Jeremias 9
1 Who will give water to my head, and a fountain of tears to my eyes? then would I weep for this my people day and night, [even] for the slain of the daughter of my people.
என் தலை தண்ணீரூற்றாகவும், என் கண்கள் கண்ணீர் ஊற்றாகவும் இருக்குமானால், என் மக்களிள் கொலையுண்டவர்களுக்காக நான் இரவும், பகலும் அழுவேனே!
2 Who would give me a most distant lodge in the wilderness, that I might leave my people, and depart from them? for they all commit adultery, an assembly of treacherous men.
பாலைவனத்தில் பிரயாணிகளுக்கான தங்குமிடம் ஒன்று எனக்கு இருக்குமானால், நான் என் மக்களைவிட்டு அப்பால் போய்விடுவேனே! ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் யாவரும் விபசாரக்காரரும், யெகோவாவுக்கு உண்மையற்ற மக்கள் கூட்டமாகவும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
3 And they have bent their tongue like a bow: falsehood and not faithfulness has prevailed upon the earth; for they have gone on from evil to evil, and have not known me, says the Lord.
“அவர்கள் பொய்களை எய்வதற்குத் தங்கள் நாவுகளை வில்லைப்போல் ஆயத்தமாக்குகிறார்கள். நாட்டில் அவர்கள் வெற்றியடைந்தது உண்மையினால் அல்ல. அவர்கள் ஒரு பாவத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு பாவத்திற்குப் போய்க்கொண்டே இருக்கிறார்கள். என்னையோ அவர்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
4 Beware you each of his neighbor, and trust you not in your brethren: for every one will surely supplant, and every friend will walk craftily.
மேலும் யெகோவா, நீங்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் அடுத்திருப்பவரைக் குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள். ஒரு சகோதரனையும் நம்பவேண்டாம். ஏனென்றால் ஒவ்வொரு சகோதரனும் ஏமாற்றுக்காரனாய் இருக்கிறான். ஒவ்வொரு சிநேகிதனும் தூற்றித் திரிகிறவனாயிருக்கிறான்.
5 Every one will mock his friend; they will not speak truth: their tongue has learned to speak falsehoods; they have committed iniquity, they ceased not, so as to return.
சிநேகிதன் சிநேகிதனை ஏமாற்றுகிறான். ஒருவனாவது உண்மை பேசுவதில்லை. அவர்கள் தங்கள் நாவுக்குப் பொய்பேசப் போதித்திருக்கிறார்கள். பாவம் செய்வதினால் தங்களைத் தாங்களே களைப்படையச் செய்கிறார்கள்.
6 [There is] usury upon usury, and deceit upon deceit: they would not know me, says the Lord.
எரேமியாவே, நீ ஏமாற்றத்தின் மத்தியில் வாழ்கிறாய். இவர்கள் தங்கள் ஏமாற்றும் தன்மையில் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள மறுக்கிறார்கள் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord, Behold, I will try them with fire, and prove them; for I will do [thus] because of the wickedness of the daughter of my people.
அதனால், சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “பாருங்கள்; நான் சுத்திகரித்துச் சோதிப்பேன். என் மக்களின் பாவத்திற்காக இதைவிட நான் வேறென்ன செய்யலாம்?
8 Their tongue is a wounding arrow; the words of their mouth are deceitful: [one] speaks peaceably to his neighbor, but in himself retains enmity.
அவர்களின் நாவு ஒரு கொல்லும் அம்பாயிருக்கிறது. அது வஞ்சனையாய்ப் பேசுகிறது. ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன்தன் வாயினால் அயலானுடன் சிநேகமாய்ப் பேசுகிறான். ஆனால் உள்ளத்திலோ அவனுக்குப் பொறியை வைத்திருக்கிறான்.
9 Shall I not visit for these things? says the Lord: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a people as this?
இவைகளுக்காக நான் அவர்களைத் தண்டிக்க வேண்டாமோ? அத்தகைய தேசத்தாரிடம் நான் எனக்காகப் பழிவாங்க வேண்டாமோ?” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
10 Take up a lamentation for the mountains, and a mournful dirge for the paths of the wilderness, for they are desolate for lack of men; they heard not the sound of life from the birds of the sky, nor the cattle: they were amazed, they are gone.
நான் மலைகளுக்காகக் கதறி அழுவேன். காடுகளிலுள்ள மேய்ச்சலிடங்களுக்காகப் புலம்புவேன், அவை போக்கும் வரத்தும் இன்றி பாழாய்க் கிடக்கின்றன. மந்தைகளின் கதறுதல் கேட்கப்படுவதில்லை. ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளும் பறந்துவிட்டன. மிருகங்களும் ஓடிப்போய் விட்டனவே.
11 And I will remove the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and make it a dwelling-place of dragons; and I will utterly waste the cities of Juda, so that they shall not be inhabited.
யெகோவா சொல்கிறதாவது: “நான் எருசலேமை இடிபாடுகளின் குவியலாகவும், நரிகளின் தங்குமிடமாகவும் மாற்றுவேன். யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களை ஒருவனும் வசிக்க முடியாதவாறு பாழாக்குவேன்.”
12 Who is the wise man, that he may understand this? and he that has the word of the mouth of the Lord [addressed] to him, let him tell you therefore the land has been destroyed, has been ravaged by fire like a desert, so that no one passes through it.
இதை விளங்கிக்கொள்ளத்தக்க ஞானமுள்ளவன் யார்? யாருக்கு யெகோவாவினால் அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது? யாரால் அதை விளக்கிச் சொல்லமுடியும்? ஏன் இந்த நாடு ஒருவரும் கடந்துசெல்ல முடியாதபடி, அழிக்கப்பட்டு பாலைவனத்தைப்போல் பாழாகிக் கிடக்கிறது.
13 And the Lord said to me, Because they have forsaken my law, which I set before them, and have not listened to my voice;
ஏனெனில், “நான் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக வைத்த என் சட்டத்தை அவர்கள் கைவிட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் எனக்கு கீழ்ப்படியவோ அல்லது எனது சட்டத்தைப் பின்பற்றவோ இல்லை.
14 but went after the lusts of their evil heart, and after the idols which their fathers taught them [to worship]:
அவர்கள் தங்கள் இருதயங்களின் பிடிவாதத்தின்படி நடந்து, தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் போதித்தபடி பாகால்களைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள்” என்றார்.
15 therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them with trouble and will cause them to drink water of gall:
ஆகையால் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “நான் இந்த மக்களைக் கசப்பான உணவை சாப்பிடவும், நஞ்சு கலந்த தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கவும் பண்ணுவேன்.
16 and I will scatter them among the nations, to them whom neither they nor their fathers knew; and I will send a sword upon them, until I have consumed them with it.
அவர்களோ அவர்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களோ அறியாத தேசத்தாரின் மத்தியில் அவர்களைச் சிதறடிப்பேன். நான் அவர்களை முழுவதும் அழித்துத் தீருமட்டும் அவர்களை வாளுடன் துரத்துவேன்.”
17 Thus says the Lord, Call you the mourning women, and let them come; and send to the wise women, and let them utter their voice;
சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “இப்பொழுதும் யோசித்துப் பாருங்கள், ஒப்பாரி வைக்கும் பெண்களை அழைத்திடுங்கள்; அவர்களில் திறமையானவர்களுக்கு ஆளனுப்புங்கள்.
18 and let them take up a lamentation for you, and let your eyes pour down tears, and your eyelids drop water.
அவர்கள் விரைவாக வந்து, எங்களுக்காக ஒப்பாரி வைக்கட்டும். எங்கள் கண்களில் கண்ணீர் நிரம்பி வழிந்து, எங்கள் இமைகளிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் தாரைகள் ஓடும்வரைக்கும் எங்களுக்காகப் புலம்பட்டும்.”
19 For a voice of lamentation has been heard in Sion, How are we become wretched! we are greatly ashamed, for we have forsaken the land, and have abandoned our tabernacles!
சீயோனிலிருந்து ஒரு புலம்பல் சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது: “நாங்கள் எவ்வளவாய் அழிந்து போனோம். எங்கள் வெட்கம் எவ்வளவு பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது. எங்கள் வீடுகள் பாழாய்க் கிடப்பதால், எங்கள் நாட்டைவிட்டு நாங்கள் புறப்படவேண்டும்” என்கிறார்கள்.
20 Hear now, you women, the word of God, and let your ears receive the words of his mouth, and teach your daughters lamentation, and [every] woman her neighbor a dirge.
பெண்களே, இப்பொழுது யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள். அவருடைய வாயின் வார்த்தைகளுக்கு உங்கள் செவிகளைத் திறவுங்கள். எப்படி ஒப்பாரி வைப்பதென உங்கள் மகள்களுக்கு கற்றுக்கொடுங்கள். ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஒரு புலம்பலைக் கற்றுக்கொடுங்கள்.
21 For death has come up through your windows, it has entered into our land, to destroy the infants without, and the young men from the streets.
மரணம் ஜன்னல் வழியே ஏறி எங்கள் அரண்களுக்குள் புகுந்து விட்டது. வீதிகளிலிருக்கும் பிள்ளைகளையும், பொதுச் சதுக்கங்களில் நிற்கும் வாலிபரையும் வெட்டி வீழ்த்திவிட்டது.
22 And the carcases of the men shall be for an example on the face of the field of your land, like grass after the mower, and there shall be none to gather [them].
யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறது இதுவே என்று சொல்: மனிதரின் சடலங்கள் திறந்த வெளியிலுள்ள குப்பையைப்போல் கிடக்கும். அவைகள் அறுவடை செய்கிறவனுக்குப் பின்னால், பொறுக்குவதற்கு ஒருவனுமில்லாமல் விழுந்து கிடக்கும் தானியக் கதிரைப்போல் கிடக்கும் என்றார்.
23 Thus says the Lord, Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, and let not the strong man boast in his strength, and let not the rich man boast in his wealth;
யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “அறிவாளி தன் ஞானத்தைக் குறித்துப் பெருமைப்படாமல் இருக்கட்டும். பலசாலி தன் பலத்தைக் குறித்துப் பெருமைப்படாமல் இருக்கட்டும். செல்வந்தன் தன் செல்வத்தைக் குறித்துப் பெருமைப்படாமல் இருக்கட்டும்.
24 but let him that boasts boast in this, the understanding and knowing that I am the Lord that exercise mercy, and judgment, and righteousness, upon the earth; for in these things is my pleasure, says the Lord.
ஆனால் பெருமை பாராட்டுபவன் இதைக் குறித்தே பெருமை பாராட்டட்டும்: அது, ஒருவன் என்னை அறிந்து, விளங்கிக்கொண்டதாலும், நானே பூமியில் தயவும் நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்கிற யெகோவா என்பதை அறிந்திருக்கிறதைக் குறித்துமே அவன் பெருமை பாராட்டட்டும். அவைகளிலேயே நான் மகிழ்கிறேன்” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
25 Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when I will visit upon all the circumcised their uncircumcision;
“மாம்சத்தில் மாத்திரம் விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யப்பட்ட எல்லோரையும் தண்டிக்கும் நாட்கள் வருகின்றன” என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
26 on Egypt, and on Idumea, and on Edom, and on the children of Ammon, and on the children of Moab, and on every one that shaves his face round about, [even] them that dwell in the wilderness; for all the Gentiles are uncircumcised in flesh, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised [in] their hearts.
எகிப்து, யூதா, ஏதோம், அம்மோன், மோவாப் ஆகிய தேசங்களையும், தூர இடத்திலுள்ள பாலைவனங்களில் குடியிருக்கும் யாவரையும் நான் தண்டிக்கும் நாட்கள் வரும். ஏனெனில் இந்த தேசத்தார் யாவரும் உண்மையாக விருத்தசேதனம் பெறாதவர்கள். அதுபோல் முழு இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பமும் இருதயத்தில் விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யப்படாதவர்கள்.
