< Job 26 >
1 But Job answered and said,
Ka naʻe tali ʻe Siope, ʻo ne pehē,
2 To whom do you attach yourself, or whom are you going to assist? is it not he that [has] much strength, and [he] who has a strong arm?
“ʻOku fēfē ʻa hoʻo tokoni ki he taʻemālohi? ʻOku fakamoʻui fēfē ʻe koe ʻae nima vaivai?
3 To whom have you given counsel? is it not to him who has all wisdom? whom will you follow? is it not one who has the greatest power?
ʻOku fēfē ʻa hoʻo fakapotoʻi ʻae taʻepoto? Pea fēfē ʻa hoʻo fakahā lahi ʻae meʻa ʻoku totonu?
4 To whom have you uttered words? and whose breath is it that has come forth from you?
Ko hoʻo lea mai kia hai? Pea ko e laumālie ʻo hai kuo haʻu meiate koe?
5 Shall giants be born from under the water and the inhabitants thereof?
“Ko e kakai mālohi kuo mate, mo kinautolu ʻoku nau nonofo, ʻoku nau feinga ki lalo ʻi he ngaahi vai.
6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction has no covering. (Sheol )
ʻOku vavanga ʻae maama fufū ʻi hono ʻao, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻufiʻufi ʻoe potu fakaʻauha. (Sheol )
7 He stretches out the north wind upon nothing, and he upon nothing hangs the earth;
ʻOku ne folahi atu ʻe ia ʻae potu fakatokelau ʻi he atāloa, pea ne tautau ʻa māmani ki he ʻatā noa pe.
8 binding water in his clouds, and the cloud is not tore under it.
ʻOku ne haʻihaʻi ʻae ngaahi vai ʻi hono ngaahi ʻao matolu; pea ʻoku ʻikai mahaehae ai ʻae ʻao.
9 He keeps back the face of his throne, stretching out his cloud upon it.
ʻOku ne taʻofi atu ʻa hono muʻa ʻafioʻanga, ʻo ne folahi ʻene ʻao ki ai.
10 He has encompassed the face of the water by an appointed ordinance, until the end of light and darkness.
ʻOku ne takatakai ʻae moana ʻo ʻai hono ngataʻanga, kaeʻoua ke ʻosi ʻae ʻaho mo e pō.
11 The pillars of heaven are prostrate and astonished at his rebuke.
ʻOku ngalulu ʻae ngaahi pou ʻoe langi, pea ofo ʻi heʻene valoki.
12 He has calmed the sea with [his] might, and by [his] wisdom the whale has been overthrown.
ʻOku ne fakalaolao ʻae tahi ʻaki hono mālohi, pea ʻi heʻene poto ʻoku ne tā hifo ʻae laukau.
13 And the barriers of heaven fear him, and by a command he has slain the apostate dragon.
Ko hono laumālie kuo ne teuteu ʻaki ʻae ngaahi langi; pea kuo ngaohi ʻe hono nima ʻae ngata pikopiko.
14 Behold, these are parts of his way; and we will listen to him at the least intimation of his word: but the strength of his thunder who knows, when he shall employ [it]?
Vakai, ko e meʻa niʻihi pe eni ʻi hono ngaahi hala: ka ʻikai ko e meʻa siʻi ʻaupito ʻiate ia ʻoku tau fanongo ai? Pea ko e mana ʻo hono mālohi ko hai te ne faʻa ʻiloʻi?”
