Joel 1
1 The word of the Lord which came to Joel the son of Bathuel.

2 Hear these [words], you elders, and listen all you that inhabit the land. Have such things happen in your days, or in the days of your fathers?

3 Tell your children concerning them, and [let] your children [tell] their children, and their children another generation.
Haddaba idinku carruurtiinna u sheega, oo carruurtiinnuna carruurtooda ha u sii sheegeen, oo carruurtooduna qarni kale ha u sii sheegeen.
4 The leavings of the caterpillar has the locust eaten, and the leavings of the locust has the palmerworm eaten, and the leavings of the palmerworm has the cankerworm eaten.
Wixii koronkorrada ka hadhay ayax baa cunay, oo wixii ayaxa ka hadhayna laddaa baa cunay, oo wixii laddaaga ka hadhayna diir baa cuntay.
5 Awake, you drunkards, from your wine, and weep: mourn, all you that drink wine to drunkenness: for joy and gladness and removed are from your mouth.
Kuwiinna sakhraamiinta ahow, toosa, oo ooya, kuwiinna khamriga cabta oo dhammow, khamrigii macaanaa aawadiis u baroorta, waayo, waa idinka go'ay.
6 For a strong and innumerable nation is come up against my land, their teeth are lion's teeth, and their back teeth those of a [lion's] whelp.
Waayo, dalkaygii waxaa ku soo kacay quruun xoog badan oo aan tiro lahayn, oo ilkahoodu waa sida ilko libaax oo kale, oo waxay leeyihiin miciyo gool libaax oo kale.
7 He has ruined my vine, and utterly broken my fig-trees: he has utterly searched [my vine], and cast it down; he has peeled its branches.
Geedahaygii canabka ahaa way baabbi'iyeen, oo dhirtaydii berdaha ahaydna way diirteen, wayna mudhxiyeen oo kala tuurtuureen, oo laamahoodiina waa qayax cad.
8 Lament to me more than a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
Haddaba u musannaaba sidii gabadh joonyad xidhatay oo u barooranaysa arooskeedii ka dhintay.
9 The meat-offering and drink-offering are removed from the house of the Lord: mourn, you priests that serve at the altar of the Lord.
Qurbaankii hadhuudhka iyo qurbaankii cabniinku waa ka go'een gurigii Rabbiga, oo wadaaddada ah Rabbiga midiidinnadiisa way barooranayaan.
10 For the plains languish: let the land mourn, for the corn languishes; the wine is dried up, the oil becomes scarce;
Beertii way ba'day oo dhulkii wuu barooranayaa, waayo, hadhuudhkii wuu baabba'ay, oo khamrigii cusbaana waa engegay, oo saliiddiina way cidlaanaysaa.
11 the husbandmen are consumed: mourn your property on account of the wheat and barley; for the harvest has perished from off the field.
Kuwiinna beerreyda ahow, isku naxa, oo kuwiinna beeraha canabka ah ka shaqeeyow, u ooya sarreenka iyo shiciirka aawadood, waayo, beerta midhaheedii way baabbe'een.
12 The vine is dried up, and the fig-trees are become few; the pomegranate, and palm tree, and apple, and all trees of the field are dried up: for the sons of men have have abolished joy.
Canabkii wuu engegay, oo berdihiina wuu dhaday, oo geedkii rummaanka, iyo geedkii timirta, iyo geedkii tufaaxa, iyo xataa dhirtii berrinka ku tiil oo dhammu way wada engegeen, oo farxaddiina way ka dhammaatay binu-aadmiga.
13 Gird yourselves [with sackcloth], and lament, you priests: mourn, you that serve at the altar: go in, sleep in sackcloths, you that minister to God: for the meat-offering and drink-offering are withheld from the house of your God.
Kuwiinna wadaaddada ahow, joonyado guntada oo ooya, oo kuwiinna meesha allabariga ka adeegow, baroorta. Ilaahayga midiidinnadiisow, kaalaya oo habeenka oo dhan joonyado ku jiifa, waayo, qurbaankii hadhuudhka iyo qurbaankii cabniinkaba waa laga joojiyey gurigii Ilaahiinna.
14 Sanctify a fast, proclaim a [solemn] service, gather the elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land into the house of your God, and cry earnestly to the Lord,
Haddaba soon naadiya, oo shir ku dhawaaqa, oo soo wada ururiya odayaasha iyo dadka dalka deggan oo dhan, oo waxaad isugu keentaan guriga Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ah, oo markaas Rabbiga u qayshada.
15 Alas, Alas, Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is near, and it will come as trouble upon trouble.
Waxaa hoogtay maalintaas! Waayo, maalintii Rabbigu way soo dhow dahay, oo waxay u imanaysaa sida halligaad ka timid xagga Ilaaha Qaadirka ah.
16 [Your] meat has been destroyed before your eyes, joy and gladness from out of the house of your God.
War cuntadii sow kama go'in indhahayaga hortooda, farxaddii iyo rayrayntiina sow kama baabbi'in gurigii Ilaahayaga?
17 The heifers have started at their mangers, the treasures are abolished, the wine presses are broken down; for the corn is withered.
Abuurkii la beeray wuxuu ku qalalay ciidda hoosteeda, oo maqsinnadiina way baabbe'een, oo bakhaarradiina waa la dumiyey, maxaa yeelay, hadhuudhkii baa qalalay.
18 What shall we store up for ourselves? the herds of cattle have mourned, because they had no pasture; and the flocks of sheep have been utterly destroyed.
Xayawaanku aad iyo aad bay u cabaadaan, oo sofyada lo'da ahu waxay la welwelsan yihiin daaqla'aan, oo xataa xeryaha idaha ahu waa dhibaataysan yihiin.
19 To you, O Lord, will I cry: for fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness, and a flame has burnt up all the trees of the field.
Rabbiyow, adigaan kuu qayshanayaa, waayo, dab baa laastay daaqii cidlada, oo dhirtii duurka ku tiilna olol baa wada gubay.
20 And the cattle of the field have looked up to you: for the fountains of waters have been dried up, and fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness.
Haddaba xayawaankii duurku biyahay kaa doonayaan, waayo, durdurradii biyuhu way engegeen, oo daaqii cidladana dab baa laastay.
