Jeremias 2
1 And he said, Thus says the Lord,

2 I remember the kindness of your youth, and the love of your espousals,

3 in following the Holy One of Israel, says the Lord, Israel was the holy [people] to the Lord, [and] the first fruits of his increase: all that devoured him shall offend; evils shall come upon them, says the Lord.
Hiche phatlai chun, Israel chu Pakai dinga atheng ahin, Ama ding a alholhun aga masapen chu ahi.
4 Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and every family of the house of Israel.
Pakai thusei hi ngaiyun, Vo Jacob insung Israel chate,
5 Thus says the Lord, What trespass have your fathers found in me, that they have revolted far from me, and gone after vanities, and become vain?

6 And they said not, Where is the Lord, who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who guided us in the wilderness, in an untried and trackless land, in a land which no man at all went through, and no man lived there?
Amahon, Egypt gam’a kon’a eihinpuidoh’uva, gammang lah’a eihin pui’uva, nelgam leh kokhuh lah’a eihinpui’uva, twi beina gam leh thina gam’a, koima kho-nung umlouna leh mi chennalou gam’a eihinpui’uva, Pakai Pathen chu hoiya um hitam? atipouve.
7 And I brought you to Carmel, that you should eat the fruits thereof, and the good thereof; and you went in, and defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
Keiman nangho, kateppih bangin, gamleiset phatah leh gamga chu nalut phat’un thet umtah in nasuboh tauvin ahi.
8 The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that held by the law knew me not: the shepherds also sinned against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and went after that which profited not.
Thempu hon, Pakai chu hoiya um hitam, tin aholpouve. Kathupeh tuh’a hilson hon jong eidontapouve; chuleh gamvaipo ho jing jong keima douvin apang gamtauvin ahi. Themgao hon jong Baal min in gaothu aseiyun, panna beiyin lim semthu ho nung ajui gamtauvin ahi.
9 Therefore I will yet plead with you, and will plead with your children's children.
Hijeh chun, keiman nachunguva kalunghanna kalhut ding, chuleh khonung geiya nachateu chung a kalunghanna kalhut ding ahi.
10 For go to the isles of the Chettians, and se; and send to Kedar, and observe accurately, and see if such things have been done;
Cheuvin lhumlam’a, Cypress gamsung gaveuvin; chuleh solam’a cheuvin Kedar gamsung gakhol’uvin. Hitobang thilkidang hi ahekha leh ajakha umkha nam?
11 if the nations will change their gods, though they are not gods: but my people have changed their glory, [for that] from which they shall not be profited.
Pathen dihtah houlou hijongleu, namkhat in a pathen chu thildang khat toh akhel khah am? Ahinlah kamiten vang aloupinau a Pathen’u keima hi, pannabei semthu pathen toh eikhelto tauve.
12 The heaven is amazed at this, and is very exceedingly horror-struck, says the Lord.
Hichea hin, vanthamjol atijan akithing in, chuleh nungkin leuvin alungdonge, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
13 For my people has committed two [faults], and evil ones: they have forsaken me, the fountain of water of life, and hewn out for themselves broken cisterns, which will not be able to hold water.

14 Is Israel a servant, or a home-born slave? why has he become a spoil?

15 The lions roared upon him, and uttered their voice, which have made his land a wilderness: and his cities are broken down, that they should not be inhabited.
Sakei thahatlai kitum bangin akitum khum’un, ama chu adouvin ahi. Amahon agamsung asuchavaiyun, akhopi jouse kho-gem asosah’un chuleh acheng beihel kho-homkeu asotauve.
16 Also the children of Memphis and Taphnas have known you, and mocked you.
Memphis khopi leh Tahpanhes khopia konin, Egypt mite ahung kitoldoh’un, Israel loupina leh thaneina chu asumang hel tauvin ahi.
17 Has not your forsaking me brought these things upon you? says the Lord your God.
Hiche hi, Pakai na Pathen in lampia napui laiya, nangin Ama nadou jeh’a, nanigin nachung a nakilhut khum ahibouve.
18 And now what have you to do with the way of Egypt, to drink the water of Geon? and what have you to do with the way of the Assyrians, to drink the water of rivers?
Egypt toh napankhom’a chuleh Assyria toh kitepna nabol’a chu, nang ding’a ipi aphachom um am? Nile vadung twi donding nati ham, chuleh Ephrates vadung twi donding nagot ham? Nang dinga thilpha ipi um am?
19 Your apostasy shall correct you, and your wickedness shall reprove you: know then, and see, that your forsaking me [has been] bitter to you, says the Lord your God; and I have taken no pleasure in you, says the Lord your God.
Nathilse bol chun nachung a pohgih ahinlhut ding, chuleh keima neidalhah chun najumso ding ahi. Nangman thilse tah nato ding, Hichu nangin Pakai na Pathen nadalhah’a chuleh jabollou tah’a nabol jeh’a, nang dinga akha-cheh nekha nabah ding ahi, tin keima Pakai Van Pathen chun kaseidoh ahitai.
20 For of old you have broken your yoke, and plucked asunder your bands; and you has said, I will not serve you, but will go upon every high hill, and under every shady tree, there will I indulge in my fornication.
Chuleh keiman sotlai peh’a napohgih pohna namkol kaheboh’a, chuleh soh’a nakihenna khao jong kabotan ahitai. Ahivangin tunjong nangin naseiyin,”Keiman nang kajinlou hil ding nahi, nati. Ajeh chu nangman, lhangsanglai jouse leh thingphung noi tin’ah, semthu doilim angsung’a, noti bangin nakun jol jol e.
21 Yet I planted you a fruitful vine, entirely of the right sort: how are you a strange vine turned to bitterness!
Ahivangin keiman nanghi, lengpithei gui phapen lah’a kon’a kalhentum’a, chuleh muchi thengsel’a kalah’a kaphu nahi. I-atileh, gamlah lengpithei guitoh kijop’a, dei umlou tah’a hung khangdoh nahim
22 Though you should wash yourself with nitre, and multiply to yourself soap, [still] you are stained by your iniquities before me, says the Lord.
Nangma cha-ngel tamtah'in kisil inlang, Chuleh sabon tamtah mang jong lechun, hichun nasoptheng jou ponte. Nathemmona ho kamit’a akilang jing’e, tin thaneipen Pakaiyin aseiye.
23 How will you say, I am not polluted, and have not gone after Baal? behold your ways in the burial-ground, and know what you have done: her voice has howled in the evening:
Nangin naseiyin, “Keima kakisubuhpoi. Baal doilim jong chibai kabohpoi,”nati. Hichu iti naseithei ham? Nalamlhahna phaicham ho ven, chonset gimnei tah tah nabol doh ho geldoh in! Nang hi, sangongsao lagol in, kimatpi ding ahol’a alheile tobang nahi.
24 she has extended her ways over the waters of the desert; she was hurried along by the lusts of her soul; she is given up [to them], who will turn her back? none that seek her shall be weary; at [the time of] her humiliation they shall find her.
Nang hi, gamlah’a sangan lagol in angaichat holna-a huilah anah lele tobang nahi. Amanun angaichat aholna akham ding koiham?
25 Withdraw your foot from a rough way, and your throat from thirst: but she said I will strengthen myself: for she loved strangers, and went after them.
Pathen dangho nung najuilea, kenga lam najot’a chuleh danggo leuva nalheile chu itih nangah ding hitam? Ahinlah nangin naseiyin,”Keiman gamdang pathen ho kalungset in, chuleh amaho nung kajuihi ngapong e,” nati.
26 As is the shame of a thief when he is caught, so shall the children of Israel be ashamed; they, and their kings, and their princes, and their priests, and their prophets.
Gucha akimatdoh teng ajahchat banga, Israel jong chuti ding ahi. Amaho, lengho, vaihom ho, thempu ho chuleh themgao ho jouse, abon’uva chuti ahiuve.
27 They said to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You has begotten me: and they have turned [their] backs to me, and not their faces: yet in the time of their afflictions they will say, Arise, and save us.
Amahon thingphunga kon kisemdoh milim jah’a, “nang kapa nahi” atiuvin, chuleh song’a kon’a kikhengdoh milim jah’a “nang kanu nahi” atiuve. Amahon keima einungngat gam’u ahitai. Ahivangin, agenthei ahesoh teng’uleh, amaho kahenga ahungkap’un, hungin neihuhdoh’uvin, atijiuve.
28 And where are your gods, which you made for yourself? will they arise and save in the time of your affliction? for according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Juda; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem they sacrificed to Baal.
Ahileh, nang dinga nakisem na-pathen ho chu, hoiya umtam? Amaho chu, mihuh hing thei ahiuleh, hesoh genthei natopet chun nahuhhingu hen. Vo Judah, na khopi jouseu jat’a pathen ho naneiyu hilou ham?
29 Therefore do you speak to me? you all have been ungodly, and you all have transgressed against me, says the Lord.
Ibol’a thilse bol’a keima neingoh’u ham? Nangho joh, nabon’un keima doumah mah bol in napangtauve, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
30 In vain have I struck your children; you have not received correction: a sword has devoured your prophets as a destroying lion; yet you feared not.
Keiman nachateu kaden ahitai, Ahivangin amahon kasuhdihna chu adonpouve. Sakei yin aneh ding akimat’a athabangin, nanghon nangho chemjam maman, nathemgaoteu nathattauve.
31 Hear you the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Have I been a wilderness or a dry land to Israel? therefore has my people said, We will not be ruled over, and will not come to you any more?
Vo Kamite, Pakai thusei hi ngaiuvin! Keima hi Israel dinga gamgo lah kahim? Ahilouleh keima hi, amaho dinga gamut thimlah kahim? Ibol’a kamiten, tunvang Pathen’a kon ongdoh kahitauve, keiho ama henga hungkit tapou vinge, tia aseiyu ham?
32 Will a bride forget her ornaments, or a virgin her girdle? but my people has forgotten me days without number.
Numei khangdong laiyin, akijepna asuhmil ngai am? Chuleh jinei ding nun amou-von ahaimil thei am? Ahinlah, kamiten akum kum in keima eisumildel tauvin ahi.
33 What fair device will you yet employ in your ways, so as to seek love? [it shall] not [be] so; moreover you has done wickedly in corrupting your ways;
Nakilungsetpi ding jollhahje, aguh in themtah in nagongtoh jin ahi. Numei kijohho geiyin jong nang thilbol’a konin akihiluve.
34 and in your hands has been found the blood of innocent souls; I have not found them in holes, but on every oak.
Na ponsil chunga monabei leh tahlelte thisan anat dimset e. Hiche hi keiman aguh’a kahet ahipon, lhangphong tah’a kamudoh ahibouve. Ahin thil hiyat nabolsa chung’a hin,
35 Yet you said, I am innocent: only let his wrath be turned away from me. Behold, I [will] plead with you, whereas you say, I have not sinned.
Nangin naseiyin,”Keiman thildihlou kabolpoi. Tahbeh in kachunga Pathen alunghanna ding aumpoi nati. Amavang tua hi, nachunga thutanna kalhut ding ahitai. Ajeh chu nangman nathilse bol naseilep in, chonsetna kaneipoi, nati.
36 For you has been so exceedingly contemptuous as to repeat your ways; but you shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assur.
Nangman pankhompi ding holnan gam leh lei nachon in ahi. Hijongleh, Assyria in najumso bang banga chu nakisonpi Egypt in jong nahinbol tei ding ahi.
37 For you shall go forth thence also with your hands upon your head; for the Lord has rejected your hope, and you shall not prosper in it.
Jum leh ja pum’a, khut kolnam thangsea, gamsung nadalhah ding ahi. Ajeh chu nangin nakisonpi ho jouse chu Pakaiyin imalouva akoigam ahitai. Chuleh amahoa kon’a aphachom namulou helding ahi.
