heart, though he has brought low the children of a man.
Nʼihi na ọ naghị elezi anya eweta ahụhụ, maọbụ mee ka ụmụ mmadụ nọọ na mmekpa ahụ.
34 LAMED. To bring down under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
Iji ụkwụ zọgbuo ndị mkpọrọ nọ nʼala ahụ
35 to turn aside the judgment of a man before the face of the Most High,
ime ka ihe ruru mmadụ hapụ iru ya aka nʼihu Onye kachasị ihe niile elu,
36 to condemn a man [unjustly] in his judgment, the Lord has not given commandment.
ime ka ikpe ziri ezi ghara irute mmadụ. Ọ bụ na Onyenwe anyị agaghị ahụ ihe ndị a?
37 Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? the Lord has not commanded it.
Onye pụrụ ikwu okwu mekwa ka ọ dị ire ma ọ bụrụ na Onyenwe anyị enyeghị iwu ka ọ dị otu ahụ?
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.
Ọ bụghị site nʼọnụ Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ka ihe ọma na ihe ọjọọ si abịa?
39 MEM. Why should a living man complain, a man concerning his sin?
Gịnị mere mmadụ dị ndụ ga-eji tamuo ntamu mgbe ọ na-ahụ ahụhụ nʼihi mmehie ya?
40 NUN. Our way has been searched out and examined, and we will turn to the Lord.
Ka anyị nyochaanụ ụzọ anyị nwapụta ya. Ka anyị lọghachikwutenụ Onyenwe anyị.
41 Let us lift up our hearts with [our] hand to the lofty One in heaven.
Ka anyị welie aka anyị abụọ na obi anyị elu nye Chineke nọ nʼeluigwe, sị:
42 We have sinned, we have transgressed; and you have not pardoned.
“Anyị emehiela, nupu isi, ma ị gbagharabeghị.
43 SAMECH. You has visited [us] in wrath, and driven us away: you has slain, you has not pitied.
“I jirila iwe kpuchie onwe gị, si otu a chụọ anyị ọsọ. I gbuola anyị, jụ imere anyị ebere.
44 You have veiled yourself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind,
I jiri igwe ojii kpuchie onwe gị ka ekpere anyị ghara irute gị.
45 and be cast off. AIN. You have set us [alone] in the midst of the nations.
I meela ka anyị ghọọ unyi na ihe a zachapụrụ azachapụ nʼetiti mba niile.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
“Ndị iro anyị niile asaghepụla ọnụ ha megide anyị.
47 Fear and wrath are come upon us, suspense and destruction.
Anyị ahụọla ahụhụ site nʼoke ihe egwu na ihe ndaba dị iche iche, na mbibi na ịla nʼiyi.”
48 Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Anya mmiri nke dịka iyi na-asọ asọ si nʼanya m na-asọpụta nʼihi ndị m a lara nʼiyi.
49 PHE. Mine eye is drowned [with tears], and I will not be silent, so that there shall be no rest,
Anya mmiri si m nʼanya ga-anọgide na-asọpụta na-akwụsịghị akwụsị,
50 until the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
tutu ruo mgbe Onyenwe anyị ga-esite nʼeluigwe ledata anya ma hụ.
51 Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, because of all the daughters of the city.
Ihe anya m na-ahụ na-ewetara mkpụrụobi m ihe mgbu, nʼihi ọnọdụ nke ndị inyom niile nọ nʼime obodo m.
52 TSADE. The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, all mine enemies destroyed my life in a pit without cause,
Ndị ahụ mere onwe ha ndị iro m, ndị m na-emeghị ihe ọjọọ ọbụla, na-achụ m ọsọ dịka m bụ nnụnụ.
53 and laid a stone upon me.
Ha gbalịrị ime ka m nwụọ nʼime olulu site nʼịtụ m nkume.
54 Water flowed over my head: I said, I am cut off.
Mmiri kpuchiri m isi, echere m na-efuola m.
55 KOPH. I called upon your name, O Lord, out of the lowest dungeon.
Esitere m na nsọtụ olulu ahụ kpọkuo aha gị, gị Onyenwe anyị.
56 You heard my voice: close not your ears to my supplication.
Ị nụrụ arịrịọ m rịọrọ gị, “Biko, emechila ntị gị. Nụrụ arịrịọ inyeaka nke m na-arịọ gị.”
57 You drew near to my help: in the day wherein I called upon you you said to me, Fear not.
Ị bịara nso mgbe m kpọkuru gị. Ị sịrị, “Atụla egwu.”
58 RECHS. O Lord, you has pleaded the causes of my soul; you has redeemed my life.
Gị onwe gị, Onyenwe anyị, kpechitere ọnụ m, gị gbapụtara ndụ m.
59 You have seen, O Lord, my troubles: you have judged my cause.
Onyenwe anyị, ị hụla ihe ọjọọ ha mere m. Kpechitere m ọnụ m.
60 You have seen all their vengeance, [you have looked] on all their devices against me.
Ị hụla ịbọ ọbọ ha niile na nzube niile ha na-ezube megide m.
61 CHSEN. You have heard their reproach [and] all their devices against me;
Onyenwe anyị, ị nụla nkọcha niile ha na-akọcha m na nzube niile ha na-ezube megide m.
62 the lips of them that rose up against me, and their plots against me all the day;
Ị na-anụ izu na ntamu nke ndị iro m megide m ogologo ụbọchị niile.
63 their sitting down and their rising up: look you upon their eyes.
Lee ha! Ha na-akọcha m mgbe ha guzoro ọtọ, na-akọcha m mgbe ha nọdụrụ ala. Ha ji abụ na-akọcha m.
64 You will render them a recompense, O Lord, according to the works of their hands.
Onyenwe anyị, biko, kwụghachi ha ihe ruuru ha, nʼihi ihe niile aka ha rụpụtara.
65 THAU. You will give them [as] a covering, the grief of my heart.
Jiri ihe mkpudo kpuchie obi ha. Meekwa ka ịbụ ọnụ gị dịkwasị ha.
66 You will persecute them in anger, and will consume them from under the heaven, O Lord.
Site nʼiwe gị chụọ ha ọsọ. Laakwa ha nʼiyi nʼiwe gị, ka ha ghara ịdịkwa nʼokpuru eluigwe nke Onyenwe anyị ọzọ.
