Jeremias 6
1 Strengthen yourselves, you children of Benjamin, [to flee] out of the midst of Jerusalem, and sound an alarm with the trumpet in Thecue, and set up a signal over Baethacharma: for evil threatens from the north, and a great destruction is coming.
१बन्यामीनच्या लोकांनो, जीव वाचविण्यासाठी पळा. यरूशलेमपासून दूर पळा. तकोवामध्ये तुतारी फुंका. बेथ-हक्करेमवर धोक्याचा इशारा देणारे निशाण उभारा. हे सर्व करा कारण उत्तरेकडून अरिष्ट येत आहे. भयानक नाश तुमच्याकडे येत आहे.
2 And [your] pride, O daughter of Sion, shall be taken away.
२सियोनेची कन्या, जी सुंदर आणि नाजूक अशी आहे, तिचा मी नाश करणार आहे.
3 The shepherds and their flocks shall come to her; and they shall pitch [their] tents against her round about, and shall feed [their flocks] each with his hand.
३मेंढपाळ आणि त्यांचे कळप तिच्याकडे जातील. ते तिच्या सर्व बाजूंना तंबू ठोकतील. प्रत्येक मनुष्य स्वत: च्या हाताने कळपाची काळजी घेतील.
4 Prepare yourselves for war against her; rise up, and let us go up against her at noon. Woe to us! for the day has gone down, for the shadows of the day fail.
४“परमेश्वराच्या नावात तिच्यावर हल्ला करा. उठा! आपण दुपारी हल्ला करु. हे किती वाईट आहे की दिवस मावळत आहे आणि संध्याछाया लांबत आहेत.
5 Rise, and let us go up against her by night, and destroy her foundations.
५तर आपण रात्रीच तिच्यावर हल्ला करु या व तिच्या भक्कम तटबंदीचा नाश करु या.”
6 For thus says the Lord, Hew down her trees, array a numerous force against Jerusalem. O false city; [there is] all oppression in her.
६कारण सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, शक्तीमान परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “झाडे कापा आणि यरूशलेमविरूद्ध मोर्चा बांधा. या नगरीला शिक्षा व्हावीच, कारण या नगरीच्या आत जुलुमाशिवाय काहीही नाही.
7 As a cistern cools water, so her wickedness cools her, ungodliness and misery shall be heard in her, [as] continually before her.
७जशी विहीर आपले पाणी ताजे ठेवते, तशीच ही नगरी आपला दुष्टपणा ताजा ठेवते. तिच्यामध्ये लूटमार व हिंसाचार हे ऐकू येतात. पीडा आणि दु: ख सदोदीत माझ्या समोर आहे.
8 You shall be chastened, O Jerusalem, with pain and the scourge, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you a desert land, which shall not be inhabited.
८यरूशलेम, धोक्याचा इशारा ऐक. जर तू ऐकले नाहीस तर मी तुझ्याकडे पाठ फिरवीन, आणि तुला ओसाड असे करीन, जेथे कोणीही राहू शकणार नाही.”
9 For thus says the Lord, Glean, glean thoroughly as a vine the remnant of Israel: turn back [your hands] as a grape-gatherer to his basket.
९सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “ते इस्राएलाचे शेष उरलेल्या द्राक्षांसारखे वेचून काढतील, तू आपला हात द्राक्षे खुडणाऱ्याप्रमाणे डाहाळ्यातून फिरव.”
10 To whom shall I speak, and testify, that he may listen? behold, your ears are uncircumcised, and they shall not be able to hear: behold, the word of the Lord is become to them a reproach, they will not at all desire it.
१०मी कोणाला घोषीत करू आणि चेतावणी देऊ, जेणेकरून ते ऐकतील? पाहा, त्यांचा कान बेसुंता आहे म्हणून त्यांना ऐकू येत नाही. पाहा, परमेश्वराचे वचन त्यांची चूक दुरुस्त करण्यासाठी त्यांच्या जवळ आले आहे, पण त्यांना ते नको आहे.
11 And I allowed my wrath to come to full, yet I kept [it] in, and did not utterly destroy them: I will pour it out on the children without, and on the assembly of young men together: for man and woman shall be taken together, the old man with him that is full of days.
११म्हणून मी परमेश्वराच्या रागाने भरलो आहे. “तो आतल्या आत दाबून धरण्याचा मला आता कंटाळा आला आहे. रस्त्यावर खेळणाऱ्या मुलांवर, एकत्र जमलेल्या तरुणांवर परमेश्वराचा राग ओतणार आहे. पुरुष व त्याची पत्नी असे दोघही, तसेच सर्व म्हातारे पकडले जातील.
12 And their houses shall be turned to others, [with] their fields and their wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of this land, says the Lord.
१२त्यांची घरे दुसऱ्यांना दिली जातील त्यांची शेते व त्यांच्या स्त्रिया दुसऱ्यांना दिल्या जातील. मी माझा हात उगारून देशातील रहिवाश्यांवर हल्ला करीन,” असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
13 For from the least of them even to the greatest they have all committed iniquity; from the priest even to the false prophet they have all wrought falsely.
१३“कारण त्यांच्यातील लहानांपासून तर मोठ्यांपर्यंत ते सर्व अप्रामाणिक मिळकतीचा लोभ धरतात. भविष्यवाद्यांपासून ते याजकापर्यंत, त्यांच्यातील प्रत्येकजण फसवे काम करतो.
14 And they healed the breach of my people [imperfectly], making light [of it], and saying, Peace, peace, and where is peace?
१४आणि शांती नसता, शांती, शांती, असे म्हणून त्यांनी माझ्या लोकांची जखम वरवर बरी केली आहे.
15 They were ashamed because they failed; yet they were not ashamed as those who are [truly] ashamed, and they knew not their own disgrace: therefore shall they [utterly] fall when they do fall, and in the time of visitation shall they perish, said the Lord.
१५त्यांनी केलेल्या दुष्कृत्यांमुळे ते लाजले का? त्यांना काही लाज वाटली नाही आणि त्यांनी पण त्यांना अजिबात लाज वाटत नाही. त्यांना कोणत्याही अपमानास्पद वागणूकीचा अनुभव घेतला नाही. यास्तव मी ज्यावेळी त्यांना शिक्षा करीन तेव्हा ते पडणाऱ्यांबरोबर पडतील. ते उध्वस्त केले जातील.” परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.
16 Thus says the Lord, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths of the Lord; and see what is the good way, and walk in it, and you shall find purification for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [in them].
१६परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो: “चौकात उभे राहा आणि पाहा. जुना रस्ता कोणता ते विचारा. चांगल्या रस्त्याची चौकशी करा, नंतर त्याच चाला आणि तुमच्या जीवा करता विसाव्याची जागा शोधा.” पण तुम्ही लोक म्हणाला, आम्ही जाणार नाही.
17 I have set watchmen over you, [saying], Hear you the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hear [it].
१७रणशिंगाचा आवाज ऐकायला तुमच्यावर मी रखवालदार नियूक्त केले. पण ते म्हणाले, आम्ही ऐकणार नाही.
18 Therefore have the nations heard, and they that feed their flocks.
१८यास्तव राष्ट्रांनो, ऐका! पाहा, त्यांच्यासोबत काय होईल, याचे तुम्ही साक्षीदार आहात.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evils upon this people, [even] the fruit of their rebellions; for they have not heeded my words, and they have rejected my law.
१९हे पृथ्वी, ऐक! पाहा, या लोकांवर मी अनर्थ आणणार आहे, म्हणजे त्यांच्याच विचारांचे फळ त्यांच्यावर आणीन. कारण त्यांनी माझ्या वचनांकडे दुर्लक्ष केलेच, पण ह्याव्यतीरिक्त ते धिक्कारले आहे.
20 Therefore do you bring me frankincense from Saba, and cinnamon from a land afar off? your whole burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices have not been pleasant to me.
२०परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “शेबाहून धूप आणि दूरवरच्या देशातून गोड सुगंध माझ्या काय कामाचा? तुमची होमार्पणे आणि यज्ञ मला मान्य नाहीत.”
21 Therefore thus says the Lord, Behold, I [will] bring weakness upon this people, and the fathers and sons shall be weak together; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.
२१यास्तव परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो: “मी या लोकांविरूद्ध अडखळणे ठेवीन. त्यावर वडील व मुले अडखळून पडतील. राहणारे आणि शेजारी हे नष्ट होतील.”
22 Thus says the Lord, Behold, a people comes from the north, and nations shall be stirred up from the end of the earth.
२२परमेश्वर पुढे असे म्हणतो: “उत्तरेकडून लोक येत आहे. पृथ्वीवरच्या अतीदूरच्या ठिकाणाहून मोठे राष्ट्र येत आहे.
23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear; [the people] is fierce, and will have no mercy; their voice is as the roaring sea; they shall array themselves for war against you as fire on horses and chariots, O daughter of Sion.
२३ते धनुष्य आणि भाला उचलतील. ते क्रूर आहेत आणि ते दया करीत नाही. त्यांचा आवाज समुद्राच्या गर्जने सारखा आहे. आणि हे सियोन कन्ये, लढाईसाठी सिद्ध झालेल्या पुरूषांप्रमाणे विशिष्ट रचना करूण ते घोड्यांवरून स्वारी करतात.”
24 We have heard the report of them: our hands are weakened: anguish has seized us, the pangs as of a woman in travail.
२४त्यांच्याबद्दल आम्ही बातमी ऐकली आहे. दुःखात आमचे हात कोलमडले आहेत. प्रसूती होणाऱ्या स्त्रीप्रमाणे आमची स्थिती झाली आहे.
25 Go not forth into the field, and walk not in the ways; for the sword of the enemy lingers round about.
२५बाहेर शेतात जाऊ नका आणि रस्त्यावर चालू नका. कारण शत्रूची तलवारी आणि धोका सगळीकडे आहे.
26 O daughter of my people, gird yourself with sackcloth: sprinkle [yourself] with ashes; make for yourself pitiable lamentation, [as] the mourning for a beloved [son]: for misery will come suddenly upon you.
२६माझ्या लोकांच्या कन्ये, शोकवस्त्रे घाल आणि राखेत लोळ, एकुलता एक मुलगा गेल्याप्रमाणे आकांत कर. कारण नाश करणारा अगदी एकाएक आपल्यावर येईल.
27 I have caused you to be tried among tried nations, and you shall know me when I have tried their way.
२७“यिर्मया, मी तुला पारखणारा असे केले आहे. म्हणजे तू त्यांच्या मार्ग तपासावा आणि पारखून पाहावा.
28 [They are] all disobedient, walking perversely: [they are] brass and iron; they are all corrupted.
२८ते सर्व लोक दुराग्रही आहेत. जे दुसऱ्यांची निंदा करतात. ते सर्व कास्य व लोखंड आहेत, जे भ्रष्टपणे वागतात.
29 The bellows have failed from the fire, the lead has failed: the silversmith works at his trade in vain; their wickedness is not consumed.
२९भाता जळाला आहे, अग्नीतून शिसे जळून निघाले आहे, ते स्वत: ला व्यर्थच गाळीत राहतात, कारण जे दुष्ट ते काढून टाकलेले नाहीत.
30 Call you them reprobate silver, because the Lord has rejected them.
३०त्यांना ‘टाकाऊ चांदी’ असे म्हटले जाईल. कारण परमेश्वराने त्यांना नाकारले आहे.”
