Jeremias 12
1 Righteous are you, O Lord, that I may make my defence to you, yes, I will speak to you [of] judgments. Why [is it] that the way of ungodly [men] prospers? [that] all that deal very treacherously are flourishing?
യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അങ്ങയുടെമുമ്പാകെ എന്റെ ആവലാതി കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ, അങ്ങ് എപ്പോഴും എനിക്കു നീതി നടപ്പാക്കിത്തരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും അങ്ങയുടെ വിധികളെപ്പറ്റി ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോടു സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ: ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വഴി ഐശ്വര്യം പ്രാപിക്കാൻ കാരണമെന്ത്? വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ സന്തുഷ്ടരായി ജീവിക്കുന്നത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?
2 You have planted them, and they have taken root; they have begotten children, and become fruitful; you are near to their mouth, and far from their reins.
അങ്ങ് അവരെ നട്ടു, അവർ വേരൂന്നുകയും, വളർന്നു ഫലംകായ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവരുടെ വായിൽ അങ്ങ് എപ്പോഴുമുണ്ട് എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അകലെയുമാണ്.
3 But you, Lord, know me; you have proved my heart before you; purify them for the day of their slaughter.
എന്നാൽ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് എന്നെ അറിയുന്നു; അങ്ങ് എന്നെ കാണുകയും അങ്ങയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള എന്റെ ഹൃദയസ്ഥിതി പരിശോധിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. കൊല്ലാനുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ അവരെ വലിച്ചിഴയ്ക്കണമേ! കശാപ്പുദിവസത്തിനായി അവരെ വേർതിരിക്കണമേ!
4 How long shall the land mourn, and the grass of the field wither, for the wickedness of them, that dwell in it? the beasts and birds are utterly destroyed; because [the people] said, God shall not see our ways.
നിവാസികളുടെ ദുഷ്ടതനിമിത്തം ഭൂമി എത്രകാലം ഉണങ്ങിവരണ്ടിരിക്കും? നിലത്തിലെ സസ്യമെല്ലാം എത്രകാലം വാടിയിരിക്കും? മൃഗങ്ങളും പക്ഷികളും നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു. “ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തു സംഭവിക്കും എന്ന് യഹോവ കാണുകയില്ല,” എന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നു.
5 Your feet run, and they cause you to faint; how will you prepare [to ride] upon horses? and you have been confident in the land of your peace? how will you do in the roaring of Jordan?
“കാലാൾപ്പടയാളികളോടുകൂടെ മത്സരിച്ചോടിയിട്ട് നീ ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോയാൽ, കുതിരകളോടു നീ എങ്ങനെ മത്സരിക്കും? സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനത്ത് നീ വീണുപോയാൽ യോർദാന്റെ വനത്തിൽ നീ എന്തുചെയ്യും?
6 For even your brethren and the house of your father, even these have dealt treacherously with you; and they have cried out, they are gathered together in pursuit of you; trust not you in them, though they shall speak fair [words] to you.
നിന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളും പിതൃഭവനവും നിന്നോടു വഞ്ചനകാട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ നിനക്കെതിരേ ഒരു വലിയ ആർപ്പുവിളി ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ നിന്നോടു മധുരവാക്കു സംസാരിച്ചാലും നീ അവരെ വിശ്വസിക്കരുത്.
7 I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given my beloved one into the hands of her enemies.
“ഞാൻ എന്റെ വീടുവിട്ടിറങ്ങി, എന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ഏറ്റവും സ്നേഹിച്ചവളെ അവളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെകൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
8 My inheritance has become to me as a lion in a forest; she has uttered her voice against me; therefore have I hated her.
എന്റെ ഓഹരി എനിക്കു കാട്ടിലെ സിംഹംപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു. അവൾ എന്റെനേരേ അലറുന്നു; അതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അവളെ വെറുക്കുന്നു.
9 Is not my inheritance to me a hyaena's cave, or a cave round about her? Go you, gather together all the wild beasts of the field, and let them come to devour her.
എന്റെ ഓഹരി എനിക്ക് ഒരു പുള്ളിക്കഴുകൻപോലെയോ? അതിനെ മറ്റ് ഇരപിടിയൻപക്ഷികൾ വളഞ്ഞ് ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ പോയി വയലിലെ എല്ലാ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് ഇരപിടിക്കാൻ വരിക.
10 Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have defiled my portion, they have made my desirable portion a trackless wilderness;
അനേകം വിദേശികളായ ഭരണാധിപന്മാർ എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പ് നശിപ്പിക്കും, അവർ എന്റെ ഓഹരി ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ മനോഹരമായ അവകാശത്തെ ഒരു ശൂന്യദേശമാക്കി തീർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 it is made a complete ruin: for my sake the whole land has been utterly ruined, because there is none that lays [the matter] to heart.
അവർ അതിനെ ശൂന്യദേശമാക്കും, അതു ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുകയാൽ എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; കരുതുന്നവർ ആരും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ ദേശംമുഴുവൻ ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും.
12 The ravagers are come to every passage in the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other: no flesh has any peace.
കൊള്ളക്കാർ മരുഭൂമിയിലൂടെ കുന്നുകളിലെല്ലാം അനേകമായി വന്നുചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ വാൾ ഒരറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേ അറ്റംവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും സമാധാനം കാണുകയില്ല.
13 Sow wheat, and reap thorns; their portions shall not profit them: be ashamed of your boasting, because of reproach before the Lord.
അവർ ഗോതമ്പു വിതയ്ക്കും, എന്നാൽ മുള്ളുകൾ കൊയ്തെടുക്കും; അവർ അത്യധ്വാനംചെയ്യും, എന്നാൽ ഒന്നും നേടുകയില്ല. യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപംനിമിത്തം അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വിളവിനെപ്പറ്റി ലജ്ജിക്കും.”
14 For thus says the Lord, concerning all the evil neighbors that touch mine inheritance, which I have divided to my people Israel; Behold, I [will] draw them away from their land, and I will cast out Juda from the midst of them.
“ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന അവകാശത്തെ കൈയടക്കുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന്മാരായ എന്റെ സകല അയൽവാസികളെയുംപറ്റി,” യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ അവരെ അവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് പിഴുതെടുക്കും, യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തെ ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് പറിച്ചെടുക്കും.
15 And it shall come to pass, after I have cast them out, [that] I will return, and have mercy upon them, and will cause them to dwell every one in his inheritance, and every one in his land.
എന്നാൽ അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞശേഷം ഞാൻ വീണ്ടും അവരോടു കരുണകാണിക്കും. അവരെ ഓരോരുത്തരെയും അവരവരുടെ അവകാശത്തിലേക്കും രാജ്യത്തേക്കും ഞാൻ മടക്കിവരുത്തും.
16 And it shall be, if they will indeed learn the way of my people, to swear by my name, [saying], The Lord lives; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall [that nation] be built in the midst of my people.
അവർ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ ബാലിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യാൻ പഠിപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ ‘ജീവിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണെ, എന്ന്,’ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴികൾ താത്പര്യത്തോടെ പഠിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, അവർ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മധ്യേ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കും.
17 But if they will not return, then will I cut off that nation with utter ruin and destruction.
എന്നാൽ ഏതെങ്കിലും ജനത അനുസരിക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ആ ജനതയെ പിഴുതെറിയുകയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
