Joshua 15
1 And the borders of the tribe of Juda according to their families were from the borders of Idumea from the wilderness of sin, as far as Cades southward.

2 And their borders were from the south as far as a part of the salt sea from the high country that extends southward.

3 And they proceed before the ascent of Acrabin, and go out round Sena, and go up from the south to Cades Barne; and go out to Asoron, and proceed up to Sarada, and go out by the way that is west of Cades.
poi procedeva a sud della salita di Akrabbim, passava per Sin e risaliva a sud di Kades-Barnea; passava poi da Chezron, saliva ad Addar e girava verso Karkaa;
4 And they go out to Selmona, and issue at the valley of Egypt; and the termination of its boundaries shall be at the sea: these are their boundaries southward.
passava poi da Azmon e raggiungeva il torrente d'Egitto e faceva capo al mare. Questo sarà il vostro confine meridionale.
5 And their boundaries eastward [are] all the salt sea as far as Jordan; and their borders from the north, and from the border of the sea, and from part of Jordan—
A oriente il confine era costituito dal Mar Morto fino alla foce del Giordano. Dal lato settentrionale il confine partiva dalla lingua di mare presso la foce del Giordano,
6 the borders go up to Baethaglaam, and they go along from the north to Baetharaba, and the borders go on up to the stone of Baeon the son of Ruben.
saliva a Bet-Ogla e passava a nord di Bet-Araba e saliva alla Pietra di Bocan, figlio di Ruben.
7 And the borders continue on to the fourth part of the valley of Achor, and go down to Galgal, which is before the approach of Adammin, which is southward in the valley, and terminate at the water of the fountain of the sun; and their going forth shall be the fountain of Rogel.
Poi il confine saliva a Debir, per la valle di Acor e, a nord, girava verso le curve, che sono di fronte alla salita di Adummin, a mezzogiorno del torrente; passava poi alle acque di En-Semes e faceva capo a En-Roghel.
8 And the borders go up to the valley of Ennom, behind Jebus southward; this is Jerusalem: and the borders terminate at the top of the mountain, which is before the valley of Ennom toward the sea, which is by the side of the land of Raphain northward.
Saliva poi la valle di Ben-Innom a sud del fianco dei Gebusei, cioè di Gerusalemme; poi il confine saliva sulla vetta della montagna che domina la valle di Innom ad ovest ed è alla estremità della pianura dei Refaim, al nord.
9 And the border [going forth] from the top of the mountain terminates at the fountain of the water of Naphtho, and terminates at mount Ephron; and the border will lead to Baal; this is the city of Jarim.
Poi il confine piegava dalla vetta della montagna verso la fonte delle Acque di Neftoach e usciva al monte Efron; piegava poi verso Baala, che è Kiriat-Iearim.
10 And the border will go round from Baal to the sea, and will go on to the mount of Assar behind the city of Jarin northwards; this is Chaslon: and it will come down to the city of Sun, and will go on to the south.
Indi il confine girava da Baala, ad occidente, verso il monte Seir, passava sul pendio settentrionale del monte Iearim, cioè Chesalon, scendeva a Bet-Semes e passava a Timna.
11 And the border terminates behind Accaron northward, and the borders will terminate at Socchoth, and the borders will go on to the south, and will terminate at Lebna, and the issue of the borders will be at the sea; and their borders [shall be] toward the sea, the great sea shall be the boundary.
Poi il confine raggiungeva il pendio settentrionale di Ekron, quindi piegava verso Siccaron, passava per il monte Baala, raggiungeva Iabneel e terminava al mare.
12 These [are] the borders of the children of Juda round about according to their families.
La frontiera occidentale era il Mar Mediterraneo. Questo era da tutti i lati il confine dei figli di Giuda, secondo le loro famiglie.
13 And to Chaleb the son of Jephone he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Juda by the command of God; and Joshua gave him the city of Arboc the metropolis of Enac; this is Chebron.
A Caleb figlio di Iefunne fu data una parte in mezzo ai figli di Giuda, secondo l'ordine del Signore a Giosuè: fu data Kiriat-Arba, padre di Anak, cioè Ebron.
14 And Chaleb the son of Jephone destroyed thence the three sons of Enac, Susi, and Tholami, and Achima.
Caleb scacciò di là i tre figli di Anak, Sesai, Achiman e Talmai, discendenti di Anak.
15 And Chaleb went up thence to the inhabitants of Dabir; and the name of Dabir before was the city of Letters.
Di là passò ad assalire gli abitanti di Debir. Si chiamava Debir Kiriat-Sefer.
16 And Chaleb said, Whosoever shall take and destroy the city of Letters, and master it, to him will I give my daughter Ascha to wife.
Disse allora Caleb: «A chi colpirà Kiriat-Sefer e se ne impadronirà, io darò in moglie Acsa, mia figlia».
17 And Gothoniel the son of Chenez the brother of Chaleb took it; and he gave him Ascha his daughter to wife.
Se ne impadronì Otniel, figlio di Kenaz, fratello di Caleb; a lui diede in moglie sua figlia Acsa.
18 And it came to pass as she went out that she counselled him, saying, I will ask of my father a field; and she cried from off her ass; and Chaleb said to her, What is it?

19 And she said to him, Give me a blessing, for you have set me in the land of Nageb; give me Botthanis: and he gave her Gonaethla the upper, and Gonaethla the lower.
Gli disse: «Concedimi un favore. Poiché tu mi hai dato il paese del Negheb, dammi anche alcune sorgenti d'acqua». Le diede allora la sorgente superiore e la sorgente inferiore.
20 This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Juda.
Questa fu l'eredità della tribù dei figli di Giuda, secondo le loro famiglie.
21 And their cities were cities belonging to the tribe of the children of Juda on the borders of Edom by the wilderness, and Baeseleel, and Ara, and Asor,

25 and the cities of Aseron, this [is] Asor,
Caroz-Adatta, Keriot-Chezron, cioè Cazor,
26 and Sen, and Salmaa, and Molada,
Amam, Sema, Molada,
27 and Seri, and Baephalath,
Cazar-Gadda, Esmon, Bet-Pelet,
28 and Cholaseola, and Beersabee; and their villages, and their hamlets,
Cazar-Sual, Bersabea e le sue dipendenze,
29 Bala and Bacoc, and Asom,
Baala, Iim, Ezem,
30 and Elboudad, and Baethel, and Herma,
Eltolad, Chesil, Corma,
31 and Sekelac, and Macharim, and Sethennac,

32 and Labos, and Sale, and Eromoth; twenty-nine cities, and their villages.

33 In the plain country Astaol, and Raa, and Assa,

36 And Sacarim and Gadera, and its villages; fourteen cities, and their villages;
Saaraim, Aditaim, Ghedera e Ghederotaim: quattordici città e i loro villaggi;
37 Senna, and Adasan, and Magadalgad,
Senan, Cadasa, Migdal-Gad,
38 and Dalad, and Maspha, and Jachareel,
Dilean, Mizpe, Iokteel,
39 and Basedoth, and Ideadalea;
Lachis, Boskat, Eglon,
40 and Chabra, and Maches, and Maachos,
Cabbon, Lacmas, Chitlis,
41 and Geddor, and Bagadiel, and Noman, and Machedan: sixteen cities, and their villages;
Ghederot, Bet-Dagon, Naama e Makkeda: sedici città e i loro villaggi;
42 Lebna, and Ithac, and Anoch,
Libna, Eter, Asan,
43 and Jana, and Nasib,
Iftach, Asna, Nesib,
44 and Keilam, and Akiezi, and Kezib, and Bathesar, and Aelom: ten cities, and their villages;
Keila, Aczib e Maresa: nove città e i loro villaggi;
45 Accaron and her villages, and their hamlets:

48 And in the hill country Samir, and Jether, and Socha,

52 Aerem, and Remna, and Soma,

53 and Jemain, and Baethachu, and Phacua,
Ianum, Bet-Tappuach, Afeka,
54 and Euma, and the city Arboc, this is Chebron, and Soraith: nine cities and their villages:
Umta, Kiriat-Arba, cioè Ebron e Sior: nove città e i loro villaggi.
55 Maor, and Chermel, and Ozib, and Itan,
Maon, Carmelo, Zif, Iutta,
56 and Jariel, and Aricam, and Zacanaim,
Izreel, Iokdeam, Zanoach,
57 and Gabaa, and Thamnatha; nine cities, and their villages;
Kain, Ghibea e Timna: dieci città e i loro villaggi.
58 Aelua, and Bethsur, and Geddon,
Calcul, Bet-Sur, Ghedor,
59 and Magaroth, and Baethanam, and Thecum; six cities, and their villages; Theco, and Ephratha, this is Baethleem, and Phagor, and Aetan, and Culon, and Tatam, and Thobes, and Carem, and Galem, and Thether, and Manocho: eleven cities, and their villages,
Maarat, Bet-Anot e Eltekon: sei città e i loro villaggi. Tekoa, Efrata, cioè Betlemme, Peor, Etam, Culon, Tatam, Sores, Carem, Gallim, Beter, Manak: undici città e i loro villaggi.
60 Cariathbaal, this [is] the city of Jarim, and Sotheba: two cities, and their villages:
Kiriat-Baal, cioè Kiriat-Iearim, e Rabba: due città e i loro villaggi.
61 and Baddargeis, and Tharabaam, and Aenon;
Nel deserto: Bet-Araba, Middin, Secaca,
62 and Aeochioza, and Naphlazon, and the cities of Sadon, and Ancades; seven cities, and their villages.
Nibsan, la città del sale e Engaddi: sei città e i loro villaggi.
63 And the Jebusite lived in Jerusalem, and the children of Juda could not destroy them; and the Jebusites lived in Jerusalem to this day.
Quanto ai Gebusei che abitavano in Gerusalemme, i figli di Giuda non riuscirono a scacciarli; così i Gebusei abitano a Gerusalemme insieme con i figli di Giuda fino ad oggi.
