< Jeremias 33 >
1 IN THE BEGINNING OF THE REIGN OF KING JOAKIM SON OF JOSIAS THERE CAME THIS WORD FROM THE LORD.
Bere a Yeremia da so da dua mu wɔ awɛmfo adiwo hɔ no, Awurade asɛm baa ne nkyɛn ne mprenu so se:
2 Thus said the Lord; Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and you shall declare to all the Jews, and to all that come to worship in the house of the Lord, all the words which I commanded you to speak to them; abate not one word.
“Sɛɛ na Awurade se, nea ɔbɔɔ asase, Awurade a ɔyɛe na ɔma egyinae, Awurade ne ne din:
3 Peradventure they will hear, and turn every one from his evil way: then I will cease from the evils which I purpose to do to them, because of their evil practices.
‘Frɛ me na megye wo so, na maka wo nsɛm akɛse ne nneɛma a ahintaw a wunnim.’
4 And you shall say, Thus said the Lord; If you will not listen to me, to walk in my statutes which I set before you,
Na nea Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn, ka de fa afi a ɛwɔ saa kuropɔn yi mu ne Yuda ahemfi ahorow a wɔabubu no ho, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wubenya nea wɔde besiw ntuano afasu ne afoa no ano,
5 to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you early in the morning; yes, I sent them, but you listened not to me;
wɔ wɔne Babiloniafo ɔko no mu. ‘Nnipa a mede mʼabufuw ne mʼabufuwhyew bekunkum wɔn no afunu bɛyɛ hɔ ma. Meyi mʼani afi saa kuropɔn yi so esiane nʼamumɔyɛ nyinaa nti.
6 then will I make this house as Selo, and I will make [this] city a curse to all the nations of all the earth.
“‘Nanso mede ahoɔden ne ayaresa bɛbrɛ no; mɛsa me nkurɔfo yare na mama wɔanya asomdwoe ne bammɔ a ɛdɔɔso.
7 And the priests, and the false prophets, and all the people heard Jeremias speaking these words in the house of the Lord.
Mɛsan de Yuda ne Israel afi nnommum mu aba na masan agye wɔn asi hɔ sɛ nea na wɔte dedaw no.
8 And it came to pass, when Jeremias had ceased speaking all that the Lord had ordered him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the false prophets and all the people took him, saying,
Mɛhohoro wɔn bɔne a wɔayɛ atia me no nyinaa, na mede wɔn atuatew ho bɔne nso akyɛ wɔn.
9 You shall surely die, because you have prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, This house shall be as Selo, and this city shall be made quite destitute of inhabitants. And all the people assembled against Jeremias in the house of the Lord.
Na saa kuropɔn yi bɛma me din ahyeta, ɛbɛma me anigye, ayeyi ne anuonyam wɔ asase so aman a wɔte nnepa a meyɛ ma no nyinaa mu; wobesuro na wɔn ho apopo wɔ yiyedi ne asomdwoe bebrebe a mede ma no nti.’
10 And the princes of Juda heard this word, and they went up out of the house of the king to the house of the Lord, and sat in the entrance of the new gate.
“Sɛɛ na Awurade se: ‘Woka fa saa beae yi ho se, “Ada mpan a nnipa anaasɛ mmoa nni so.” Nanso Yuda nkurow ne Yerusalem mmɔnten a ada mpan na nnipa anaa mmoa nni no, hɔ na wɔbɛsan ate bio,
11 Then the priests and the false prophets said to the princes and to all the people, The judgment of death [is due] to this man; because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.
Na mɛsan de asase no so nnepa a wɔwɔ hɔ dedaw no aba bio,’ Awurade, na ose.
12 Then Jeremias spoke to the princes, and to all the people, saying, The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city, all the words which you have heard.
“Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: ‘Ɛha yi a ada mpan a nnipa ne mmoa nni no; ne nkurow nyinaa so no, wobenya nguanhwɛfo adidibea ne nea wɔn nguankuw bɛhome.
13 And now amend your ways and your works, and listen to the voice of the Lord; and the Lord shall cease from the evils which he has pronounced against you.
Nkurow a ɛwɔ ɔman a ɛda bepɔw so no atɔe fam mmepɔw ase mu, Negeb, Benyamin mantam mu, nkuraa a atwa Yerusalem ho ahyia ne Yuda nkurow mu, nguankuw betwa mu bio wɔ nea ɔkan wɔn no nsa ase.’ Awurade, na waka.
14 And behold, I am in your hands; do to me as is expedient, and as it is best for you.
“‘Nna no reba,’ Awurade na ose, a mɛma adom bɔ a mehyɛɛ Israel ne Yudafi no aba mu.
15 But know for a certainty, that if you kill me, you bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon them that dwell in it; for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak in your ears all these words.
“‘Nna no mu ne saa bere no mɛma trenee Dubaa afefɛw afi Dawid ase; ɔbɛyɛ nea ɛteɛ ne nea eye wɔ asase no so.
16 Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the false prophets; Judgment of death is not [due] to this man; for he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.
Saa nna no mu, wobegye Yuda nkwa na Yerusalem bɛtena asomdwoe mu. Eyi ne din a wɔde bɛfrɛ no Awurade, Yɛn Trenee.’
17 And there rose up men of the elders of the land, and said to all the assembly of the people,
18 Michaeas the Morathite lived in the days of Ezekias king of Juda, and said to all the people of Juda, Thus says the Lord; Sion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become a desolation, and the mountain of the house shall be a thicket of trees.
saa ara nso na asɔfo a wɔyɛ Lewifo no, ɔbarima a obegyina mʼanim daa abɔ ɔhyew afɔre ne aduan afɔre na ɔde afɔre ahorow abrɛ me, remmɔ wɔn da.’”
19 Did Ezekias and all Juda in any way kill him? Was it not that they feared the Lord, and they made supplication before the Lord, and the Lord ceased from the evils which he [had] pronounced against them? whereas we have wrought great evil against our own souls.
Awurade asɛm baa Yeremia nkyɛn se:
20 And there was [another] man prophesying in the name of the Lord, Urias the son of Samaeas of Cariathiarim; and he prophesied concerning this land according to all the words of Jeremias.
“Sɛɛ na Awurade se: ‘Sɛ wubetumi abu me ne adekyee ne adesae apam so, na adekyee ne adesae amma wɔn bere a wɔahyehyɛ no a,
21 And king Joakim and all the princes heard all his words, and sought to kill him; and Urias heard [it] and went into Egypt.
ɛno de, na me ne mʼakoa Dawid apam ne Lewifo a wɔyɛ asɔfo a wɔsom wɔ mʼanim no apam no nso, wubetumi abu so, na Dawid rennya nʼaseni a ɔbɛtena ahengua so adi hene bio.
22 And the king sent men into Egypt;
Mɛma mʼakoa Dawid asefo ne Lewifo a wɔsom wɔ mʼanim no ase adɔ te sɛ ɔsoro nsoromma a wontumi nkan ne mpoano nwea a wontumi nsusuw.’”
23 and they brought him thence, and brought him into the king; and he struck him with the sword, and cast him into the sepulchre of the children of his people.
Awurade asɛm baa Yeremia nkyɛn se,
24 Nevertheless the hand of Achicam son of Saphan was with Jeremias, to prevent his being delivered into the hands of the people, or being killed.
“Wontee sɛ nnipa yi reka se, ‘Awurade apo ahenni abien a oyii no’ ana? Enti wobu me man animtiaa na wɔmmfa wɔn sɛ wɔyɛ ɔman bio.
