Jeremias 26
1 In the beginning of the reign of king Sedekias, there came this word concerning Aelam.
യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കൽ യഹോവയിങ്കൽ നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടാവിതു:
2 FOR EGYPT, AGAINST THE POWER OF PHARAO NECHAO KING OF EGYPT, who was by the river Euphrates in Charmis, whom Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Joakim king of Juda.
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ വരുന്ന സകല യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളെയും അവരോടു പ്രസ്താവിക്ക; ഒരു വാക്കും വിട്ടുകളയരുതു.
3 Take up arms and spears, and draw near to battle;
അവരുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വരുത്തുവാൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്ന അനർത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ അനുതപിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം പക്ഷേ അവർ കേട്ടു ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുതിരിയുമായിരിക്കും.
4 and harness the horses: mount, you horsemen, and stand ready in your helmets; advance the spears, and put on your breastplates.
എന്നാൽ നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഇടവിടാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടാക്കാതിരുന്ന എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾപ്പാനും
5 Why do they fear, and turn back? even because their mighty men shall be slain: they have utterly fled, and being hemmed in they have not rallied, says the Lord.
ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ച എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടപ്പാനും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയില്ലെങ്കിൽ,
6 Let not the swift flee, and let not the mighty man escape to the north: the [forces] at Euphrates are become feeble, and they have fallen.
ഞാൻ ഈ ആലയത്തെ ശീലോവിന്നു തുല്യമാക്കി ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകല ജാതികൾക്കും ശാപവാക്യമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും.
7 Who is this [that] shall come up as a river, and as rivers roll [their] waves?
യിരെമ്യാവു ഈ വാക്കുകളെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു പറയുന്നതു പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സകലജനവും കേട്ടു.
8 The waters of Egypt shall come up like a river: and he said, I will go up, and will cover the earth, and will destroy the dwellers in it.
എന്നാൽ സകലജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും യിരെമ്യാവു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു തീർന്നശേഷം, പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സകലജനവും അവനെ പിടിച്ചു: നീ മരിക്കേണം നിശ്ചയം;
9 Mount you the horses, prepare the chariots; go forth, you warriors of the Ethiopians, and Libyans armed with shields; and mount, you Lydians, bend the bow.
ഈ ആലയം ശീലോവിന്നു തുല്യമാകും, ഈ നഗരം നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാകും എന്നു നീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ജനമൊക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടി.
10 And that day [shall be] to the Lord our God a day of vengeance, to take vengeance on his enemies: and the sword of the Lord shall devour, and be glutted, and be drunken with their blood: for the Lord [has] a sacrifice from the land of the north at the river Euphrates.
ഈ കാര്യം യെഹൂദാപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കേട്ടാറെ, അവർ രാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ നിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പുതിയ പടിവാതിലിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ ഇരുന്നു.
11 Go up to Galaad, and take balm for the virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain have you multiplied your medicines; there is no help in you.
പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും സകലജനത്തോടും: ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ മരണയോഗ്യൻ; അവൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തചെവികൊണ്ടു കേട്ടുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12 The nations have heard your voice, and the land has been filled with your cry: for the warriors have fainted fighting one against another, [and] both are fallen together.
അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും സർവ്വജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകളൊക്കെയും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിപ്പാൻ യഹോവ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 THE WORDS WHICH THE LORD SPOKE by Jeremias, concerning the coming of the king of Babylon to strike the land of Egypt.
ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ നടപ്പും പ്രവൃത്തികളും നന്നാക്കി, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന അനർത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിക്കും.
14 Proclaim [it] at Magdol, and declare [it] at Memphis: say you, Stand up, and prepare; for the sword has devoured your yew tree.
ഞാനോ ഇതാ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഇഷ്ടവും ന്യായവും ആയി തോന്നുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ.
15 Therefore has Apis fled from you? your choice calf has not remained; for the Lord has utterly weakened him.
എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം നിങ്ങളുടെ മേലും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്മേലും അതിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ മേലും വരുത്തും എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കേ ഈ വാക്കുകളൊക്കെയും പ്രസ്താവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ എന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.
16 And your multitude has fainted and fallen; and each one said to his neighbor, Let us arise, and return into our country to our people, from the Grecian sword.
അപ്പോൾ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സകലജനവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടും: ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ മരണയോഗ്യനല്ല; അവൻ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ അല്ലോ നമ്മോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 Call you the name of Pharao Nechao king of Egypt, Saon esbeie moed.
അനന്തരം ദേശത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ജനത്തിന്റെ സർവ്വസംഘത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതു:
18 [As] I live, says the Lord God, he shall come as Itabyrion among the mountains, and as Carmel that is on the sea.
യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു മോരഷ്ട്യനായ മീഖായാവു സകലയെഹൂദാജനത്തോടും പ്രവചിച്ചു: സീയോനേ വയൽ പോലെ ഉഴുതുകളയും; യെരൂശലേം കല്ക്കുന്നായും ഈ ആലയമുള്ള പർവ്വതം വനാന്തരഗിരികളായും തീരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
19 O daughter of Egypt dwelling [at home], prepare you stuff for removing: for Memphis shall be utterly desolate, and shall be called Woe, because there are no inhabitants in it.
യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവും സർവ്വയെഹൂദയും അവനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞുവോ? അവൻ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, യഹോവയോടു ക്ഷമ യാചിക്കയും താൻ അവർക്കു വരുത്തുമെന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്ന അനർത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ അനുതപിക്കയും ചെയ്തില്ലയോ? നാമോ നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു വലിയോരു അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നു.
20 Egypt is a fair heifer, [but] destruction from the north is come upon her.
അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമിൽനിന്നുള്ള ശെമയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഊരീയാവു എന്നൊരുത്തൻ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചു; അവൻ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ സകലവാക്കുകളെയുംപോലെ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി പ്രവചിച്ചു.
21 Also her hired [soldiers] in the midst of her are as fatted calves fed in her; for they also have turned, and fled with one accord: they stood not, for the day of destruction was come upon them, and the time of their retribution.
യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവു അവന്റെ സകലയുദ്ധവീരന്മാരും സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളെ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ, രാജാവു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളവാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു; ഊരീയാവു അതു കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി.
22 Their voice is as [that] of a hissing serpent, for they go upon the sand; they shall come upon Egypt with axes, as men that cut wood.
യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവു ചില ആളുകളെ, അഖ്ബോരിന്റെ മകനായ എൽനാഥാനെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ മറ്റു ചിലരെയും മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.
23 They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, for [their number] can’t at all be conjectured, for it exceeds the locust in multitude, and they are innumerable.
അവർ ഊരീയാവെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു യെഹോയാക്കീംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ അവനെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു കൊന്നു അവന്റെ ശവത്തെ സാമാന്യജനത്തിന്റെ ശ്മശാനത്തിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
24 The daughter of Egypt is confounded; she is delivered into the hands of a people from the north.
എന്നാൽ യിരെമ്യാവെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാം അവന്നു പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നു.
25 Behold, I [will] avenge Ammon her son upon Pharao, and upon them that trust in him.
27 But fear not you, my servant Jacob, neither be you alarmed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be at ease, and sleep, and there shall be no one to trouble him.
28 Fear not you, my servant Jacob, says the Lord; for I am with you: she [that was] without fear and in luxury, has been delivered up: for I will make a full end of every nation among whom I have thrust you forth; but I will not cause you to fail: yet will I chastise you in the way of judgment, and will not hold you entirely guiltless.
