< Joshua 14 >
1 And these [are] they of the children of Israel that received their inheritance in the land of Chanaan, to whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the [son] of Naue, and the heads of the families of the tribes of the children of Israel, gave inheritance.
Israelfoɔ mmusuakuo nkaeɛ no nyaa nsase wɔ Kanaan sɛ agyapadeɛ, sɛdeɛ ɔsɔfoɔ Eleasa, Nun babarima Yosua ne Israel mmusuakuo ntuanofoɔ no de maa wɔn.
2 They inherited according to their lots, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Joshua to the nine tribes and the half tribe, on the other side of Jordan.
Saa mmusuakuo nkron ne fa yi nam ntontobɔ so na wɔnyaa wɔn agyapadeɛ no sɛdeɛ Awurade faa Mose so hyɛɛ no.
3 But to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
Na Mose ama mmusuakuo mmienu ne fa no nsase sɛ wɔn agyapadeɛ wɔ Asubɔnten Yordan apueeɛ fam dada.
4 For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, Manasse and Ephraim; and there was none inheritance in the land given to the Levites, only cities to dwell in, and their suburbs separated for the cattle, and their cattle.
Yosef abusuakuo no deɛ, na abɛyɛ mmusuakuo mmienu a wɔn ne Manase ne Efraim. Lewifoɔ no deɛ, wɔamma wɔn asase no mu bi koraa, gye nkuro a wɔbɛtena so ne adidibea a wɔn nnwan ne wɔn anantwie bɛkɔ so adidi.
5 As the Lord commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel; and they divided the land.
Enti, asase no mu kyekyɛ no, wɔgyinaa mmara a Awurade de maa Mose no so pɛpɛɛpɛ.
6 And the children of Juda came to Joshua in Galgal, and Chaleb the [son] of Jephone the Kenezite said to him, You know the word that the Lord spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and you in Cades Barne.
Wɔtuu asomafoɔ firi Yuda abusuakuo mu a Kaleb a ɔyɛ Kenesini, Yefune babarima di wɔn anim baa Yosua nkyɛn wɔ Gilgal. Kaleb ka kyerɛɛ Yosua sɛ, “Kae asɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose, Onyankopɔn onipa, a ɛfa me ne wo ho wɔ ɛberɛ a na yɛwɔ Kades-Barnea no.
7 For I was forty years old when Moses the servant of God sent me out of Cades Barne to spy out the land; and I returned him an answer according to his mind.
Ɛberɛ a Mose, Awurade ɔsomfoɔ no somaa me firi Kades-Barnea sɛ menkɔhwehwɛ Kanaan asase no so no, na madi mfeɛ aduanan. Mesane mʼakyi na mefiri akoma pa mu bɛkaa deɛ mehunuiɛ nyinaa,
8 My brethren that went up with me turned away the heart of the people, but I applied my self to follow the Lord my God.
nanso me nuanom a wɔkaa me ho kɔɔ no, hunahunaa nnipa no, tuu wɔn aba mu sɛ wɔnntu wɔn nan nnsi Bɔhyɛ Asase no so. Na me fam mu deɛ, mede me ho nyinaa dii Awurade, me Onyankopɔn akyi.
9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, The land on which you are gone up, it shall be your inheritance and your children's for ever, because you have applied yourself to follow the Lord our God.
Enti saa ɛda no, Mose hyɛɛ me bɔ sɛ, ‘Kanaan asase a wokɔnantee so yi bɛyɛ wo ne wʼasefoɔ agyapadeɛ sononko daa nyinaa, ɛfiri sɛ, wofiri wʼakoma nyinaa mu adi Awurade, me Onyankopɔn akyi.’
10 And now the Lord has kept me alive as he said: this [is] the forty-fifth year since the Lord spoke that word to Moses; and Israel journeyed in the wilderness; and now, behold, I [am] this day eighty-five years old.
“Afei, sɛdeɛ wohunu yi, Awurade ahwɛ me so yie mfeɛ aduanan enum firi ɛberɛ a Mose hyɛɛ saa bɔ yi wɔ ɛberɛ a na Israelfoɔ nenam ɛserɛ so no. Ɛnnɛ madi mfeɛ aduɔwɔtwe enum.
11 I am still strong this day, as when the Lord sent me: just so strong am I now to go out and to come in for war.
Me ho yɛ den ɛnnɛ te sɛ ɛda a Mose somaa me no na mɛtumi atu kwan akɔ ɔko ano seesei te sɛ kane no.
12 And now I ask of you this mountain, as the Lord said in that day; for you heard this word on that day; and now the Enakim are there, cities great and strong: if then the Lord should be with me, I will utterly destroy them, as the Lord said to me.
Enti merebisa na wode bepɔ asase a Awurade de hyɛɛ me bɔ no ama me. Wobɛkae sɛ na yɛyɛ akwansrafoɔ no, yɛhunuu sɛ Anakfoɔ tete nkuropɔn akɛseɛ a wato ɔfasuo afa ho mu. Nanso sɛ Awurade ka me ho a, mɛpam wɔn afiri asase no so sɛdeɛ Awurade kaa no.”
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave Chebron to Chaleb the son of Jephone the son of Kenez for an inheritance.
Na Yosua hyiraa Kaleb, Yefune babarima no de Hebron maa no sɛ agyapadeɛ.
14 Therefore Chebron became the inheritance of Chaleb the [son] of Jephone the Kenezite until this day, because he followed the commandment of the Lord God of Israel.
Hebron da so yɛ Kaleb, Yefune a ɔyɛ Kenesini babarima no asefoɔ dea, ɛfiri sɛ ɔde nʼakoma nyinaa dii Awurade Israel Onyankopɔn akyi.
15 And the name of Chebron before was the city Argob, it [is] the metropolis of the Enakim: and the land rested from war.
(Kane no na wɔfrɛ Hebron sɛ Kiriat-Arba. Wɔde Arba yi too Anakfoɔ mu okunini kɛseɛ pa ara bi.) Na akokoakoko firii asase no so.
