Job 14
1 For a mortal born of a woman [is] short lived, and full of wrath.
Huta kah a sak hlang he a khohnin toi tih khoponah khaw hah.
2 Or he falls like a flower that has bloomed; and he departs like a shadow, and can’t continue.
Rhaipai bangla phuelh tih a oh uh. Khokhawn bangla yong tih pai voel pawh.
3 Hast you not taken account even of him, and caused him to enter into judgment before you?
Te soah ngawn tah na mik tueng tih kai he na taengkah laitloeknah dongla na khuen.
4 For who shall be pure from uncleanness? not even one;
Rhalawt lamloh a cuem la aka khueh te unim? Pakhat pataeng om pawh.
5 if even his life should be [but] one day upon the earth: and his months are numbered by him: you have appointed [him] for a time, and he shall by no means exceed [it].
A khohnin neh a hla taenah khaw namah taengah hangdang. A oltlueh te a oltlueh bangla na saii tih poe thai pawh.
6 Depart from him, that he may be quiet, and take pleasure in his life, [though] as a hireling.
Anih lamloh vawl mangthong lamtah amah hnin at kutloh bangla a ngaingaih hil toeng saeh.
7 For there is hope for a tree, even if it should be cut down, [that] it shall blossom again, and its branch shall not fail.
Thing ham tah a vung akhaw ngaiuepnah om pueng. Te dongah koep mikhing vetih a dawn khaw ngoeng mahpawh.
8 For though its root should grow old in the earth, and its stem die in the rock;
Diklai khuiah a yung patong mai tih laipi khuiah a ngo duek cakhaw,
9 it will blossom from the scent of water, and will produce a crop, as one newly planted.
tui bo ah duei vetih thinghloe bangla a pae cawn ni.
10 But a man that has died is utterly gone; and when a mortal has fallen, he is no more.
Tedae hlang tah duek tih rhaa uh coeng. Hlang he a pal phoeiah tah melam a om.
11 For the sea wastes in [length of] time, and a river fails and is dried up.
Tuitunli lamkah tui khaw khawk dae tuiva loh a khah vaengah tah kak.
12 And man that has lain down [in death] shall certainly not rise again till the heaven be dissolved, and they shall not awake from their sleep.
Hlang khaw yalh tih thoo voel pawh. Vaan a om pawt due khaw haenghang pawh. Amih te ih kung lamloh haenghang uh mahpawh.
13 For oh that you had kept me in the grave, and had hidden me until your wrath should cease, and you should set me a time in which you would remember me! (Sheol h7585)
Unim saelkhui ah a paek lah ve? Kai he nan khoem lah vetih na thintoek a mael duela kai nan thuh lah mako. Kai hamla oltlueh na khueh vetih kai nan poek mako. (Sheol h7585)
14 For if a man should die, shall he live [again], having accomplished the days of his life? I will wait till I exist again?
Hlang he duek koinih hing venim? Kamah kah caempuei hnin boeih he ka thovaelnah a pawk hil ka lamtawn bitni.
15 Then shall you call, and I will listen to you: but do not you reject the work of your hands.
Nan khue vaengah kai loh nang te ka doo bitni. Na kut dongkah bibi dongah na moo bitni.
16 But you have numbered my devices: and not one of my sins shall escape you?
Ka khokan he na tae pawn vetih ka tholhnah khaw na dawn mahpawh.
17 An you have sealed up my transgressions in a bag, and marked if I have been guilty of any transgression unawares.
Ka boekoek hnocun khuiah catui a hnah thil tih kai kathaesainah na dah thil bitni.
18 And verily a mountain falling will utterly be destroyed, and a rock shall be worn out of its place.
Tedae Tlang khaw cungku tih moelh. Lungpang pataeng a hmuen lamloh thoeih.
19 The waters wear the stones, and waters falling headlong [overflow] a heap of the earth: and you destroy the hope of man.
Lungto khaw tui loh a hoh tih a kongnawt loh diklai laipi a yo. Te dongah hlanghing kah ngaiuepnah na pal sak.
20 You drive him to an end, and he is gone: you set your face against him, and send him away;
Anih te a yoeyah la na khulae tih a hmai a tal la a van daengah anih te na tueih.
21 and though his children be multiplied, he knows [it] not; and if they be few, he is not aware.
A ca rhoek a thangpom uh dae a ming moenih. Muei uh cakhaw amih a yakming moenih.
22 But his flesh is in pain, and his soul mourns.
Tedae a pumsa tah a taengah tih thak a khoeih tih a hinglu khaw amah hamla nguekcoi,” a ti.
