Job 15
1 Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said,
१नंतर अलीफज तेमानीने उत्तर दिले आणि म्हणाला,
2 Will a wise man give for answer a [mere] breath of wisdom? and does he fill up the pain of his belly,
२“शहाणा मनुष्य, वायफळ शहाणपणाचे उत्तर देणार काय, आणि पूर्वे कडील वाऱ्याने स्वतःला भरेल का?
3 reasoning with improper sayings, and with words wherein is no profit?
३तो ज्यात काही लाभ नाही अशा निरुपयोगी कारणास्तव बोलेल काय किंवा जे सांगण्यास योग्य नाही असा उपदेश करेल काय?
4 Hast not you moreover cast off fear, and accomplished such words before the Lord?
४खरोखर, तू देवाचा आदर करणे सोडले आहेस, त्याच्या भक्तीत तू खीळ घालत आहेस.
5 You are guilty by the words of your mouth, neither have you discerned the words of the mighty.
५तुझे पाप तुझ्या मुखाला बोलण्यास शिकविते, तू तुझ्यासाठी अधर्माची जीभ निवडली आहे.
6 Let your own mouth, and not me, reprove you: and your lips shall testify against you.
६मी नव्हे, तुझेच स्वमुख तुला दोषी मानत आहे. खरोखर, तुझे स्वत: चेच ओठ तुझ्याविरुध्द साक्ष देतात
7 What! are you the first man that was born? or were you established before the hills?
७तूच प्रथम मनुष्य असा जन्माला आलास काय? टेकड्या निर्माण व्हायच्या आधीच तू जन्मलास का?
8 Or have you heard the ordinance of the Lord? or has God used you as [his] counsellor? and has wisdom come [only] to you?
८तू देवाच्या गुप्त मसलती ऐकल्यास का? केवळ तूच एक शहाणा मनुष्य आहेस असे तुला वाटते का?
9 For what know you, that, we know not? or what understand you, which we do not also?
९आम्हास समजत नाही असे तुला काय माहीती आहे? आम्हास अवगत नाही असे काय तुला माहीत आहे?
10 Truly among us [are] both the old and very aged man, more advanced in days than your father.
१०केस पांढरे झालेले लोक आणि वृध्द आमच्याशी सहमत आहेत. होय, तुझ्या वडिलांपेक्षा वृध्द असलेले लोक आमच्यात आहेत.
11 You have been scourged for [but] few of your sins: you have spoken haughtily [and] extravagantly.
११देवाने केलेले सांत्वन आणि तुजशी केलेली सौम्य भाषण तुला तुच्छ वाटतात काय?
12 What has your heart dared? or what have your eyes [aimed at],
१२तुझे मन तुला का मार्ग भ्रष्ट करीत आहे? तू डोळे का फिरवितोस,
13 that you have vented [your] rage before the Lord, and delivered such words from [your] mouth?
१३तू असा तुझा आत्त्मा देवाच्या विरुध्द का फिरवतोस आणि तुझ्या तोंडा वाटे असे शब्द का येतात.
14 For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? or, [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?
१४मनुष्य तो काय, जो निष्कलंक असेल? स्त्री पासून जन्मलेला मनुष्य तो निष्पाप कसा असणार?
15 Forasmuch as he trusts not his saints; and the heaven is not pure before him.
१५पहा, देवाच्या नजरेत आकाशही स्वच्छ नाही, खरोखर, देव त्याच्या पवित्र जनांचाही विश्वास करत नाही.
16 Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.
१६असा मनुष्य जो अधर्म पाण्यासारख्या पितो, अशुद्ध आणि अप्रामाणिक असा मनुष्य तो काय?
17 But I will tell you, listen to me; I will tell you now what I have seen;
१७माझे ऐक, मी तुला समजावून सांगतो, मी पाहिलेल्या गोष्टी तुम्हास सांगतो.
18 things wise men say, and their fathers have not hidden.
१८विद्वानांनी ज्या गोष्टी मला सांगितल्या, त्या मी तुला सांगतो. विद्वानाच्या पूर्वजांनी त्यांना या गोष्टी सांगितल्या. त्यांनी माझ्यापासून कुठलीही गुप्त गोष्ट लपवून ठेवली नाही.
19 To them alone the earth was given, and no stranger came upon them.
१९ती भूमी त्याच्या पूर्वजांना दिलेली होती, ज्यात एकटेच राहत होते, आणि त्या मधून कोणी परदेशी कधीही जाऊ शकत नव्हते.
20 All the life of the ungodly [is spent] in care, and the years granted to the oppressor are numbered.
२०दुष्ट मनुष्याचे सर्व दिवस वेदनात फिरवले जातात, जुलम्याचे जीवनाची वर्ष यातना भोगण्यासाठीच असतात.
21 And his terror is in his ears: just when he seems to be at peace, his overthrow will come.
२१भीतीचा आवाज त्याच्या कानात आहे, जेव्हा तो समृद्धीत असेल, नाश करणारा त्याच्यावर येईल.
22 Let him not trust that he shall return from darkness, for he has been already made over to the power of the sword.
२२अंधारातून बाहेर येण्याची तो खात्री करत नाही, त्याच्याकरिता तलवार वाट पाहत आहे.
23 And he has been appointed to be food for vultures; and he knows within himself that he is doomed to be a carcass: and a dark day shall carry him away as with a whirlwind.
२३ते कुठे आहे? असे म्हणत तो भाकरीसाठी इकडे तिकडे भटकतो, अंधकाराचा दिवस हाताशी आहे हे तो जाणतो.
24 Distress also and anguish shall come upon him: he shall fall as a captain in the first rank.
२४संकटे आणि दु: ख त्यास भित्रा बनवतात, हाल करण्यासाठी तयार असलेल्या राजा प्रमाणे ते त्याच्या विरूद्ध यश पावतात.
25 For he has lifted his hands against the Lord, and he has hardened his neck against the Almighty Lord.
२५कारण त्याने देवाच्या विरूद्ध त्याचा हात उगारला आहे, आणि सर्वशक्तिमान देवाच्या विरूद्ध तो गर्वाने वागत आहे.
26 And he has run against him with insolence, on the thickness of the back of his shield.
२६हा दुष्ट मनुष्य ताठ मानेन, जड उंच वाटे असलेली ढाल घेऊन देवाकडे धावतो,
27 For he has covered his face with his fat, and made layers of fat upon his thighs.
२७त्याचा चेहरा त्याने आपल्या चारबीने जरी झाकून घेतला आणि आपली चरबी त्याने कंबरेत साठवली,
28 And let him lodge in desolate cities, and enter into houses without inhabitant: and what they have prepared, others shall carry away.
२८आणि उद्वस्त शहरात राहतो, ज्या घरात माणसे राहतात, आणि आत्ता ते मातीचे ढीग होण्यास तयार आहे.
29 Neither shall he at all grow rich, nor shall his substance remain: he shall not cast a shadow upon the earth.
२९तरी तो श्रीमंत होणार नाही, त्याची संपती पण टिकणार नाही, त्याची सावली पण त्यास सोडून जाईल.
30 Neither shall he in any wise escape the darkness: let the wind blast his blossom, and let his flower fall off.
३०त्याची काळोखापासून सुटका नाही, आग्नीने त्याच्या फांद्या सुकतील, देवाच्या मुख श्वासाने तो दूर जाईल.
31 Let him not think that he shall endure; for his end shall be vanity.
३१निरुपयोगी गोष्टींवर त्याने विश्वास ठेवून स्वत: चीच फसवणूक करून घेऊ नये. निरउपयोगीता त्याचे बक्षीस होईल.
32 His harvest shall perish before the time, and his branch shall not flourish.
३२आयुष्य संपण्याच्या आधीच दुष्ट मनुष्य म्हातारा आणि शुष्क झालेला असेल. तो पुन्हा कधीही हिरव्या न होणाऱ्या फांदीसारखा असेल.
33 And let him be gathered as the unripe grape before the time, and let him fall as the blossom of the olive.
३३न पिकलेले द्राक्ष जसे अकाली गळून पडतात त्या वेलीसारखा तो होईल, जैतून झाडाच्या फुला प्रमाणे त्याची फुले गळतील.
34 For death is the witness of an ungodly man, and fire shall burn the houses of them that receive gifts.
३४अधर्म्याचे घराणे फळ द्रूप होणार नाही लाचलुचूपताचे तंबू आगीत भस्मसात होतात.
35 And he shall conceive sorrows, and his end shall be vanity, and his belly shall bear deceit.
३५ते अपकाराची गर्भधारणा करतात आणि अधर्मास जन्म देतात, त्यांच्या उदरात लबाडीचा गर्भ आहे.”
