Job 35
1 And Elius resumed and said,
Eliú respondeu mais, dizendo:
2 What is this that you think to be according to right? who are you that you have said, I am righteous before the Lord?
Pensas tu ser direito dizeres: Maior é a minha justiça do que a de Deus?
3 I will answer you, and your three friends.
Porque disseste: Para que ela te serve? [Ou]: Que proveito terei dela mais que meu pecado?
4 Look up to the sky and see; and consider the clouds, how high [they are] above you.
Eu darei reposta a ti, e a teus amigos contigo.
5 If you have sinned, what will you do?
Olha para os céus, e vê; e observa as nuvens, [que] são mais altas que tu.
6 and if too you have transgressed much, what can you perform?
Se tu pecares, que [mal] farás contra ele? Se tuas transgressões se multiplicarem, que [mal] lhe farás?
7 And suppose you are righteous, what will you give him? or what shall he receive of your hand?
Se fores justo, que lhe darás? Ou o que ele receberá de tua mão?
8 Your ungodliness [may affect] a man who is like to you; or your righteousness a son of man.
Tua perversidade [poderia afetar] a outro homem como tu; e tua justiça [poderia ser proveitosa] a [algum] filho do homem.
9 They that are oppressed of a multitude will be ready to cry out; they will call for help because of the arm of many.
[Os aflitos] clamam por causa da grande opressão; eles gritam por causa do poder dos grandes.
10 But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night-watches;
Porém ninguém diz: Onde está Deus, meu Criador, que dá canções na noite,
11 who makes me to differ from the four-footed beasts of the earth, and from the birds of the sky?
Que nos ensina mais que aos animais da terra, e nos faz sábios mais que as aves do céu?
12 There they shall cry, and none shall listen, even because of the insolence of wicked men.
Ali clamam, porém ele não responde, por causa da arrogância dos maus.
13 For the Lord desires not to look on error, for he is the Almighty One.
Certamente Deus não ouvirá a súplica vazia, nem o Todo-Poderoso dará atenção a ela.
14 He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me: and do you plead before him, if you can praise him, as it is [possible] even now.
Quanto menos ao que disseste: que tu não o vês! Porém o juízo está diante dele; portanto espera nele.
15 For he is not [now] regarding his wrath, nor has he noticed severely any trespass.
Mas agora, já que a ira dele [ainda] não está castigando, e ele não deu completa atenção à arrogância,
16 Yet Job vainly opens his mouth, in ignorance he multiplies words.
Por isso Jó abriu sua boca em vão, e multiplicou palavras sem conhecimento.
