< Job 11 >

1 Then Sophar the Minaean answered and said,
Naamathi Zophar loh a doo tih,
2 He that speaks much, should also hear on the other side: or does the fluent speaker think himself to be righteous? blessed [is] the short lived offspring of woman.
“Ol cungkuem te a doo moenih a? Hlang he a hmuilai ngawn tah tang dae ta.
3 Be not a speaker of many words; for is there none to answer you?
Na olsai te hlang loh ngam vetih na tamdaeng vaengah a hmaithae mahpawt nim?
4 For say not, I am pure in my works, and blameless before him.
Te vaengah, “Ka rhingtuknah he cil tih na mikhmuh ah a caih la ka om,” na ti.
5 But oh that the Lord would speak to you, and open his lips to you!
Nang taengah aka thui la Pathen loh unim dawk a paek tih a hmuilai ong koinih.
6 Then shall he declare to you the power of wisdom; for it shall be double of that which is with you: and then shall you know, that a just recompence of your sins has come to you from the Lord.
Lungming cueihnah he rhaepnit a lo dongah cueihnah olhuep te nang taengah a thui pawn ko. Namah kathaesainah lamloh Pathen loh nang n'hnilh te ming.
7 Will you find out the traces of the Lord? or have you come to the end [of that] which the Almighty has made?
Pathen kah khenah na hmuh tih Tlungthang kah a khuetnah hil na hmuh a?
8 Heaven [is] high; and what will you do? and there are deeper things than those in hell; what do you know? (Sheol h7585)
Vaan la a sang te metlam na saii eh? Saelkhui lakah a dung te metlam na ming eh? (Sheol h7585)
9 Or longer than the measure of the earth, or the breadth of the sea.
A himbaidok loh diklai lakah a puet tih tuitunli lakah dangka ngai.
10 And if he should overthrow all things, who will say to him, What have you done?
A hil tih a tlaeng tih a tingtun sak phoeiah tah ulong anih a mael sak.
11 For he knows the works of transgressors; and when he sees wickedness, he will not overlook [it].
Amah loh a poeyoek hlang rhoek khaw a ming ngawn dae boethae a hmuh vaengah yakming pawh.
12 But man vainly buoys himself up with words; and a mortal born of woman [is] like an ass in the desert.
Tedae tuihong hlang loh hloih koinih kohong marhang neh laak te hlang la a sak khaming.
13 For if you have made your heart pure, and lift up [your] hands towards him;
Na lungbuei na cikngae tih a taengla na kut na phuel koinih,
14 if there is any iniquity in your hands, put if far from you, and let not unrighteousness lodge in your habitation.
Na kut dongkah boethae te na lakhla tak tih na dap ah dumlai na khueh pawt atah,
15 For thus shall your countenance shine again, as pure water; and you shall dive yourself of uncleanness, and shall not fear.
A lolhmaih kolla na maelhmai na ludoeng van bitni. Na om vaengah khaw tluektluek na long vetih na rhih om mahpawh.
16 And you shall forget trouble, as a wave that has passed by; and you shall not be scared.
Nang ham tah thakthaenah te na hnilh vetih tui aka long voelh bangla na poek bitni.
17 And your prayer [shall be] as the morning star, and life shall arise to you [as] from the noonday.
Na khosak khaw khothun lakah sae vetih, a hmuep khaw mincang bangla om ni.
18 And you shall be confident, because you have hope; and peace shall dawn to you from out of anxiety and care.
Ngaiuepnah a om dongah na pangtung vetih ngaikhuek la na too phoeiah na yalh bitni.
19 For you shall be at ease, and there shall be no one to fight against you; and many shall charge, and make supplication to you.
Na kol vaengah na lakueng neh na maelhmai muep thae voel mahpawh.
20 But safety shall fail them; for their hope is destruction, and the eyes of the ungodly shall waste away.
Tedae halang kah mik tah kha vetih thuhaelnah khaw amih lamloh bing ni, a ngaiuepnah khaw hinglu polpainah la om ni,” a ti nah.
