< Job 23 >
1 Then Job answered and said,
Ìgbà náà ni Jobu sì dáhùn wí pé,
2 Yes, I know that pleading is out of my reach; and his hand has been made heavy upon my groaning.
“Àní lónìí ni ọ̀ràn mi korò; ọwọ́ mí sì wúwo sí ìkérora mi.
3 Who would then know that I might find him, and come to an end [of the matter]?
Háà! èmi ìbá mọ ibi tí èmí ìbá wá Ọlọ́run rí, kí èmí kí ó tọ̀ ọ́ lọ sí ibùgbé rẹ̀!
4 And I would plead my own cause, and he would fill my mouth with arguments.
Èmi ìbá sì to ọ̀ràn náà níwájú rẹ̀, ẹnu mi ìbá sì kún fún àròyé.
5 And I would know the remedies which he would speak to me, and I would perceive what he would tell me.
Èmi ìbá sì mọ ọ̀rọ̀ tí òun ìbá fi dá mi lóhùn; òye ohun tí ìbáwí a sì yé mi.
6 Though he should come on me in [his] great strength, then he would not threaten me;
Yóò ha fi agbára ńlá bá mi wíjọ́ bí? Àgbẹdọ̀, kìkì pé òun yóò sì kíyèsi mi.
7 for truth and reproof are from him; and he would bring forth my judgment to an end.
Níbẹ̀ ni olódodo le è bá a wíjọ́, níwájú rẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi yóò sì bọ́ ni ọwọ́ onídàájọ́ mi láéláé.
8 For if I shall go first, and exist no longer, still what do I know [concerning] the latter end?
“Sì wò ó, bí èmi bá lọ sí iwájú, òun kò sí níbẹ̀, àti sí ẹ̀yìn, èmi kò sì rí òye rẹ̀.
9 When he wrought on the left hand, then I observed [it] not: his right hand shall encompass me but I shall not see [it].
Ni apá òsì bí ó bá ṣiṣẹ́ níbẹ̀, èmi kò rí i, ó fi ara rẹ̀ pamọ́ ni apá ọ̀tún, tí èmi kò le è rí i.
10 For he knows already my way; and he has tried me as gold.
Ṣùgbọ́n òun mọ ọ̀nà tí èmi ń tọ̀, nígbà tí ó bá dán mí wò, èmi yóò jáde bí wúrà.
11 And I will go forth according to his commandments, for I have kept his ways; and I shall not turn aside from his commandments,
Ẹsẹ̀ mí ti tẹ̀lé ipasẹ̀ ìrìn rẹ̀; ọ̀nà rẹ̀ ni mo ti kíyèsi, tí ń kò sì yà kúrò.
12 neither shall I transgress; but I have hid his words in my bosom.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kò padà sẹ́yìn kúrò nínú òfin ẹnu rẹ̀, èmi sì pa ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu rẹ̀ mọ́ ju oúnjẹ òòjọ́ lọ.
13 And if too he has thus judged, who is he that has contradicted, for he has both willed [a thing] and done it.
“Ṣùgbọ́n onínú kan ni òun, ta ni yóò sì yí i padà? Èyí tí ọkàn rẹ̀ sì ti fẹ́, èyí náà ní í ṣe.
Nítòótọ́ ohun tí a ti yàn fún mi ní í ṣe; ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ irú ohun bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó wà ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
15 Therefore am I troubled at him; and when I was reproved, I thought of him. Therefore let me take good heed before him: I will consider, and be afraid of him.
Nítorí náà ni ara kò ṣe rọ̀ mí níwájú rẹ̀; nígbà tí mo bá rò ó, ẹ̀rù a bà mi.
16 But the Lord has softened my heart, and the Almighty has troubled me.
Nítorí pé Ọlọ́run ti pá mi ní àyà, Olódùmarè sì ń dààmú mi.
17 For I knew not that darkness would come upon me, and thick darkness has covered [me] before my face.
Nítorí tí a kò tí ì ké mi kúrò níwájú òkùnkùn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò pa òkùnkùn biribiri mọ́ kúrò níwájú mi.
