< Jeremias 14 >
1 AND THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO JEREMIAS CONCERNING THE DROUGHT.
Ty tsara’ Iehovà am’ Iirmeà ty amy hasalikoañey.
2 Judea has mourned, and her gates are emptied, and are darkened upon the earth; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
Mandala t’Iehodà, midegañe o lalam-bei’eo, ie mibotrek’ an-kontoke ty amy taney; vaho mionjoñe ty firoveta’ Ierosalaime.
3 And her nobles have sent their little ones to the water: they came to the wells, and found no water: and brought back their vessels empty.
Nirahe’ o roandriañeo o keleia’eo hitoha rano: ie pok’an-kadaha eo, tsy manjo rano; mimpoly am-binta kapaike, salatse naho daba, misaron-doha,
4 And the labors of the land failed, because there was no rain: the husbandmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
O taneo mivarakivaraky, tsy niavy an-tane ty orañe, miolitsolitse ty mpiava, misaron-doha.
5 And hinds calved in the field, and forsook [it], because there was no grass.
Miterak’ an-kivoke ey ka ty fanaloke, fe aforintse’e, ie tsy aman’ ahetse.
6 The wild asses stood by the forests, and snuffed up the wind; their eyes failed, because there was no grass.
Miereñereñe an-kaboan-diolio eñe ty borìke ly, misefosefo hoe fosa; milesa o maso’eo, amy te tsy eo rongoñe.
7 Our sins have risen up against us: O Lord, do you for us for your own sake; for our sins are many before you; for we have sinned against you.
Aa ndra te asisì’ o tahi’aio zahay, ry Iehovà, mitoloña ty amy tahina’oy; toe maro o fidisa-voli’aio, naho anaña’o hakeo.
8 O Lord, [you are] the hope of Israel, and deliver [us] in time of troubles; why are you become as a sojourner upon the land, or as one born in the land, yet turning aside for a resting-place?
Ry fitamà’ Israele, t’i Mpandrombak’ aze an-tsan-kaoreañe, manao akore te ihe ro manao ambahiny an-taneo, manahake ty mpitaveañe mañialo ao te haleñe?
9 Will you be as a man asleep, or as a [strong] man that can’t save? yet you are among us, O Lord, and your name is called upon us; forget us not.
Mañino irehe ro hoe ondaty daba, hoe fanalolahy tsy maharombake? F’ie añivo’ay irehe, ry Iehovà, vaho kanjieñe ami’ty tahina’o, ko aforintse’o.
10 Thus says the Lord to this people, They have loved to wander, and they have not spared, therefore God has not prospered them; now will he remember their iniquity.
Hoe t’Iehovà am’ondaty retoañe: Toe nitea’ iereo ty mirererere, tsy kinala’ iareo o fandia’eo; aa le tsy no’ Iehovà, ho tiahi’e henane zao o hakeo’eo, vaho ho lilove’e o tahi’ iareoo.
11 And the Lord said to me, Pray not for this people for [their] good:
Le hoe t’Iehovà amako: Ko ihalalia’o ty hasoa’ ondaty retoa,
12 for though they fast, I will not hear their supplication; and though they offer whole burnt offerings and sacrifices, I will take no pleasure in them: for I will consume them with sword, and with famine, and with pestilence.
Ie mililitse, tsy ho tsanoñeko o fitoreo’eo; ie mañenga soroñe naho enga mahakama, tsy ho noko; te mone ho mongoreko am-pibara, naho an-kerè vaho an-kiria.
13 And I said, O [ever] living Lord! behold, their prophets prophesy, and say, You shall not see a sword, nor shall famine be among you; for I will give truth and peace on the land, and in this place.
Le hoe iraho: Ee Talè, Iehovà! Inao ty filañona’ o mpitokio: Tsy hizò fibara nahareo, tsy ho tendreke hasalikoañe; fa ho tolorako fierañerañañe tsy modo ami’ty toetse toy.
14 Then the Lord said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, and I commanded them not, and I spoke not to them: for they prophesy to you false visions, and divinations, and auguries, and devices of their own heart.
Aa le hoe t’Iehovà amako: Mandañitse ami’ty añarako o mpitokio; tsy nahitriko tsy nililiako, tsy nivolañako; itokia’ iareo aroñarom-bande, naho sahàtse, naho raha kafoake, vaho ty famañahian-tro’ iareo avao.
15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy lies in my name, and I sent them not, who say, Sword and famine shall not be upon this land; they shall die by a grievous death, and the prophets shall be consumed by famine.
Aa le hoe t’Iehovà: O mpitoky mitoky ami’ty añarakoo: Tsy niraheko, fe hoe ty asa’iareo: Tsy ho an-tane atoy ty vi-lava naho ty kerè. Aa le ty fibara naho ty hasalikoañe ty higadoña’ i mpitoky rey.
16 And the people to whom they prophesy, they also shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, because of the sword and famine; and there shall be none to bury them: their wives also, and their sons, and their daughters [shall die thus]; and I will pour out their wickedness upon them.
Le hahifik’ an-dala’ Ierosalaime ey ondaty itokia’ iareoo, ami’ty mosare naho amy fibaray; le tsy hanam-pandeveñe, ie naho o vali’eo, naho o ana-dahi’eo, vaho o anak’ ampela’eo; fa hadoako am’iereo ty haloloa’ iareo.
17 And you shall speak this word to them; Let your eyes shed tears day and night, and let them not cease: for the daughter of my people has been sorely bruised, and her plague is very grievous.
Le isaontsio o tsara zao: Ehe te hitsiririàhan-drano maso handro an-kaleñe o masokoo; vaho ko ajihetse; amy te dinemo’ ty fanjevoañe ra’elahy i somondrara anak’ ampela’ ondatikoy, ami’ty fere mahatindry.
18 If I go forth into the plain, then behold the slain by the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold the distress of famine! for priest and prophet have gone to a land which they knew not.
Izaho mb’an-kivok’ añe: hehe ty zinamam-pibara, ie mimoak’ an-drova ao, ingo ty nanilofen-kerè! mikariokariok’ amy taney o mpitokio naho o mpisoroñeo fa tsy mahafohiñe.
19 Hast you utterly rejected Juda? and has your soul departed from Sion? therefore has you struck us, and there is no healing for us? we waited for peace, but there was no prosperity; for a time of healing, and behold trouble!
Vata’e nifarie’o hao t’Iehodà? Heje’ ty arofo’o vintañe hao ty Tsione? Ino ty nandafa’o anay ho po-pijanganañe? Ie nandiñe fanintsiñañe fe po hasoa, naho fitsaitsaihañe, te mone hankàñe.
20 We know, O Lord, our sins, [and] the iniquities of our fathers: for we have sinned before you.
Iantofa’ay ry Iehovà, o halò-tsere’aio, naho o tahin-droae’aio; toe anaña’o hakeo.
21 Refrain for your name's sake, destroy not the throne of your glory: remember, break not your covenant with us.
Ko malaiñ’anay irehe, ty amy tahina’oy! ko mavoe’o ty fiambesan’enge’o; mahatiahia, ko ivaliha’o i fañina’o ama’aiy!
22 Is there any one among the idols of the Gentiles that can give rain? and will the sky yield his fulness [at their bidding]? Are not you he? we will even wait on you, O Lord: for you have made all these things.
Ahavian’orañe hao o raha tsy jefa’ o kilakila’ndatioo? O likerañeo hao ty mampikojojoake orañe? Tsy Ihe hao, ry Iehovà Andrianañahare’ay? Tsy Ihe hao ty fitamà’ay? Toe Ihe ro Mpanao ze he’e zao!
